Need urgent help please - Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Questions & Answers

Hi everyone. I just recieved my new note 10 plus from Amazon Turkey. Even before putting the sim card in i wanted to open and update to android 10. I opened and found out the phone is already at android 10 with december patch. How come? First thing i thought was this is a device someone bought and returned. Well Amazon not selling those devices back and returning them back to companies.
So short for long, is there anyone here bought a note 10 plus with android 10 update already installed. Or is it just me?

was the box sealed? it's not unusual for them to produce phones with the latest update at time of production.
if the phone was constructed after the release of android 10 it will likely ship with it, but again the main way to tell is never accept a phone with a broken seal, on Samsung products the seal actually tells you not to accept it if the seal is broken.

My N975W (canada) came with Android 10, December security update I believe.

Thank you both. I checked production date. 2020.1.14

[Q] Update for "unlocked" Samsung Focus WP7?

Hey guys - I have a question! I officially have an iPhone 4 with AT&T (that's what they have me listed as having). But I bought a Samsung Focus, and with the help of an adapter, have been swapping out my iPhone SIM card to use in my WP7 phone (I need to switch back and forth for work, occasionally).
The problem is, although I keep checking, my WP7 phone keeps showing that there is no update available for it... and I'm assuming its because AT&T has me listed as owning an iPhone 4 and not a Focus, and therefor they're not telling the phone that an update is available.
Am I correct? If so, is there another way I can get the update(s) for my WP7 phone?
Any help anyone could offer would be greatly appreciated...!
Not it. As for as anyone can tell, no US phone has recieved the update.
Aaah, ok! That's a great help to know! Thanks!

Just following up here; has the "Update The Updater" update come through for US users yet? To date, I've received NO updates for my phone whatsoever (I have an "unlocked" Samsung Focus that's using my iPhone 4 SIM).
With all this discussion about the NoDo update with Cut and Paste, I haven't even gotten the first update yet. Just thinking that's a little weird...
If you haven't already gotten the pre-update then you probably won't get it separately. It will be bundled with the NoDo update and once the NoDo update starts getting pushed out trust me you will know. Twitter, this board, other boards and tech blogs will be filled with "OMFG NODO!" posts.

Sticknfind work on galaxy s3!!!

I finally made it!!! I managed to connect my stickers, I write it here because I assume many other Indiegogo backers are dissappointed as well that even though they have s3 it won't work, the trick is to update the stickers, and this can be done only on 4.1-4.2 android or iphone.
so you have 3 options to update the stickers
1) find a friend with iphone 4/5 and connect the stickers to its phone, it will then ask you to update the sticker
2) find a friend with an older android version of galaxy s3 (4.1-4.2) and do the same (pair and update stickers)
3) for the more advanced/friendless type, unroot your phone to original stock rom (4.1) install sticknfind and pair and update.
I'm curious if they've managed to get the Stick'n'Find working on other Android phones yet? I bought six almost a year ago and they are worthless.

is samsung Note 2 protected from the wifi security krack?

Where can i check if i received this security update, is the krack wifi exploit hardware or software related
is it supposed to come from samsung(hardware) or google(software)
i think both of these companies ditched the note 2 years ago,
anywhere to check if i actually received the update? im only auto update, so i could've received it without my knowledge

Official updates for the note 2 stopped a long time ago.. So the answer would be no, you did not receive any patch, you can try custom roms which are regularly updated by developers and most will be patched sooner or later, but the official android provided by samsung has almost no chance of getting any patch, in fact I am sure it won't get any patches from Samsung. And Google in no way will provide support for phones from other companies.
that's too bad, seems like a waste of a good phone to purchase a new one,
Im going to install LineageOS, from what i read online, that one supports my phone and it seems to have a good community

Let's discuss official Samsung updates for the Tab S4

France is getting a new update with May security patch and a higher changelist number (16124683)
Do you know what's new? Or is it just improvements and security update!

Edit:
The latest update is T835UBS3BSG1 with July Security Patch Update
This is [email protected]
In Oz I have a generic Tab S4 and the last security update was December 2018... This is supposed to be updated by Samsung with NO carrier to delay the update...
Seriously, WTF!!! No Pie for me just an old Oreo...
I thought Treble was supposed to stop this stuff from happening...
Why not just flash a PIE Rom? I use all sorts of different Firmware versions to keep me updated xd

Yeah, and yet the Telstra model was updated last month.
I contacted Samsung, same song and dance about "don't know when your device will be updated"...
I thought it was google policy that the current devices were to be updated with security updates ASAP. My security policy is dated December 2018.
Considering this device is out there as a business device this is a major lapse in security as the vulnerabilities haven't been patched on what could, essentially be, a business device. Even if it's not being used by a business, I tend to use this device as a laptop replacement... A lot of personal data can be stored on here and not as secure as my phone...
Considering Samsung is a major player in the smartphone industry, this lapse is unforgivable, my S8 has just been updated to June security update and I don't have half the sensitive stuff I store on my tablet...
Shame on Samsung....

