could someone tell me what system app this is? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

when you plug in your G4 to charge it, a screen comes on with a photo of some wave of liquid and bubbles to graphically simulate your phone being topped up with "fuel" I suppose.
I need to know what exact executable program this is so I can kill off this little ad-infested bastard which accomplishes nothing useful.
gracias!

I believe that will be du battery saver or du speed booster , if you haven't got those installed then it's probably clean master...

Install this from the playstore -https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.denper.addonsdetector
And if it doesn't find anything it is most likely Verizon bloatware...

Try holding on to the app until a box at the top says app info then drag the app into app info it will tell you which app it is then just simply uninstall , I'm going to bed now but if you still can't do it then quote my post so I get notified and when I'm up in the morning I'll do my best to help you....

What your seeing is the "Boostcharge" feature within the Clean Master application. You can delete the app or disable the feature by tapping the menu button in the top right and clicking settings. This screen only shows when the phone is being charged. Let me know.

I do not have the "Clean Master" application, never had it - I don't use that kind of trash.
I am starting to suspect Go keyboard for this malware. though.

Thats interesting. I have bought and used Go Keyboard and never had any issues. I stopped using it only cause of how it works. I have Clean Master running on a different phone right now with the Boostcharge enabled. I have pics but do not know how to post them yet...

I have the same problem

[Q] How to get lockscreen back to stock in stock rom?

I can't believe I am actually asking this as a question. But I was neither capable to remove some 3rd party lockscreen from my gf's entirely stock SGN (rom-wise), nor did I manage to google for help.
Tried Go Locker and LockBot. I can choose a different Lockscreen but this new fella is now before the one I try to get rid off. So we actually have 2 lockscreens now. The 2nd one is easy to switch back off but the one below stays right where it is.
Here's what it looks like:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Also, you can set the phone to lock pattern. Works fine except for the lockscreen that again succeeds all other lockscreens. It's always the last barrier before you can use the phone.
Please be so kind and let me know where else to look for turning it off
The lock screen app your using, need to be deactivated... if that cannot happen, go to settings----applications---find that app----open it-----and press clear defaults-----bang problem solved

Thanks for the reply. My girlfriend says she never installed a lock screen app (intentionally). I was suspecting the range of Go products but uninstalling most of them (after going through all of their settings) didn't help either.
The question is what app might have caused it. And why isn't there an app that lets you default to stock? That's why I installes Go Locker and LockBot in the first place.
Actually this is quite a tragic flaw in Android. My gf totally diggs her shiny new SGN but is totally pissed by this lock screen. She never wanted it. She hates it. Now she starts hating the phone. She said she wanted a replacement...

Holy crap, dude! You nailed it. Rogue app called "Simply Locks". Is the on-phone search still disabled? because I used it to search for "lock" but it did not find Simply Locks.
Anyways, you guys made a little girl smile big time again.

Try pulling it up. There should be a refresh button. I had to hit that to get it to work. But then it's just annoying me so I turned it off.

It's OK I've sorted it!!
To fix this issue...
Make sure everything is updated to the latest version including Facebook App (I say that because mine is and it's now fixed)
Open the Facebook app and, via Account -> Log Out
Lock your phone
Swipe the Facebook ticker and you should get the message "You need to be logged in to use this" or something like that
Click log in and allow the Samsung Galaxy app the permissions it requires
Should be fixed!
Please not I'm not a developer, this is my first android phone and I've had it for two days, so I won't be able to answer any technical questions however I figured it would be a Facebook permissions problem and using a bit of trial and error and a bit of common sense I've fixed MY issue. This might not work for YOUR issue.
I hope so though

[Q] Current G3 Owners: Can you install HTC Blinkfeed?

