I know with stock you get the network type above the signal bars, then the INOUT arrows inside the bars, but would it be possible, by theme probably, to make the icon to the side like it used to be on previous Android versions, or Samsung/Sony phones?
I have a triangle popping up in my status bar that I've been trying to identify. It only pops up sporadically and usually when I'm in a bad service area so I'm thinking roaming or something similar. I'm on Verizon, btw.
It means roaming
Hi I have a LG G4 Beat and when I enabled my mobile data the 4g/H+ icon is not showing besides the signal bar even if its connected and I can browse the internet using mobile. It works normal but no icon on status bar

You should see your mobile network icon above your wifi network icon, practically on top of each other. When one is being used or unused it is highlighted or shaded out appropriately. At least for me
What exactly do you want? If data is being used, how much data? or what?
I want to make sure when I'm at home or work that I'm on wifi and not using data
Well, there is an indicator just for this, beside the signal bars, if cellular data is being used, 2 arrows will appear, and the type of connection present, 2g, 3g, 4g or lte, so, what else do you need?
Cool tool (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ds.cpuoverlay) will allow you to actually see the quantity and or rate of data usage. Plus a million other options.

There's also QuickStar (or Quick Panel Star) on the *Samsung Store*.
Well, if the stock indicators are not good enough for you, as san diego says, there are more options via apps, You can try network monitor mini, it is highly customizable, it is a floating indicator, so, it will be always visible, can even auto hide when there is no traffic at all
