I got my tab s4 in the mail today. Excited to root it I brushed up on the 9 step guide and downloaded everything i need. Odin will not install twrp. I've been completely livid cuz it should just work. Odin gets stuck on 3 different things:
Threads completed Sucess:0 Fail: 1

and setup connection

Are you using the OEM cable? Also make sure you run Odin as an administrator.

First this is not the help area. Second this has been told over and over.
1 get usbdview application for windows
2 download the Latest samsung kies
3 unplug all usb devices from your computer and reboot
4 Run usbdview and delete all entries
5 install Kies
6 plug in your phone and the drivers will be INstalled
7 put your phone back to stock because you should Never flash if you don't know your way back.
The above information is very General as to the fact you give absolutely NO Description of what happened and how you got to where you are now...

So did you get ODIN TO WORK (PHONE recognized properly on the computer)
If so look in sammobile for the latest stock full rom for your phone and flash that with odin
Search this forum for how to use odin to flash stock rom.
But you still kinda have me confused
Is my Galaxy TabPro10.1wifi completely locked, or am I doing something wrong?
I can't install any custom recovery and I can't root the device:
(I put cyanogenmod on my Nexus 7 2013, and that was a breeze, but this
is making me pull my hair out)
I just bought a Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 SM-T520 from BestBuy last week.
It is wifi only (not a phone)
Android: 4.4.2
Kernel: 3.4.39-3336840
Build: KOT49H.T520UEUANK1
In everything that I have tried, Odin starts "initialization"
and just gets stuck there forever. On the tablet, I never see a bar
indicating any download starting, or progress meter.
I have tried looking through lots of threads and Google searches, but
I can't figure out how to get either a custom recovery or root.
It boots into and runs its stock (Samsung) Android OS fine.
I have turned on developer mode, and permitted USB debugging.
I'm using Windows 7 Professional 64 bit.
I have turned off MS Security Essentials and User Account Control.
Each time I run as administrator for Odin, or Heimdall, as well, for good measure.
I start up "download mode", and the TabPro says "Downloading..."
I connect the USB cable and Odin recognizes the device.
I tried to install TWRP using Odin with all the combinations:
I tried Odin 3.04, 3.07, 3.09, 3.10, 3.10.6
I tried TWRP 2.7.0, 2.8.0, 2.8.1.2, 2.8.6
I tried to root it with chainfire CF-Auto-Root with Odin 3.07 and 3.09
(download.chainfire.eu/392/CF-Root1/CF-Auto-Root-picassowifi-picassowifixx-smt520.zip)
Towelroot does not support this device.
I tried Heimdall for clockworkmod recovery and that didn't work either.
Thanks in advance - I would really appreciate any help.

Yes, I first tried the Samsung drivers and then even installed Kies v3.
When I tried Heimdall, I loaded the WinUSB from zadig, but when I went back to Odin, I re-installed the Samsung drivers, and rebooted.
No luck with Samsung, Kies, or Hiemdall/zadig

ok so I think this s just that most of the stuff you are trying to flash in ODIN has not been updated to work with the NK1 build. I ran into this a bunch when i first got my 12.2 tab pro last week. It turned out the file i was trying to flash was just no longer compatible with the build I was using. One file actually softbricked the device. What are you trying to run? Do you have the tab rooted? If it is the 12.2 I can walk you through what i had do to to get it work work.

Hi, follow THIS guide to root then use TWRP Manager to install TWRP, if this method STILL Doesnt work DM/Private Message me
I got the new phone on the 10th of Jan. and while trying to root it Odin always stops at NAND Write start. I can leave it for 20 mins and never progresses past it.
I have dev mode on, OEM unlocking on, USB debugging on, Even turned off Verify apps via USB. My pc's antivirus and firewall has been disabled, and have used every usb port on my tower.
I have tried multiple files to flash, twrp 2.8.7.0 zeroftlespr. img.tar and the 2.8.6.0; Unikernel v6-920p and v6-0001; boot-of7root.tar
Im using latest Odin 3.07. The only discrepancy I've found is the Build number is LMY47x.G920PVPU3BOI1. That is a I not an L

If you had updated to a more current stock, then you can't use an older one. But I don't understand what you are trying to do.
Odin the latest stock. Reboot and return to download mode.
Odin a current version of unikernel, either 9 or use 8. Reboot. You are now rooted.
Odin the latest version or TWRP, 2.8.7.0.
Done. The other files you referenced are unnecessary.
The other things that usually fix Odin are to try different USB ports and cables.
No just trying to get the first root. Its a new phone.
Whenever i attempt to use Odin it always hangs at NAND write start.

