How is the camera, in your estimation?

eSIM available?

Did you have a camera update? How's the speed of autofocus? When I tried a demo unit in-store it suffered from af issues

I also have it in hand and I can say that the camera on mine focuses quick but not as quick as some other phones but it's definitely tolerable and not as bad as everyone puts it out to be

Most reviews have nailed it. There is definitely an issue with AF, certainly not horrible. But once fixed, it's will be a great camera. The 100x zoom is gimmicky. 10x and 30x are great though. 8k video is cool, but also a tad gimmicky in that it films at only 24fps and is a huge memory hog.

Not to worry, but you should check it out, it's pretty amazing what phones can do now.
I'm anxious to see if the exynos can keep up with the Adreno in the 865 this time. I've heard it's a lot closer than the past.

And will not trash it with GCAM. if i wanted a pixel cam i would have bought 2.

Why's that? I've heard different opinions on both chips.
Both negative and positive..I think it's down to the end user.
One thing exynos will have is an unlockable bootloader.

In the past the ONLY reason I chose (Exynos) was for unlockable bootloader. Now that Verizon is my primary carrier, I can no longer use them which is unfortunate. My last Exynos was the Note 9 and I never even got around to unlocking and customizing it. I will say it performed OK and battery life was satisfactory however I did not have the Snapdragon variant in my hands to directly compare to.

Don't quote me on this but may be like the Nexus 5x I read about. If you already have a nano sim card activated on vzw network to toss in you should be fine.
It was officially announced or at least has appeared over most of the Android blog sites that Verizon will support the unlocked A9 with a software patch sometime in December.
Droid Life review of the A9 says that it has "abysmal battery life" but is a contender for the phone of the year.

Oh, PULEASE, let's not resurrect that "who designed what first" discussion here!
I have a test A9. Battery life is not "abysmal." Doze mode is quite impressive. Camera is excellent, including OIS. No, I don't want it to replace my own M9, but it's a solid device (and, as always, better than any iphone).

Note 7 snapdragon or s7 edge exynos? Lag issues.

I have a Note 7 I got on contract through Bell. I overall like the phone but find it lags and studders at times... Especially with typing and app changing. The Bell Note 7 is the Snapdragon version. With the recall though Bell will let me exchange it for a S7 Edge if I want, which is the Exynos version. I'm not sure what I should do? Could just a new snapdragon note 7 I can get as the replacement be better or will performance be the same?
The snapdragon note7s are laggy and crap. Get the S7 edge if you want.. It wont lag.
Note 7 Exynox just fine...
Sent from my SM-N930F using XDA-Developers mobile app
I would ssy go with the option best for you.
If your Note is lsgging bad enough for you to come on here and ask the question then go with the S7 Edge.
If the lag only happens sporadically and you can cope with it then keep the Note 7.
Why did Samsung make a snapdragon and exynox version?
Sent from my SM-N930F using Tapatalk
Do you think this occasional lag is something that will be fixed with a software update? I will add I've notified some improvement from switching from Samsung Keyboard to Chroma keyboard.
I've got zero lag or stutter on my Exynos.
Sent from my SM-N930F using Tapatalk
Exynos model here and occasionally I get a complete slowdown and stutter of the device that's goes away on its own after a few minutes which is strange. The one thing I've noticed that helps my device is to continue to keep RAM cleared. I do a close all of recent apps every so often which seems to completely remove any of these sporadic slowdowns.
I do believe this is def an issue that will be fixed by software updates. I believe that it's a ram management issue at least on my device. Android nougat is a huge performance increase in my Nexus 6p so I'm real excited for nougat on this device

Same problem on my snapdragon unit...laggy...slow keyboard response..just not what i expected.
Ditched it and went exynos.....none of the above are now issues.
Not to mention there is traditional root avail, twrp, a kernel and roms out. Just that alone should be enough to get people to dump the crappy locked up snapdragon version.
And I say crappy because its BL locked not because its a crap device because clearly it is not.

I too got mine at Swiftronics, but afterwards I noticed bhphotovideo offers 1 year warranty (and a slightly lower price after tax, shipping, import fees, and then conversion to CAD). Thinking I would have gone with that if I realized the Swiftronics warranty is not clearly advertised on their site.

