Can you unlock network bands with software or CSC change? - Samsung Galaxy Watch

Hey all
I've got a Galaxy Watch 4G SM-R805F (firmware? SM-R805FZSASWSC with software version R805FXXU1FSL3) which I bought from someone in France off eBay - default language was German though so it may have been sourced from there.
I'm in New Zealand and there's only one provider that supports eSim watches (Spark NZ). Over LTE my watch works fine for data and texts and can sync with my phone remotely, but I can't make or receive any phone calls on the watch or use 3G at all. Spark believes the watch I've got doesn't support the 3G bands they use for voice calls, and I'm hoping that this is a software issue rather than a hardware one seeing as their the same base model. The NZ firmware appears to be SM-R805FZSAXNZ.
Is it possible that either changing the firmware or software, or changing the CSC region could let my watch use the 3G bands that the NZ version of the watch uses? Or is this a hardware limitation I just can't get around?
Thanks!

XNZ leads to OXX region... SM-R805FZSAXNZ

Sorry... NO ehm LOW chance to switch from OXX to OXA nor from OXA to OXX...
I saw nobody trying hard enough... but I never saw somebody with success... last 3 4 years... with LTE Watches from Samsung...

Yes my mistake it was SWC. Even if we could change it from OXA to OXX (is this just a firmware change?), would that have any impact on the 3G compatibility? I don't care about Samsung Pay or anything else, just getting voice over 3G working.
Cheers!

Yes its possible! What you need is to enable the hidden menu "Network Mode" inside Settings. Then you will have the option to select "3G Only". After that watch calls / SMS should be working fine.
This is the procedure I followed:

[Q] samsung galaxy note 2 shv-e250L variant concerns, help

hi! i am new here. i would like to ask a few questions regarding my samsung galaxy note 2 shv-e250L. pardon if some of the questions have been asked before, it is just i am new and i would prefer to make a new post so my questions would be specifically answered on this post. hopefully, you would all be kind enough to answer my queries. i would be very thankful.
anyway, here goes:
i have opened the hidden menu of the phone and it led me to this- please look at the following:
network setting/1. network mode
automatic
wcdma 1900
wcdma 2100
wcdma all
gsm 900
gsm 1800
gsm 1900
gsm all
lte b5
lte b1
lte all
since shv-e250L has the 850 and 2100 bands as mentioned in wikipedia , so i will only be able to use an lte capable smart sim which is being offered to prepaid subscribers. however, my questions regarding this screenshot are these:
a. what if i won't choose the automatic preference and change it to any of the choices, will it affect my lte signal?( that is if i am going to use the smart lte sim)
b. what do those lte b1, lte b5, lte all signify?
c. what does wdcma and gsm mean? what do they pertain to?
d. if i change any the choice from automatic to any of those, will it affect my text and call? or just the internet on my phone?
please look at this too. the following are:
lguhiddenmenu
1. ims volte settings
2. ims volte sip reg
3. ims volte error table
4. ims volte roaming setting
a. what does volte mean?
b. can i change any of the settings here?
c. will it affect the text, call, internet of the phone if i change any of the settings?
for example, look at the following:
volte setting/1. ims volte settings
lte/3g server dns is pcscf1.lteims.co.kr
wfi server dns is wifi.lteims.co.kr
server ip is 10.113.13.75
server ip2 is this allows you to enter a string
server ip3 is this allows you to enter a string
lte/3g-dns or ip(1=dns) is 1
wifi-dns or ip(1=dns) is 1
pco is 1
server domain is lte-lguplus.co.kr
lte/3g server port is 5060
a. can i change anything above?
b. these addresses pertain to korea, can i change these and will it affect the call, text, internet on the phone?
c. or should i just leave it?
i have been reading some posts about flashing shv-e250 models with different roms. i do not know anything about flashing or rooting because i have not tried it ever on my phone. so far on some posts, some users like the rom n7105 for the note 2. i would like to ask some questions about this.
1. if i flash my phone with the n7105 rom and install the kernel appropriate for the shv-e250L, will there be changes on the phone? can you give examples? will there be functionality of the phone missing like vibration, or etc? most of all, will the phone lag?
2. follow up to number 1, i want my phone to stay the same actually, that is with the same functionalities with the shv- e250L and i am contented with it but i just want to make the sms character count to 160 just like the regular phones(i tried handcent, sms pro, but sometimes they won' t even send more than 160, it is inconvenient); remove those korean apps because i won't be able to use them anyway; everything in english since i do not know korean; be able to see my phone number and the network provider in the settings. that is all. as for the rest, i want everything to stay the same. is the n7105 rom capable of these things and still have all the functionalities of the shv-e250 L?
3. what does kernel mean and what will it do to the phone ? in this case, changing the kernel to the kernel provided in this site for korean note 2s.
4. in wikipedia, samsung note 2 n7105 has bands 800,1800,2600. if i flash the phone with n7105 rom, will it have these bandwiths too? or the bandwidths of the shv-e250L will still remain even after flashing with n7105?
5. if ever there is a new update for the shv-e250L, how will i update since the rom is already n7105? or should i update using the n7105?
6. if i decide to change back to shv-e250L, how will i do that?
7. last question, i have kies on my computer, and downloaded some apps for the note 2. the shv-e250L is not recognized by the samsung appstore ph. is it because it is a korean phone ?? i tried switching to samsung appstore korea but the language i do not understand. if i flash it with n7105, will it be recognized by the samsung appstore ph as n7105? or what country- samsung appstore us or what particular country i mean? and will i be able to download apps now from the kies on the computer.
p.s. there are times when i do not use internet on the phone and since the computer at my house has internet, just dsl not wifi, so i use that in case someone will wonder why i just don't download using the internet on my phone.
this is all for now. thank you so much. for those who are going to answer and render patience, thank you.
pardon moderators if i made a mistake in any way regarding posting.
have a great day everyone!
any one? help please
You waited 10 hours to ask why no one had followed up? Patience is a virtue my friend.
You can pay with those settings if you want, but there is also a good chance you might break your phone. The menu's hidden for a reason, you aren't going to be able to activate lots of amazing features.
The answers to almost every question you've asked are to be found in these forums already. Spend a bit of time reading and searching.