As I said, try different ports and different cables.
All you need for root is to Odin Unikernel 8 or 9.
So i'm kinda new to all this. Been looking up info for past few days. Went a head and tried to root my phone. Obviously its a Sprint model Galaxy S6 (SM-G920P). I tried using one of the simple CF Auto Root/Odin guides on here. I found the CF Auto Root file I needed for SM-G920P. I put my phone into Odin mode. Made sure OEM Unlocking was On. Started Odin, pressed AP button and loaded the CF Auto Root TAR file. Ensured only options ticked was Auto-Reboot and F reset. Odin loads the file and says -Leaving CS...- I press start in Odin and nothing really happens.
It shows :
-All threads completed - Successful 0 Failed 0-
Ive tried using Odin 3.10 and Odin 3.12 i believe.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
is your phone being read into the program? Also, did you install the Samsung Driver pack? You may not have all the drivers you need
Use my guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/spr...uide-links-files-update-root-restore-t3366862
There is a link to a video that will walk you through the steps of using ODIN.
Ok, thanks guys for offering help. After continuing my research I understood ODIN wasn't recognizing my phone. Because the com button wasnt lit up. Also, I had made sure I installed the latest samsung drivers directly from their website. Even installed smart switch too just in case. That didn't work. Finally I decided it had to be an issue with my computer or usb cable (which wasn't an actual samsung brand). So I went to a relatives and used their computer to try ODIN on. Luckily they also had an acutal samsung usb charger as well. So finally ODIN recognized my phone and I successfully rooted it! Verified it with a root checking app. I was so flippin happy lol!
My next step is gonna be getting TWRP set up and doing some ROM research, so I can flash a rom.
Anyways super excited now.
Odin stuck in "SetupConnection...", impossible flash problem in Galaxy S9+ G9650
I've been trying to install TWRP on my Galaxy S9 + G9650 for several days, but I can't, I even tried to install the original ROM, to see if the problem was TWRP, but without success yet ... I need help with Odin, now I used all versions of it, new and old, I already changed the cable several times, I used the original and other different cables, and even the Micro-USB to Type-C converter and still without success. What should I do now? I really need to ROOT, whether with TWRP or not. I tried to modify the original ROM using the Magisk flash method directly on the ROM, then I tried to install via Odin and still giving the error. I put the images attached to the post.
OEM: Unlocked
USB Debug: Enabled
Help??

I've tried another USB port and even another PC, but it still doesn't flash, and the drivers are ok, I have reinstalled them too. And on my Galaxy S3 I managed to flash the Stock ROM and the TWRP on it too, only the Galaxy S9 + that doesn't.
strange problem, is twrp good?

Yes, i used the correct TWRP for my phone model.
Strange as it may seem, I got it on an old PC, but on two PCs here in my house, an Intel LGA 1155 and another AMD AM4 couldn't, they crashed at SetupConnection, but when I went to my cousin's house and tried on the old PC his, an Intel LGA 775, DDR2 motherboard, Windows 10 64 bits and everything went well, installed normally without any error. I believe that Odin has to have this bug fixed, on the other PCs here at home, even on the USB 2.0 port it didn't work, but as strange as it was, on a PC 10 (or more) years ago it did... Now my device is finally rooted with Magisk and TWRP.
S9+ ODIN stuck at "ConnectionSetup" ?
Has anyone figured out what the issue is yet?
I'm using a 2020 ASUS Vivobook with Windows 10 (64-bit).
I'm trying to flash the G965U1 Unlocked/Unknown Firmware.
I have successfully flashed the same to another S9+ I had, and know the process fairly well.
USB Debug is ON
Used several different Cables.
Rebooted PC
Factory Reset the device.
Reinstalled the Drivers
Reinstalled the Patched ODIN
Tried a different Version of Firmware.
Any thoughts, advice, or revelations?

Same model, same exact problem. I tried a different PC, but stuck on SetupConnection.
Do you remember which Odin version and drivers you used where you were successful?
