64 bit kernel for stock ROM? - Moto Z2 Play Questions & Answers

Hi I have a Moto z2 play and need to run 64bit apps but I realised that I have a 32 bit kernel. I don't want to install liniage as I am used to the stock rom. So I was wondering if it is possible to get a 64 bit kernel from a custom ROM and use it on the stock rom (or have a kernel for the stock rom) and with people saying that there will be slow downs I have a phone from 2014 with 1.7 GHz and only 1gb of ram and it runs with a 64 bit kernel

no
you need a 64 bit rom so you can actually get to use 64-bit apps. Having a 64-bit kernel with a 32-bit rom won't let you install/use 64-bit apps

Can I use stock GB Rom and Doom Kernel?

Hi guys! I just bought an Arc S, and it's totally awesome. BUT, even if I like the design of the stock ROM, it really can be improved. I always have around 60 mb of free RAM, and you can imagine the result
May I use doom kernel ( or any other kernel ) without flashing a new rom? Would I have improvements? Do I get more free ram?
Thanks in advance, I'm trying to learn everything I can about modding this phone, I had a Motorola and I spent the last months tweaking it, now it's time to start all over
If you've unlocked the bootloader, yes. Any kernel thread OP will advise what version of android the kernel will support, or if it's specifically for a certain rom(i.e. MIUI/CyanogenMod roms). Generally, custom kernels improve performance and add features not available in the stock rom such as call recording, various schedulers, overclocking and so on. Battery life tends to be better with the stock kernels though.
thanks! and specifically, if I want to stay ( for now ) with stock rom 2.3.4 which kernel would you suggest me to try? i'd like one with smartassv2 governor, i heard it's pretty good
Doomkernel is your best bet there, tbh.

[Q]increase ram problem on 4.4 KK

Uhh well, last night I just update to android 4.4 but I wonder I can't use swapit ram expander, and it says like this attachment,or got any way to increase ram on 4.4? sry for my bad english.
I think because of the kernel. kernel doesn't have swap support. Moreover, you may use khan kernel. I recommend its 362 mb ram version.
you can find the khan kernel in this link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593327
hrinfrnlmjsty's right, the current kernels don't have SD swap.
Oh thx guys i will try later.:good:
Uhh well i were update the kernal already but it also sayimg same things as well, but what's means of hard ware lock?

help!! my zenfone 2 has mismanaged ram

is that since I turn on my zenfone 2 3 apps open and a ram gets filled and slow. I have the version of 4GB of RAM as I can avoid this ??
It's strange... My ZF2 has 4GB RAM, and all the time I never see the free run below 1,5GB in stock rom.
Well, you can flash a custom kernel to partially fix the memory management (Lollipop is a bull****) or a lightweight stock-based custom rom. My recomendations are: Project T and BORET's kernels and Prism Barebone and Echoe ROMs.

Did you unlock the bootloader? Your fw version is updated?
As the addition:
1. Install and configure Xposed.
2. Install Fix Lollipop Memory Leak from the repositories.
3. Activate module and reboot.
It should fix ColorFade memory leak that exist on Android 5.0.x ROMs.

Well, I've tested this, but I dont see any memory gains. I think Asus fixed it in our LP.