EXACTLY.. plus am I correct in saying that the op will only get an LTE signal if its carrier supported. In which case if you leave it on auto in the settings he will get the best signal at present with the present carrier hes with... ps I wouldnt mess with any of those settings unless your completely 100% sure of what your doing..
Also as this is a question and query it should of been posted in Q and A section.

Can't get 3g to work

Hello, I just got a Note 2, I got it on amazon.
But I can't get to connect to my 3g network. I live in el salvador, and our 3g network works on 900mhz which my Gt-n7100 suppose to work, but it just fails anytime.
At first I fought it was a fake note, but everything looks good, amazing screen, good s-pen, really fast, touchwiz, etc.
(I have a note I so I can compare) . the only thing is that it says that it has a total of 24gb of storage (weird).
I downloaded the genuine app, and it says that It is genuine.
So how can I make it work , If I check GSM only, it does connect to the network (calls, data just GPRS even tough EDGE should work) , but when I check WCDMA only It finds the network but it fails on registering.
I tried to update on the phone, but it fails, I will try with KIES and see if that works.
But please help.
Thanks
P.S I should note that my modem number is XX (which it's supposed to be europe countries) does it has anything to do?
I remember a while ago that I flashed an htc, I had to flash the radio band, so It can pick my countries frequencies? could that be?
thanks

Check your APN settings. I got this problem few days ago. Just set ur apn to default. Use this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tweakker
As for the 24 gb, u might have gotten the 32gb variant.
Smack that thanks button if I helped.

thanks, but it's not that the data isn't working, I cannot even connect to the WCDMA network so no calls, no data.
It works on "GSM ONLY" well kinda, cause in my last phone when I was on GSM only it had EDGE connection, but this one has GPRS.
I have set the correct APN for my carrier. But I cannot even connect to the network.

about your 3g,i dunno about that because there many fix solution...some said just factory reset, some said modem is the problem and flash other modem may fix it...you can try bring it to local shop and ask them
Just one question, If the genuine app, says that it is genuine? that's trustable?
I am just worried that It might be a knock off after all, but everything on the phone seems excellent.