I think
1. it isnt worth creating a new device because sd821. The performance difference is not big. They should rather wait for hardware that makes a bigger difference.
2. by making the device 80$ higher many other brands could win oneplus3 owners in future.
3. they should simply wait till a device comes out that has better performance.
4. the price should always be 400$ and to make this fair they should simply wait till the oneplus3 gets old enough. It should always take atleast one year for a new phone to come out.
5. it doesnt make much sense to make a new device just because of sd821 because in theory its the exact same chip just slightly overclocked(higher silicium quality)
You may as well literally burn money if you have an OP3 and spend $480 on a device that will perform basic tasks about 0.00012 seconds faster. And honestly...even if you were potential first-time OP owner, it wouldn't make much sense to buy a OP3T over the OP3, especially if the price gets slashed on the OP3.
So my opinion is OP should focus their resources on an OP4 and not waste them on this rumored device.
I think it's a smartwatch
even with the s821 upgrade and upgraded camera sensors, it doesn't makes sense to upgrade the model. Oneplus should really stick to 1 device per year policy.

I'd pay an extra $80 for the faster CPU and a better camera sensor, (especially if the stabilisation in video works this time.)
However, if the new model is an LCD, I'd save the $80 and go for the current model.

Stabilisation is not dependent on sensor. It is another seperate hardware. For ex. Le Pro3 has the same IMX298 sensor but no image stabilisation at all.

IKR. It still works in 4k but non existent in 1080p. Most importantly it works in stills.
Probably the next update will fix it and also bring 1080p60fps. Should roll out in next 10-15 days
I'm mainly wondering if the rom development for 3t would be different to the original. If it was different, it would probably get less support because most people already have the original.
What do you guys think?

Wait for the 830 then 821 is only more efficient version of the 820 nothing more
There most likely won't be an 830 oneplus three. 830 will probably be in the oneplus 4. So it'll be another year. Assuming the 820 and 821 have similar drivers and firmware, they should technically be supoorted with same software. Any expert advice on this?

Yes, 820 and 821 are basically the same thing, just improved thermals and slight overclock. None of this should require differences in drivers or firmware, so same ROMs should work on both 3 and 3T (but different kernels or rather different kernel settings would be needed because of different core speeds).

As long as the ROM is pretty much the same on the 3T as the 3, a update for one should effectively be an update for the other.

According to the Pixel cost breakdown post on one of the android news sites 821 costs $50 so an $80 price increase wouldn't be so bad with a camera sensor thrown in :good: But the 821 run the same clock speeds on Pixel/XL my guess it's dependent on OEM if they OC the chip or not

$80 is a good price if $50 was the difference between 820 and 821 or the op3T will have dual processors
I think the difference between 820 and 821 is negligible and won't alone require a $80 raise
Wasn't there an issue with the Amoled display manufacturer having suppy issues, therefor the 3T would have an LED IPS screen instead of an Amoled one?
But even if that isnt true, just 80 in raise for the 821 isn't worth it.
Also a raise of 80 dollars means around 97 in the European union, yay for 21% VAT.
Seems like a waste of money if you ask me. totally not worth it.

Exynos 9820 vs Snapdragon 855 S10+ Gaming Comparison

Hey there,

I've heard that this controler really helps you improve your mobile gaming skills, but I'm not so sure about that, and that is why I need your opinion.

Thanks!

Should I buy Exynos S20 at 600€?

Is 600€ a good price for a new S20 Exynos, considering the downsides it has? Would you buy it?
The only "downside" if we are comparing it to the snapdragon version is the battery life, which is really not that good, and the gaming preformance. Otherwise, my s20+ exynos has not slowed down a bit since i bought it, it preforms like a champ.
I don't know who told you the battery life is bad on exybis but it's simply not true I've had my S20 for 2 weeks now and the first day I got 5h30 sot with 120hz now I get between 6-7 hours every time and on 60hz I get 8-9 if that is bad battery then I don't know what good battery is

The gaming performance is good at the beginning, as you play longer and when the phone heats up, it gets laggy.
I experienced this on pubg mobile and call of duty mobile.
You'll have to take ambient room temperature into account as well.. Im from a country near equator with temperatures up to 36degrees in the afternoon.
When the phone heats up, take a break, let the phone rest.. And play again 15 minutes later. It's not good for health to keep playing games continously anyway.
