Question Bricked Mi PAD 5 PRO CN - Xiaomi Mi Pad 5

Hello, i tried helping my grandmother by installing the global rom on her Xiaomi Mi Pad 5 Pro WIFI, however as it didn't work i tried forcing the rom onto it by flashing it manually using fastboot, after this i am not able to power it on, or reach fastboot. It's just a black screen it doesn't matter how long you hold the power key it's just completely black.. Is there something i can do???? Or is it completely destroyed?

Global ROM is not available for PRO version. Probably you flashed a wrong one. Try flashing back the CN one matches your model.

Hello, yes same as me. The tablet are in the 9008 edl state when you put it on your computer. there are many flashing tools out there, the problem are the flash authentification from xiaomis side. i prepared a empty pc with windows 10 and loaded the last fastboot image. then i got a telegram contact from a russian guy who was able to use the xiaomi auth procedure, cost me 30 dollar and 3 days to find out this crap

Xiaomi needs a better way to unbrick its devices instead of Authorized Mi Accounts
Xiaomi has locked down the EDL mode on all of its devices, making it nigh impossible to unbrick a device without an Authorized Mi Account. Read on for more!

When it's plugged into the PC, is it recognised with "fastboot devices" or "adb devices"?
If it is you should be able to wipe with "fastboot -w" and start again.
Google detailed instructions.

Unfortunately no, i do not get any response from fastboot whatsoever, there's no device detection in either fastboot or device manager. I even tried on my laptop which is brand new still no sign of life

Don't give up yet!
Charge the tablet with another cable that you know works.
Make sure that you have the most up to date version of Platform Tools.
Make sure that when you're in the Command Prompt that you are in the Platform Tools folder.
Check connections with another device....

Dead Hardbricked MI 9 SE

Hello everyone, I have rooted and used my MI 9 SE for at atbout one month normally. Today, phone discharged and since that time after charged, Iam not able to boot everywhere, except "fastboot screen", while trying anything like (power and +; power and - etc..) phone always vibrates and boots into fastboot screen.
unfortunatelly, I so far I havent managed to connect it to PC and reflash anything, it is not visible and does nothing, when try to connect to PC (tried all USB ports etc).
Also MI flash tool doesnt do anything with that, so, any idea or solution?
Thank you, sorry for my english.

Are you using USB 2.0 or USB 3.0?
Edit: there is this: https://www.xiaomitool.com/V2/
I used this to unlock my bootloader, though I've noticed that it has "unbrick" feature, whatever that may be, haven't tried it before, see if it helps. If you cannot get fastboot working, you're in deep sh*t.
I'm afraid I can't help beyond this, I never bricked a phone badly enough to ruin fastboot, so at this point I'm clueless what you can do other than returning the phone. They unbrick it for you and the warranty wont be void but you'll have to pay.

After booting you have to reboot to bootloader and reflash twrp (if you need them) and if you want to flash some dev rom wipe: DALVIK, CACHE and DATA ONLY from WIPE menu, NOT System, than flash dev rom if you like ...

Pattern lock remove

Hey,
I'm working for a farming company as IT, and one of the employees left the Company with a locked phone. Xiaomi has a pattern lock.
What I tried;
Factory reset,
ADB devices do not see any (when trying unlocking bootloader)
fastboot boot twrp(got msg "device is locked")
Mi Reset, but ADB doesn't see any devices
Any ideas?
used Android fastboot Reset tool and got msg "device is locked"

Hey im the maintainer of one of the custom roms for this phone you can look up on google how to use the test points if you short those with a tweezers or something it will go into edl and that should allow you to use miflash and completly reflash the stock rom.

Question Soft Bricked T-Mobile OnePlus 9 Pro

So, I soft bricked my TMO OP9P. I can still access Fastboot but can't access anything else. After leaving fastboot, when the phone is rebooting, I just get a black screen.
On plugging it in, It shows up in ADB as unauthorized, and with no prompts to authorize, I can't get any further.
Any ideas?
I did that to an HTC U11 once - Never got it recovered, had to toss it...
Never dared relock a bootloader since...
I had the same thing happen to me.
The only thing that worked for me is to boot recovery and wipe system. Good luck

i have the same problem let me know if you figure out a way around this !
For all of you having this issue, simply use the msm for your respective device by unplugging your phone, select power off, enter edl mode with cable plugged in and run the tool. I know another solution, but please PM me if this one doesn't work.
I had this issue as well, but you better not have messed with the sensitive partitions without a backup, otherwise there's no way to repair it.