I've done that, but it only works on GPRS not in 3g .
Also, when I check for the network operators on all the phones I got, I always get all the carriers, but in this phone I can only get one.

cause in the settings I don't get WCDMA/GSM , but LTE/WCDMA/GSM. But the GT-N7100 doesn't have LTE.

maybe some expert here can help
Please If anyone can Help.
I bought this phone because my old phone (xperia ion) only supported the 900mhz frequency on GSM, so I could only get EDGE speed.
This phone (NOTE 2) it's supposed to support 900mhz in the HSDPA, but I can't get it to work only on GSM and with GPRS (slower than EDGE)
PLease, I really need help
Okay, so I was trying to do the ARIZA patch, because my serial number is 00000000 and I couldn't connect to any networks.
When I put my phone into download mode, it was all in korean and it says product name: SHV-E250S, which is supposed to be the korean note, but it doesn't have an antenna like the phones I have seen.
Could this be that this phone is really screwed???? Cause it like a gt-n7100 on the rom but has LTE, and doesn't pick any network .
If this real the korean it only works in this band 1900, 2100, which none of my carriers in my country use them...
Would you say I try to root it and try to patch??

VoLTE not funcional with S9 Exynos

Hi there, greetings from Brazil. I just purchased a Samsung S9 SM-960F (XEF) from France, running Exynos. I am being able to use it here (Brazil) with 4G, both sim cards, however VoLTE calls are not active. I have it selected on networks settings and my sim card activates it on my wife's S10e. It seems that the issue is somehow related to the device. Is there any setting or procedure that needs to be done in order to activate it? I have already hard reseted the device and it is still not working.

voLTE is something that is carrier dependent and can sometimes need provisioning in the telephony switch. Could be as simple as that particular line not having it enabled on an account level. It could very easily be a firmware thing too. My carrier offers voLTE but i lost that option in my settings menu when i flashed the U1 firmware. I bet it would come back if i flashed an at&t firmware set tho even tho im using an at&t mvno
It is carrier dependent. I have a dual SIM Exynos S9 here in the US. I have a Mint SIM (T-Mobile MVNO) in one slot and VoLTE & Wi-Fi calling work just fine. The other SIM is a Cricket SIM (AT&T MVNO) and, of course, there is no VoLTE or Wi-Fi calling on that line. Cricket only supports those features in phones they sell and, of course, iPhones.
Yeap, I got the point that VoLTE is carrier dependent. The issue is that my Brazilian Carrier (VIVO) does support VoLTE in my region and I was able to confirm it by inserting my simcard in my wife´s smartphone (Samsung S10e). I have been reading some articles and threads about CSC and other stuff, like firmware flashing. As I told, my device is a S9 SM-G960, with XEF (France) firmware version installed on it.

if the S10e is allowing voLTE, then it has the firmware built in for voLTE which might be particular to the the S10's, but thats something for the S10 forums. Regarding the S9, it needs the carriers firmware in order to utilize the voLTE feature

