Stopping apps from closing - Samsung Galaxy S20 / S20+ / S20 Ultra Questions &

Does anyone know how I can stop closing Spotify and tune in radio when I open the close app page? I know I can just do each app individually but if there's a few open and I press close all it does. I never had this problem on my P20 PRO. I've had a quick look in settings but can't really see anything
Cheers

you need to go into the power menu and make an exception for this app - cant remember exactly where but somewhere in the battery settings is an option that allows you to add exceptions on apps that can run in the background
OR
for s20 - add spotify to your locked apps (long press on the app icon in last used app list - and lock it) that would keep it running all the time

Just go to the settings menu > Apps and pick Spotify or whatever app is having the issue. Then tap on battery and make sure the app is allowed to run in the background. Also, check to make sure it is not optimized. Once the list of optimized apps loads up, filter for all apps and remove the ones that need to run in the background.

It seems that if I freeze either Google search 1.0 (the widget you can't get rid of) or Google search 2.0.0.438695, I have problems. Freezing either with TB causes NAV to crash my phone and pressing the mic on the keyboard simply doesn't work, it either won't come up at all or it comes up but doesn't start. If I disable Google search 2.0.xxxxxxx in app manager to get rid of widget the same thing happens. I want the Google widget gone but need the voice input options, an ideas? I don't think it's a ROM thing, and when I switch launchers I can leave it enabled and not have the widget.

After you freeze the widget check in your settings under "Language and Input" and make sure Google Voice Typing is still checked on. Then reboot and see if it fixes the issue.

No I mean update Google Search through the Play Store and try what you did before to see if the issue persists.
No that did not work either, but I now have Google voice in the input and language menu. Is there another method to get rid of the Google search widget that is locked to the top of each home screen? It's only showing up on my Razr Launcher, not my other 2 launchers even when defrosted, maybe it's locked into the launcher somehow.

There aren't any, at least none that I can find. Oh well, Thank you very much for all the help, maybe I'll re-post the question on the launcher DEV page. I realized that would have been a better place for this right after I clicked submit, LOL.
I figured it out, it's the launcher. There is an updated version with out the search bar. The thing I liked most tho was the clock widget but it doesn't work with other launchers, so that's that then.

Suprising Little Things with the Phone

This is such a great phone! I'm continued to be surprised by little features here and there.
Here are some of my favorite surprises that I've recently discovered.
(*) Pressing the home button three times, will reduce the size of the display. Similar to the reachability feature on iPhone.
(*) The calendar icon actually shows the current date. And, the clock icon actually shows the current time. Love how Samsung is paying attention to these little details.

Don't need to wait for Marshmallow, this phone already got "Do Not Disturb."
When taking selfie, touch heart rate sensor in the back can also snap picture.
oh it works.. tks.
The current date and clock doesn´t shows for me? I did on my Note 4 if I´m not mistaken......
You dont need to touch the camera sensor. Tap in the screen anywhere in selfie mode and it will snap a shot
Here's another one. .. in camera selfie mode just say "cheese" or "smile" ?
Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
Or "shoot"!
Also, if the phone is face down you can ignore calls and respond with a canned sms by pressing on the fingerprint sensor.

It only shows it the stock theme. If you theme the phone with a different theme from the theme store it doesn't show any more.
In selfie mode if you wave at the camera, it recognizes your hand then shows a 3 second countdown before taking the shot. (You need to enable this in the camera settings)

Thanks! I also noted that using Nova it doesn´t work. But it´s not a big deal
Seems like you can also get the floating apps like you can do on the Note series, simply launch an app like youtube, then swipe from the top corner to the middle, and there you have it, a floating app.
Great thread, stuff I wouldn't have found for years on my own!
Instead of the 3 home button tap for one handed mode you can reduce any app to be floating by dragging from the top very left or right of the screen down. Not from the top edge but the top of the screen if that makes sense.