If you want to update your tablet, first of all backup all the data in your tablet and then follow this guide to update it with the most up-to-date firmware:

Samsung pushed a new update to many countries (T835UBS3BSG1) with July Security Patch Update
I am going to download it soon to see if they fixed the UI glitches in the previous update pushed to France XEF
You can check Samsung's official firmware update list, but they don't provide any new information. As you can see, Samsung only provide two types of updates - security and patch fixes and major UI changes. http://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-T835/XEF/doc.html

The SF4 update have many UI scaling issues, especially in the quick settings toggles (missing first row, missing auto brightness slider in landscape mode), I am flashing the new update (SG1) now via Odin and report back
For example
Dirty flashed the update (using Home CSC) without wiping anything
After reboot I got Samsung Experience Services force stop, updated it from Google Play Store and it is working fine now
Auto brightness slider is now showing properly in landscape, no missing toggles, July Security Patch Update
This is what I found now
They just pushed the Australian update about a week ago, it's now on the May security patch...
At least that's better than the 6 month old security patch they gave before but for a premium flagship this is still unacceptable...
People here know how to use ODIN and flash firmware but for the everyday consumer this is something over their heads...
I know that people will argue that this is an easy fix by coming here or doing a google search but seriously, think back to the 1st time you flashed your device. It as a scary thing knowing (or being blissfully unaware) that you could destroy your shiny new toy. Not to mention the amount of people who know how to use their phone but have NO idea how to do anything on the PC other than browse facebook and send emails...
When we buy our devices we buy the security that the OEM will push out updates to protect our lovely devices and when I pay out a small fortune I sorta expect that this will be the case. Especially when it is retailed as a business device.
Security is all...
You buy a cheap $100 tablet from some Chinese company no-one has never heard of you don't expect much more than the device starts up and works...
You buy from a well established company that has a HUGE presence in the market you are buying the security of having the best and latest.
For some markets this is not happening and that is disgraceful...
Rant over....

Totally agree, it is silly that Samsung pushing only quarterly security patch updates for their tablets
I have a question about these updates.
My last tablet was the Note 12.2. At that time it was awful if the tablet updated, it broke root and you couldn't get it back. So I'm paranoid about letting anything update. However I let that one sit since 2015 because it crashed I didn't have backup and wanted to someday recover newborn baby hospital pics and first Christmas pics. I've been without a tablet since.
I Get here to research the S4, the last with headphone jack tablet and it seems like you have to update to root. Is this right? I also swear I read that pie breaks a couple of programs on the s4, but I can't find the thread now.
Can someone clue me in since I appear to have fallen off the SOTA curve. Thank you for your help.
Hi all, today I got latest update with November security update. A nice feature has been added: smart view now allows resizing to destination screen ratio.
Did you find anything else?

What are the limitations of pie over Oreo? Is there a reason not to update?
Just recieved the Update in Germany. All data was deleted!
So Backup your data before installing.
I received the update a few days ago, and since then my tablet doesn't want to fast charge. Anybody has a similar problem?
Not here. I'm on Android 9 (pie) with Nov. 1 security update. I didn't notice any issues. First time I have ever seen Samsung get out a timely security update, it was only a couple of weeks after my Pixel (which is on Android 10).

Any one can tell me why Samsung Singapore Update verry slow?

I have Galaxy Note 10+. Software provider is SIN/XSC Singapore. I still not received Android 10 update. Also Galaxy S10 Series user still not get Android 10. 2 weeks now. Any one can tell me why Singapore update verry slow? Please tell me they send us Android 10?
Be patient. Malaysia just got the update
Yes i know malayasia already got the Android 10. But Singapore still not. Also S10 series users not get the update 3 weeks now ?
There are many, many countries not receiving the update untill now, I dont see why singapore should be among the first receiving it, or whatever

It takes as long as it takes... If you don't have the unlocked (the model that pulls it's updates straight from Samsung) variant for your region/country then your carrier has to approve the update before you get it.
Just be patient, lol.. I know it can be hard to do, but your not the only person who hasn't gotten the update. Spectrum Mobile hasn't given it's approval yet, so we still haven't gotten it. In fact we are still on the November security patch.
Honestly, after getting Android 10, there is not much excitements. I don't like the new gesture and I prefer to use One Hand Operation +. And I can't use with Nova launcher.
Force dark mode makes Facebook really weird and doesn't work on WhatsApp.
Other updates are just minor updates.
The only good thing for me is it fixes google messages rcs function
Ok thanks for your comments. Im from sri lanka my friends i mean note10+ users ( Not SIN/XSP ) they got update yesterday. Im the only one not get the update. Very late updates from samsung Singapore ?

I've talked to Singapore support and they said we will receive it in Feb. Unbelievable!!!!!
Unbelievable indeed. Most all other countries have it. I'm tempted to install 1 of the Android 10 ROM's that are already out "if" I can do so without having the base firmware installed 1st.
Well, dont be so anxious... Android 10 has some really annoying unresolved issues, it is already available in my country, but I blocked the updates, I am waiting for when all issues reported by many users are ironed out, so, in the end maybe it is a blessing for you that in your country is not available yet...
100% agree! I heard good lock is not working on android 10.

Android 10 just released in Australia this afternoon. Im on Vodafone with a Samsung direct supply device and just got the update by checking manually.
Version is N975FXXU1BSLA
https://doc.samsungmobile.com/SM-N975F/XSA/doc.html
Im glad i root it. I bought note 10+ coz of starhub promotions. And was disappointed not only official release is lack behind and trust me in near future too. But lack of third party roms kernels. Aosp havoc os etc. * U could use other countries csc or official release as long as same model.