Galaxy Watch Active 2 LTE - Unable to make/receive calls

Hi folks,
I recently bought an Active Watch 2 and already have a Vodafone UK mobile account to which I added the One Number service.
I've discovered that on my watch while on 4G, I cannot make or receive phone calls.
There is definitely a data connection there, as I can send a text message or use the Internet browser app to view a website.
What happens is I dial a number, I get 2 beeps and then a Call Ended message. I've spent over 10 hours on the phone/chat to Vodafone trying to get this resolved to no avail. I've done a number of resets, SIM swaps etc.
This morning I noticed on the watch under Settings in the Phone app, that there is an option for "Preferred Number for Calls" which is greyed out and set to 'Watch'. I'm sure at one point when I first got the watch I was able to select Phone or Watch. Could this have something to do with it? Is the VF network blocking the call because the watch is trying to phone from the One Number secondary number instead of my contract phone number ?
Any help appreciated!
Hey there.
I have the exact same problem myself, my carrier is o2 and have an Active2 LTE.
Set everything up through the esim QR Code. I am the £5 data per month, and yet am unable to make or receive phone calls through LTE / Wi-Fi. No issues though with data and messaging.
It occasionally worked when I first set it up a couple of months ago, but since the latest Tizen update to 5.0 something, there is no option under 'remote connection' in the Galaxy Wearable app to make/receive calls. When testing my original Galaxy Watch out, the call option is there and it is on Tizen 4.0 and I am able to make WiFi calls.
At first I thought the issue was with o2 but am now thinking it is related to Samsung services. Via Bluetooth the Active2 works fine with call functionality but through WiFi/lte, nothing. The odd issue as well, is that, when testing through LTE on the watch it remotely connects very briefly to the phone when attempting the call but then the phone automatically disconnects from remote dialling.
I would say that it is definitely software related, I also have tried all troubleshooting issues and more with no luck.
Hey there. Have you managed to get a fix for this?
I have been in contact with both o2 and Samaunf on this very issue and Samsung are saying to send it in for repairs. I am very dubious though that it is a hardware issue, rather software related.
Hi I have now got both a galaxy watch and a galaxy watch3 here in the UK to now work stand alone on a pay as you go ESIM and wondered if some of my findings may help.....
First the Galaxy Watch i bought second hand on an auction site
it had been on EE in the UK and when i first loaded an esim on it I could not make calls or connect to the network...
I looked under settings connections mobile networks only to find that there was no option to select 3g / 3g4g mode ....
Hence the unit was setup only to connect via 4g data ....by default ....and so would only send Voice calls over LTE ...and hence when i changed the ESIM from EE yo Vodafone I could not make calls or SMS ...and only had emergency calls over vodafone if i was in a 4g service area with no ability to search for or connect to 3g
So I downloaded OXX versions of the firmware instead of OXA for the UK ...and i got the earliest version i could find.
Then loaded it onto the watch ... then I checked the CSC and EE where using a non BTU CSC code so first...
I changed the CSC to BTU so I could support non EE ESIMs
Next I Uploaded an ESIM from Vodafone via Galaxy Wear on a samsung phone over a bluetooth link after first activating
the esim test feature of wear app to enable QT code scanning to load the ESIM.
The OXX firmware activated the 3g 3g-4g section option under settings connections mobile networks so i could enable 4g/3g auto selection .....then the watch could find and connect to 3g or 4g networks and make voice calls and send / recieve sms.
then I put the watch into firmware download mode to install OXA firmware ...and it was an the oldest version i could find
the watch rebooted and so i now had OXA firmware with the 3g-3g/4g toggle still present under settings.
checked it was on 3g-4g auto selection.
then I enabled Dexv mode and made sure the CSC was still on BTU for generic UK ....it wasnt it had changed so I reset it to BTU
then I upgraded the firmware to the latest version via wear app ...
So end up with a generic BTU UK CSC with the latest Firmware BUT with the 3g/4g selection option under mobile networks.
with another service providers ESIM installed 3g/4g to auto select and it all works fine.
hence myadvice is if you dont have 3g/4g then the watch may be locked to 4g ONLY and VOLTE as its only mode with the CDC set to something generic EE for example...
Hope this is of assistance as many conplain that the watch wont work stand alone for voice calls or sms properly
my days of time and many esim tests until i got 3g support and 3g-4g auto load lead mr to think that the watch is often
locked to 4g data and VOLTE only ....
I now have done this on watch and watch 3 models with full sucess stand alone pay as you go esims ....with the watch fully stand alone...working like a normal cell phone ....with esim service with a different provider to the sim in my samsung phone
comment please .... hope that helps
Hi. My problem is different from this. I can make and receive calls from My Active2 LTE and I can also send text messages. However, I cannot receive text messages. Basically I bought this watch to rely on this for calls and messages and this got totally disappointed me.
Any advise on how we can receive text messages?
I have had this problem too. The issue is in phone settings. Go to ADVANCED FEATURES and turn on ALLOW CALLS ON OTHER DEVICES also turn on mobile data in this setting.

SM-N975U1 Signal Issue

Hello everyone,
I bought Galaxy Note 10+ (SM-N975U1). I'm using it in Germany.
I found out recently that my Phone is US-Version with CSC Code XAA/XAA/VZW.
Is the CSC Code the cause for my bad signal?
Can someone confirm it?
I searched everywhere, how to change the CSC. But it looks like without Root or unlocked Bootlader it is not possible.
After my research my phone is not possible to be unlocked. (FYI it has Bootlader Version 7)
Is there something I can do or I missed it.
I would appreciate every help. Thank you

The CSC is set to unbranded based on what you're showing. Do you know which bands you are trying to pick up that are not working? The issue is even if CSC can be changed "which it can", it will only change to US carriers primarily.
Who's your carrier?

I have no data connection inside building.
Sometimes my phone can't be used for calls. It show "Only Emergency Call".
My wife has the same provider like me, she has full 4G reception or at least 2G.
