Hi guys,
S20+ here.
So has anyone noticed that the power button when pressed or otherwise tends to go lower than the volume buttons.
The volume rocker button is brilliant in pressing or otherwise.
Power button feels flimsier, not loose as such but just when pressed goes down to the level of the side frame.
tbh I dont like Power button at all on S20+, its feel like unlocking Redmi 7 or so and not a flagship of flagships... hahaha mine very minor problem

That's what I feel too
I'm like, where's the premium ?!?!
It's only on the volume rocker...
But not so much for the power button
yeah compared to my s10 the buttons are much worse low quality feeling...

Cost cutting quality loss that we have to deal with, it seems...
Apparently
Volume button does feel like it's "clickier" than the power button. Like the volume feels more "tight"? But yeah, OCD, not a real big issue kind of thing. I assume with a good case this won't be an issue at all. I'm waiting on my Grip case to arrive on Monday. I'll see then.

Comparing my brother's gsm with my cdma galaxy nexus, I've noticed a few things.
I feel like the gsm model has a slight bit higher tolerances in fit and finish. the volume button is the same as the power button snug, doesn't wiggle and firm to the touch.
The cdma one has slightly larger cutouts of the volume button so there's some play and wiggle room. This bugs me slightly as it rattles a bit when the phone vibrates.
Another thing I noticed is the touch vibrate on the on screen keyboard or even the on screen home/back/task buttons aren't as strong as the vibrate motor on the gsm. feels dampened and not as crisp. If i had to guess, feels like 50% of the amount of feel in the gsm.
Other than that. besides the slightly thicker phone .5mm ish it feels about the same in the pocket and weight. only if you hold both side by side will you notice the slightly thicker back of the cdma
anyone else have similar comments to add or share?
does your CDMA volume keys rattle? or wiggle? does your vibrate feel almost unnoticeable when you type or unlock?
thanks!
my cdma volume rocker does move but I do not notice a rattle when vibrate is active.

My phone is on vibrate 24/7. Never hear a rattle. Shouldn't assume anomalies within the manufacturing process are consistent with every device. If it bugs you that much, maybe you could exchange. Although I'm not sure they will accept "wiggly volume rocker" as a defect
Edit: in response to above, mine doesn't even move.

I'm on my second cdma galaxy nexus. The first one I exchanged due to the bad signal issue, which wasn't really the case as we now all know due to these phones showing bars based on data and not 1x. Anyway, my first nexus had a loose volume rocker and had really obvious verticle banding at lower brightness levels. The replacement one I got has a solid volume rocker with no movement, and I've noticed that the screen has little to no verticle banding on low brightness levels. I'm guessing the first batch of cdma nexus phones had some fitting issues.

I guess there are manufacturing tolerances in batches. grr
its not a big bother if it just wiggled. even the iphone 4s volume wiggled alittle. the annoying part is the rattling when the vibrate comes on.
I'll have to exchange. yes, minor.. but its a phone i have to live with for 2years.
thanks for the responses.
My volume buttons don't feel loose at all. But I do hear a rattle, I always thought it was the extended battery cover and my table or something.
I got to play with my sister in-law's LTE Nexus over the break and I actually liked that it was a bit heavier and thicker. I find the GN is a bit less comfortable in my hand compared to the NS. If there is an extended battery version for the GSM Nexus I will probably get it.
When I press the volume button to the left, the software volume sliders moves right (gets louder).
This is when the volume buttons are on top of the tablet, which I believe is the upright position (camera lenses are on top / Nexus logo is upright).
Is everyone else's volume backwards, or is it just me? It seems like Asus has made a mistake.
Its the same on mine. I wouldn't call it a mistake. more so a prefence. If it bothers you, you may have a bad case of ocd.
Perhaps it is OCD, but who would prefer it this way? Completely reversed to the software volume. It was a manufacturing mistake, it just has to be.
Its designed with portrait mode. Press up to increase volume and down to decrease volume.
It would be confusing if the volume rocker increased the volume in portrait, but the same button decreased in landscape.