Hey all!
I am an HTC user normally, but HTC has alienated my completely with their "Ultrapixel" low res camera sensors.
The LG G3 looks like the phone I want to buy, but I was wondering if you are able to install the HTC Blinkfeed launcher from the Play Store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.htc.launcher&hl=en
Short URL for typing:
http://of.vg/blinkfeed
Can someone who owns the LG G3 see if it lets you install that launcher? I like Blinkfeed a lot on HTC, and I heard it can now be installed on some non-HTC phones.
Thanks a lot!
It seems incompatible for me.
Thanks a lot for testing!
Maybe it would be possible if we got the .APK file, i'll look after it and see if I can install it that way.
Someone already ported Prism launcher with Blinkfeed to Nexus 4 but people are installing it on phones other that N4 and it seems to work so you could give it a try

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735764
Yeah you can install it from XDA but the DPI is messed up, your widgets will be misaligned. You then need to root your phone, install the Exposed framework and the "app settings" module. Then you need to tinker with the DPI until the widgets align.

This was the only thing I missed about the HTC, now I have best of all worlds.
Ok installed this and got it working
To get it to work - download the Zip file first, install all the items there, then download the Color3 prism with the DPI fix and install that.

Recents Bug? ParanoidAndroid 4.5-BETA 2

Hello Paranoid Dev
I'm wondering why anyone has not mentioned about a bug in Recents.
If you want clear all recents apps, the (X) button on top right doesn't really working due to Recents Apps overlay.
The App Overlay is causing the button to stay visible in background, If you try to touch (X) button to clear the list, Which ever app is on overlay of that button will Open that App.
Basically to clear all apps from Recents, I have to manually clear one by one.
Here is the Pic link to show the visible bug

Why ask in the Dev thread and then post a new thread? ?
---------- Post added at 12:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:13 PM ----------
Plus your title suggests this IS a rom thread.
---------- Post added at 12:22 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:15 PM ----------
Yes, please don't start threads with [Rom]... It implied it is a thread containing an actual rom. ?
@mkdroid - I edited your thread's title because you made it the exact same as the Development thread title - that could be pretty misleading. Please refrain from doing that kind of thing in the future. Thank you.
Also, once you post a question in the development thread (assuming that is allowed by that developer) you should be done - no need to open an entire thread about the problem unless you are receiving no answer, or an unsatisfactory one, via the already on-topic thread.
Thanks!
Can't seem to get the camera flash to work. It works well when I use it as a flashlight. If I take a picture with flash on, the phone crashes. So I have to take pictures without flash.

I tried using both AOSP and the Google Camera, then other camera apps with the same flash problem. I then flashed back the stock 4.1.2 Official ROM to try to start all over again. I checked the camera with the stock and the problem occurred again. It seems somewhere along the way with flashing the camera in the phone started to fail. So it might actually be a hardware problem. It's an old phone with a stuffed camera (can still take pictures without flash, but somehow the flashlight app still seems to work). Might just flash back ParanoidAndroid 4.4.4 again, as it seems the problem is of the device itself.
Some users with weak batteries also reported this issue -- I think it may be something to do with how long the flash is. With earlier phones, brown-outs would happen upon LED flashing, so maybe this is a similar problem.
The lengthened flash causes too much current to be pulled from the battery, but since CPU's need more power than earlier phones, the entire device shuts down. As for the flashlight working, I think that it's at a lower brightness (or turned on gradually at the millisecond level). Either way, the symptoms are very similar.

Stopping apps from closing

Does anyone know how I can stop closing Spotify and tune in radio when I open the close app page? I know I can just do each app individually but if there's a few open and I press close all it does. I never had this problem on my P20 PRO. I've had a quick look in settings but can't really see anything
Cheers

you need to go into the power menu and make an exception for this app - cant remember exactly where but somewhere in the battery settings is an option that allows you to add exceptions on apps that can run in the background
OR
for s20 - add spotify to your locked apps (long press on the app icon in last used app list - and lock it) that would keep it running all the time

Just go to the settings menu > Apps and pick Spotify or whatever app is having the issue. Then tap on battery and make sure the app is allowed to run in the background. Also, check to make sure it is not optimized. Once the list of optimized apps loads up, filter for all apps and remove the ones that need to run in the background.