Did you try booting your phone into EDL mode? Hold down both the volume buttons, and while holding them down, plug in the USB cable (Connect with the PC). If you're on Windows, check the device manager in the control panel, and check if the PC recognized the phone (you might need to install the drivers too).

i have the le 2127 from tmobile because i didnt know any better. i dont want to root or do anything crazy. I just want to be able to flash to global or eu firmware so i can upgrade as oneplus releases the updates and not be a year behind on tmobiles schedule. I have the sim and bootloader unlocked successfully. I started to flash to the one plus 9 firmware because i somehow missed that it did not say pro. So now my phone in unresponsive except for QDL 9008 mode. MSM tool recognizes it and begins to update it but then gets a param preload "device not image match" message in red and stops. So once i figure out how to get past that and get this set to factory, i want to properly flash it to global or eu, whichever is available, and upgrade it to the latest version.

Are you getting the mismatch on the global/eu MSM or are you trying to flash back to stock T-Mobile? You're getting a mismatch because you're most likely using the wrong version of a firmware (msm).

Question hardk brick. no fastboot. no recovery.

I was trying xiaomi.eu on my global alioth. the current version for global is 12.5.4 but the one on xiaomi.eu is 12.5.8
using fastboot to update my phone, after a few minute phone went to the black screen forever. I can't even go to fastboot or recovery anymore.
although it's only showing a black screen, have you tried plugging phone in and running cmd 'fastboot devices' to see if phone shows at all?
also, have you tried holding power down for a good 20-30secs to reset/reboot device?
EDIT: read too quick... xiaomi.eu, no miflash used...

I bet you anything you and him had something go wrong with your PC. I restart my PC right before I flash anything and I close all application's and stop everything. While it flashes I don't touch my computer at all. I would assume that you guys might play on your PC while it's trying to flash thinking it's fine. Also you should use data cable or cable that came with it. Cheap cables are junk that's why they are cheap.
There is option to try EDL testpoint method when your phone is totally dead. It means you open your phone, connect testpoints and your phone would be visible for pc in device manager as qc9008 port.
Next step- you cant flash the rom by yourself, it requires authentication. There are "helpers" for that. I found one in Telegram and it took about 20usd and 20 minutes to boot the phone from dead brick (MI9T davinci).

Working in IT for years, and all I can say if it would be true, we would have serious issues. It's not like windows 98 anymore, you can actually use your computer as a multitasking device. Like there aren't like 10000 processes without playing games. It's always easier to blame them, for doing "wrong" things while flashing. The only "wrong" thing you can do while flashing is pressing cancel or the reset button.

Question Hard-Bricked Poco F3 (shocker). Won't boot into EDL.

Hello peeps.
My Poco F3 got hard bricked after update froze (was doing clean install of stable EU rom). Phone won't boot into any mode, and won't appear on pc. I've tried sorting the Test Pins 50 different ways and it still doesn't get picked up by the pc. Qualcomm Drivers are installed. Device is connected with working data transfer USB cable. It definitely is getting charge cause Battery and CPU are hotter than the rest of the phone. I'm at complete loss, I have no idea what I'm doing wrong or if I screwed up my phone that bad that EDL also doesn't work. Thanks for anyhelp!
1. Disconnect the battery
2. Make USB-Cable ready for Insertion
3. While shorting the 2 Test-pins, connect the USB-Cable
This is how I had to do it. ^^ This can be difficult and may require multiple trials, but this should work!
Windows should make the "Hardware connected"-Sound directly after connecting the USB-Cable, and show "Qualcomm 9008" in Device Manager.
If not, you need to repeat it: disconnect USB, short the 2 Test-pins and connect USB again. All while leaving battery unplugged.
Note: EDL Mode can't be bricked. This read-only Mode resides inside the Qualcomm SOC. There would have to be physical (hardware) damage for this to not function.
If you need more assistance or so, I can give you my Discord. Though you already seem quite far. Good luck dud.

I am assuming the phone screen does not light up at all, no fastboot or recovery mode.
This would mean the phone's hard bricked. It will require EDL flashing which can be done by someone with an authorised Xiaomi account.

Yes. Just to be safe I would flash the rom with "clean all" instead of "clean all and lock" if I were you. Then after booting up the phone you can later lock the bootloader safely using "fastboot oem lock" in adb.

Yes. Just to be safe I would flash the rom with "clean all" instead of "clean all and lock" if I were you. Then after booting up the phone you can later lock the bootloader safely using "fastboot oem lock" in adb.

Ok thanks but why ? Fastboot oem lock is better ?

In case of "clean all and lock" if something goes wrong during flashing, the bootloader will be locked and you will not be able to fix the phone. So it is safer to flash the rom first without locking the bootloader and then lock it after booting up.

It will not.
If the Flash aborts, it won't even get to the stage of locking the bootloader.

Because if you lock bootloader while flashing a rom with a different region than what came in the box, you will hard brick your phone
