Did you try to use MiFlash tool? If you don´t want to use test point then probably you could enter to EDL using hardware buttons, in other Xiaomi devices that I owned the combination key was keeping pressed both volume buttons at same time (it´s an accuracy timing move) that you connect with PC, open device manager in windows and see if device is detected under Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008, install first the proper drivers https://www.themefoxx.com/2018/07/qualcomm-hs-usb-qdloader-9008-driver.html

Now this method won't work as flashing in EDL mode requires you to have an authorized account which xiaomi provides only to the service centers.

Will there be any way to install without the account?

Oops, I completely forgot this, all my previous devices didn´t need it (Mi Max, R5+, Mi8L, MiA2L). Anyway double check before to try something weird with this device, in many countries (including mine) no service center available for. Thx for the info.

That won't work either... it's a different thing..if your system is destroyed you'll get an error and your phone will still be able to boot to fastboot....if your phone doesn't boot to fastboot then you can't flash vbmeta.img

Any errors on screen or something?..or just black screen nothing else?
I cannot enter fastboot or recovery mode and the only way is EDL, but when installing ask for the authorized account, my question is if it can be installed by EDL without an account

Unfortunately..the answer is no... previously it was possible..but now xiaomi has changed it...it requires authorized account for edl flashing which xiaomi provides only to service centers

Have you try using edl method?
But at least can you access fastboot first, using power off + volume down
If you could, then it can boot into edl mode using tools provided from the internet, there are many of them
And flash fastboot firmware using MI flash or Qualcomm Flash Image Loader (QFIL)

Because I have another xiaomi device before, and it also get into penguin logo, and I can assure that my device has no installed os too
But because most of xiaomi phone chipset is Qualcomm, and Qualcomm device has edl mode, to flash image
And sure with my bricked device (stuck in penguin logo), I still able to access edl mode
But it was my old phone, not Redmi Note 5A, and I'm searching for how to enter edl mode on Note 5A, the process is you must use test point inside the device
Other than that, I don't know though
But if for my old phone (Redmi 2 Prime) the procedure is press volume down, then insert USB cable that connected to pc, then I can start to flash using QFIL

you can reflash ROM by using EDL method which you have to shortcircuit some pins to enter EDL, it is pretty easy if you have the tools. After reflashing it, reboot and it should be okay.

Hey,
I'm working for a farming company as IT, and one of the employees left the Company with a locked phone. Xiaomi has a pattern lock.
What I tried;
Factory reset,
ADB devices do not see any (when trying unlocking bootloader)
fastboot boot twrp(got msg "device is locked")
Mi Reset, but ADB doesn't see any devices
Any ideas?
used Android fastboot Reset tool and got msg "device is locked"

Hey im the maintainer of one of the custom roms for this phone you can look up on google how to use the test points if you short those with a tweezers or something it will go into edl and that should allow you to use miflash and completly reflash the stock rom.
Why don't you call him lol. Let's be honest you thought it was an iPhone X or something and stole it right?

Hello, i tried helping my grandmother by installing the global rom on her Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro WIFI, however as it didn't work i tried forcing the rom onto it by flashing it manually using fastboot, after this i am not able to power it on, or reach fastboot. It's just a black screen it doesn't matter how long you hold the power key it's just completely black.. Is there something i can do???? Or is it completely destroyed?
Global ROM is not available for PRO version. Probably you flashed a wrong one. Try flashing back the CN one matches your model.

Hello, yes same as me. Xiaomi needs a better way to unbrick its devices instead of Authorized Mi Accounts
Xiaomi has locked down the EDL mode on all of its devices, making it nigh impossible to unbrick a device without an Authorized Mi Account. Read on for more!

When it's plugged into the PC, is it recognised with "fastboot devices" or "adb devices"?
If it is you should be able to wipe with "fastboot -w" and start again.
Google detailed instructions.

Yeah, i've been doing all of that. I just now found out that there's an EDL cable specifically made for flashing in that mode
So I downloaded pixelos and wished to revert to stock miui, i was using the miflash tool and in the first few seconds my usb disconnected. Then i could not exit fastboot no matter what I pressed. I've tried to flash miui again but am getting the error "data transfer error" and "data transfer time unknown". I could really use the help. Thank you
This kind of crap happened to my Redmi K30 Pro as well. The only difference is that mine did not turn on anymore after I tried to restart it. Both Recovery Mode and Fastboot are unaccessible.
I think there's always a risk going from a custom rom back to miui, specially so when using fastboot.
If u can access EDL mode either via touch point or EDL Usb cable, do that and try flashing the MIUI again through Mi-Flash. Make sure you're using the same MiAccount and hope they will flag it as authorized, otherwise you'll be forced to take it to a service center and have the whole motherboard replaced.
You can also use QFIL but that's a unreliable tool and it always spouts out Sahara error messages.

I am not familliar with EDL mode, any tutorials you know to get into that? I really appreciate it.
Google is your bestfriend. If ur going with touch point method, know that it will void the warranty as you'll have to open it and short the pins, to invoke EDL mode.
EDL cable is advisable so try that first and follow the instructions that came with the package. It's a cable with a button.

Also can i try get TWRP again and try boot a rom from there, could that be possible?
If u can access the recovery mode then try that first.
For EDL mode, yes you have to use MiFlash for this. Make sure you're using the same Mi Account that you've used when you unlocked the bootloader and do not remove the device from the Mi Account. This way, it will recognized it as authorized and it will flash successfully.

you can remove antirollback, just edit those checkpoints on notepad it will run fine, be sure to flash correct firmware corresponds to your version and release, mine's global so i choose global
but since your problem is now on edl, well... hmm no one but with authorized mi account can bypass miflash tool. either take it to xiaomi directly if it was covered with warranty hoping to get it fixed

This is my understanding. You have 2 options:
Go to Xiaomi Service Center and let them repair it (worth trying/checking out, even if out-of-warranty I think!).
Or, contacting someone who's got an Authorised Xiaomi Account who'd be able to flash the ROM. That's what I did:
I contacted a group on Telegram, got in contact with the moderator. Paid 23€ over PayPal. Needed to wait a few hours for his technician to become available for me. I had to send him TeamViewer session credentials, so he can remote-connect to my PC. He was then available and connected to my PC. I had prepared with the latest MIUI Fastboot ROM and made sure my phone is connected and detected by Windows as a QCOM device. He downloaded some zipped piece of software, opened it, had to move out the TeamViewer session and came back and entered some kind of a Token into that program. He then used Mi Flash (I don't know if *my* Mi Flash, or from his downloaded zip-file), flashed the ROM and it worked.
Actually, during the flash in Mi Flash, my phone disconnected once, which was my fault though. He got a little annoyed, but he flashed it the second time and it worked.
It sounds very sketchy, but it's what I did, and it worked.

I did. My phone didn't auto-enter EDL Mode. I've heard that if the Qualcomm SOC detects that the bootloader can't be booted, it automatically alternates to the EDL Mode, which resides on the SOC itself, is read-only, and can't be erased.
Didn't happen for me. My suspicion is that my phone was able to boot into the BL, but couldn't load anything (Fastboot, Recovery, System..), and so it was stuck there instead of in EDL Mode.
I could've bought a Deep Flash Cable, but I didn't. I think I wanted an excuse to open up my phone "What could possibly go wrong?" =)