Seeing as I use mine in portrait mode unless I am playing a game or watching a video, I actually prefer it this way. It's not really an error, just more of a design choice. It is going to be wrong in either mode unless you rotate it the other way. I'd say they just should have put the ASUS written in the other direction and have people flip it the other way.

Your hands will cover the lenses the other way. It could have worked if the cameras were at the other end.

True, there are several changes that would need to be made other than the ASUS writing. Look at the GS3 (even though it isn't a tablet), volume rocker on the left side works well too.
Hi.
do you hear a little sound when you give little taps on the back near the mic jack?
down I have no sound but when I tap on top, I hear something like something was not fixed.
what could be it?

Hehehe, you and I seem to have done the same thing when we bought it. If I had to take a wild guess at what that is, I would say it is a loose fit of the volume rocker, or the power button. The thing is rock solid though, I had the 2012 and that thing creaked and flexed all over the place. I'll take a rattle from knocking on the back.
I think my volume rocker does the same thing just a small rattle and you dont really notice it unless your looking out for it
Yes u are right.
come from volume rocker.
seem holes have too much play.
Im pretty sure its the camera autofocus mechanism you are hearing. Same on all devices with autofocusing cameras.

That's exactly right.
ja.
tried with my phone.
same type of sound.
Anyone has a little play in their volume button, like almost feels a little loose. Just wondering if thats normal?
I've been wondering about this all day today, too. I have the same issue. Is just slightly wobbly, and every now and then when I put it down on the table it makes a very brief and slight rattle noise. Although I've read elsewhere this could be the camera autofocus system.
Otherwise, the button feels pretty good when pressed - gives a nice solid click. I wouldn't have noticed, to be honest, if it wasn't for the fact that I kept thinking the screen protector was peeling off whenever my finger brushed the button and I felt the small amount of movement the button gives.
Having checked a few of the other phones I have around the house (Galaxy S4, S4 Mini, Nexus 4, iPhone 4 - all the fours!), they all appear to have a bit of give in their volume rockers/buttons, except the Nexus 4.
My girlfriend also has a OnePlus 3 - will check hers when she gets home.
I have it too. I can move the complete button up and down just a little.
I just checked my girlfriend's OP3 and it has an identical amount of movement in it. Seems to be by design.

I have very little play vertically, like 1 mm. It's not really noticeable in day to day use.
My issue with the volume buttons is, volume down feels "clickier" than volume up. Volume up needs little more pressure to press compared to volume down and power button. The button also seems to go deeper when pressed, compared to the other two buttons. I was wondering if that's normal. I love everything about the phone, but that button kinda worries me.
Mine doesn't seem to have any movement except vertical movement of a minimal amount
my volume keys move slightly to the right and left, is this normal?
sorry for my english
Well I had high hopes for this device but nothing about it was better than ok. Above all I was hoping it would be a modern 758 as this device feels so good in my hand. But it's not to be. Was hoping the fingerprint scanner/home button would wake the device by just touching it without having to press the button like my OP3 but it also is not to be. This is the same for using it as the home button, also needs to be pressed which doesn't feel right because the 2 capacitive keys next to it are a simple touch. No double tap to wake and when u tap on the screen it feels cheap almost like plastic even though it's supposed to be GG3. Yes I know it's cheap phone but I was hoping ZTE pulled off the impossible. It cost me $11 return shipping and 45 minutes and this All this is just my opinion.

I feel differently have the phone for 2weeks...Everything feels good compare to my galaxy 7edge.this phone for 230$ has everything feels good on my hand ... Battery life is great. I can make it last me almost 2days. And no lags...Almost stock andriod...yay
2 weak points on this phone. The speaker and camera.
Speaker-not the loudest ...It's OK
Camera - not great on low light....But it also didn't cost me 800$ like other phones.
For 230$ it's a good buy.
This is an amazing device for the money, great battery life, good performance, super responsive fingerprint scanner, decent cameras, 3gb of RAM, dual sim, speaker is so so but that's my only complaint and really it's not even a complaint for the price. What more could you ask for for $229