[App][Beta] Compact Media Control – looking for testers & feedback

I was bored and made a simple app. I sent it to a friend and after some feedback from him, I kept working on it. I figured I may as well let whoever wants to, test/use it.
So please help me test this app I made – Compact Media Control.
It basically consists of a simple overlay with the following functions:–
· previous, pause/play, next
· launch/switch current media app
You get the overlay to show up by shaking your device side to side firmly but briefly (I am constantly fiddling with the sensitivity and required duration of the shaking).
App drawer
Tapping the app icon in the drawer will pop up a small dialog asking you which app you want the overlay to control.
Prev (left arrow)
Single tap → same as pressing the back key in Spotify/GPM or inline controls or BT headset
Long press → make the overlay launch on the left side of the screen from now
Next (right arrow)
Single tap → same as pressing the next key in Spotify/GPM or inline controls or BT headset
Long press → make the overlay launch on the right side of the screen from now
Play button
Single tap → same as pressing the play/pause key in Spotify/GPM or inline controls or BT headset
Long press → launch currently selected media app (Spotify/GPM)
Swipe from icon → select media app
Getting the overlay to show
Shaking the device side to side with the screen unlocked will cause the overlay to show up on one side of the screen. Using the overlay to launch a media app or switch sides the overlay appears on will immediately make it disappear. In any other case, the overlay will disappear on its own after 7 seconds of not interacting with the overlay.
Please let me know what you think, if you decide to try it
I especially want to know if you think if it is utter ****, so I know to stop working on it.
Thank you!
* I only have a Nexus 6P and OnePlus One to test on, so I am hoping others can help to test on their devices, as well as provide feedback on the functionality of the app

to-do:
· toast or snackbar on song metadata change
Download
Download on AndroidFileHost latest version: 1.26
or attachment
changelog:–
29 December 2015 – v1.26
· very minor graphical tweaks for more consistency across different elements
28 December 2015 – v1.25
· added function to swipe from middle (play) button to pick media app
27 December 2015 – v1.2
· new app icon and overlay design
· removed redundant volume up and down buttons – the hardware keys should be in reach anyway (please provide feedback on this!)
· added swipe feature to play button, to dismiss the overlay
27 December 2015 – v1.1
· No longer monitors touchscreen, uses timers on buttons instead. Side-benefit over previous method is that the 7 second timer to automatically disappear only refreshes when you interact with the overlay (previously, tapping anywhere on the screen will reset the 7-second timer).
Following. Looking forward to all your progress.

I wanted to use on my Android based car head unit CarJoying JY-UQ130. Before using there I tried it on my Sony Z3 Compact and it didn't work. Only shows overlay allowing to choose left or right side and then nothing.
---------- Post added at 10:14 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:03 PM ----------
Oh, sorry. My bad, I didn't shake the phone. It works. However, shaking won't be possible on the head unit. Could you add some screen input based way to have overlay appear or possibly some manual way via status bar? The reason why I want to use something like this is to be able change track while using navigation app.

could someone tell me what system app this is?

when you plug in your G4 to charge it, a screen comes on with a photo of some wave of liquid and bubbles to graphically simulate your phone being topped up with "fuel" I suppose.
I need to know what exact executable program this is so I can kill off this little ad-infested bastard which accomplishes nothing useful.
gracias!

What your seeing is the "Boostcharge" feature within the Clean Master application. You can delete the app or disable the feature by tapping the menu button in the top right and clicking settings. This screen only shows when the phone is being charged. Let me know.

Thats interesting. I have bought and used Go Keyboard and never had any issues. I stopped using it only cause of how it works. I have Clean Master running on a different phone right now with the Boostcharge enabled. I have pics but do not know how to post them yet...

That's a different thing, free form is common between all aosp roms, but miui has a custom one known as floating window or so, like you get access through the side widget, that's not possible in aosp, only the recent menu one is available which is not convenient as this.
