I have been using the LGOG for a couple days now and im already starting to notice some scuffs and small scratches on the back of the phone. However, the glass on the front is still as beautiful and flawless as new. I'm pretty sure that i've read somewhere that both the front and back of the LGOG uses gorilla glass 2? Shouldn't they be equally strong? Does anyone else have this minor issue?
Btw, i never ever keep my keys and my phone in the same pocket.
Even the gorilla glass can be scratched.
By the way gorilla 2 is a thinner version of the first gorilla.
My one is still new.
Nothing at all on mine. Even dropped it a good number of times but not a mark at all, still looks as though it just came out of the box. No screen protector or case either. Maybe I'm just lucky?
great phone
I dont think the back has gorilla glass. Ive dropped it twice the front of the phone is flawless but the back seems to have taken some scratches and it wasnt even dropped from very high
Just found a mysterious scratch about 1 inch long on the back of my LGOG. I doubt that the back is gorilla glass now.
I got a scratch on my front glass, which is the gorilla glass for sure.
Phone felt from table, have no idea how its possible, cause floor in my house made of wood and its clean.
I just got my Mate 20X and love it (thanks FunkyHuawei!). I am waiting on accessories to arrive from China. While I wait, I am using the Huawei installed screen protector. It is funny, the first few days I used this with the plastic film on the front while waiting for the screen protectors to arrive but last night when I removed that film to install the temp glass protector I got I noticed it seems to have a protector already installed. FunkyHuawei said Huawei installed that.
Does anyone know, is this Huawei installed protector any good? Should I just use it until it shows wear and then replace it or maybe replace it now? It looks good, seems to cover well and no other issues I can discern.

Huawei put covers on there phones i find them pretty good I'll buy new when this gets used
Just changed the OEM one off my M10P before I gave it to my nephew. The original lasted about 6 months for me.
Are the ones they use temp glass or film, hard to tell without picking at it?
Do they still have zero oleophobic coating underneath the factory screen protector like on the P10 and some of their other phones or did they stop doing that?

Film on oem. To me the tempered glass one's feel better once you change but I had to turn on gloves mode after that.
I noticed it to and was wondering how it got on there. Thought the dealer might have put it on.
Lol it seems this phone has two screen protectors on first one can be pulled off but there is a second that is very hard to see but its there. I was quite surprised as you can hardly notice its there unless you pick at it from the corner.
I don't use screen protectors on my phones. Any harm or benefit if I remove the factory installed one from Huawei? Screen angles better? Responsiveness better?
I never took the Screen cover off mine when I got it, I peeled the white remove tab off the screen cover, and it will stay that way until the plastic wears out or peels off.
Only took mine off for tempered glass. Otherwise they're very good
I received my phone and am puzzled by the screen protector. I detect a rising at the corners, so I thought it had a protector or film, but when I tried to take it off, it didn't want to come, so I thought it might be part of the screen.
Then I noticed that there was some distortion on the screen. While playing with it, I ran a fingernail over it, and created another mark in the screen. I was freaked out, but apparently it's a really well put on screen protector? I'm happy to leave it on, but does anybody know how to buff any slight creases out of it?

That's a film screen protector. I remove it from the very first second and i install the Tempered Glass One.
VERY FUNNY. I put a glass screen protector on top of the factory film protector, which I did not notice until many days after. I only knew that is a removable film until I read this thread. The double screen protectors apparently worked fine for me, and now I feel super strong.
I have the s10+ for about a week and loved the stock screen protector, I usually use films like imak hydrogel and they can last easily 3 months before getting too scratched. The stock film is perfectly installed and sometimes I forget this screen has one as the touch feeling is very close to glass.
Though how many of you kept it and for how many weeks/months ?
Almost 3 months. No problems with it.

its really good, best plastic / stock screen protector in recent years
My stock screen protector seemed to get scratches even in just my pocket dedicated for just my phone. I took it off and installed an InvisibleShield Ultra Clear and it's great. Granted, the stock screen protector felt better.
I scratched it with my nail by accident and it made a dent/scratch, ripped it off later that day

Some plastic screen protectors have auto-healing, some minor scratches go away after 24-48h, dunno if the stock one is like that

I liked the stock screen protector for about a month until I tried using the Ringke case. It destroyed the corners of the screen protector. Wish I had known beforehand.
I still have mines on even though it's all scratched up. Wished I took more care of it.
I'm going to keep mines on until I find a really trustworthy tempered glass screen protector that works great with the fingerprint scanner, so for now my scratched up preinstalled screen protector will suffice.
There are people who said it's the best screen film they had and is trying to buy the same Samsung one, but the one Samsung is selling is not the same one that came preinstalled.

Perhaps because the pre-installed one was posed by a machine with perfect precision, when you install a film protection yourself you will always have a 1/4 of mm difference or worse bubbles or micro dusts under it giving orange skin look under good light.
I like imak hydrogel films since the s8, but spigen are also good
keeping the pre installed screen protector on until it gets ugly. so far only a couple of little scratches, and peace of mind knowing the glass underneath is perfect.
Kodi Lucky Patcher
I recently got a couple of small light scratches on my s10+ i am hoping they are just on the film protector that already on the phone and not the screen itself.
I bought a glass protector on Amazon, the one on this link https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07SZP3WRH/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I didn't really read the reviews as such at first but after i have received them noticed only 1 person had reviews that has my phone saying the finger print sensor doesn't work and also pointed out that all the other 5 star reviews had been added on the same day, so after looking again they do all seem a bit dodgy.
I have been reluctant to open the pack and try them and have opted to just get a refund instead.
I am in the uk, does anyone know any glass protectors on Amazon that are actually good and do work with the fingerprint scanner, or will only the film ones work? My only problem with the film ones is the air bubbles and also the fact i think will be awkward to fit around the corner of the screen. I assume the glass ones would just fit around perfectly?
Any help would be great
Thanks
James
The S10+ uses ultrasonic waves for its fingerprint authorisation whilst other phones use optical (light). The ultrasonic works by 'reading' the bumps and grooves of your finger, including their location and depth. Because of this technology, a glass SP would need to be mighty thin but more importantly be in full contact with the scanner area of the screen
Whitestone Dome had originally thought it managed this by using a UV activated liquid glue to eliminate any space. The trouble is as soon as you press on the FP area, the dynamic of the glass and space changes, which is enough to give an error when scanning. Whitestone recently updated its instruction to press on the FP scanner for a minute or so before fully curing. But even this is not enough to prevent the minute shifts in the glass and glue to cause an error
The reviews for the Whitestone are hit and miss (i tried it myself but it did not work well for me)....so LSS, there seems there is no feasable glass SP for the S10+ at present
Your next best option is a dry applied TPU film - there are some good 4 stage application ones where you first place it on the screen, then fold back one half and squeeze it onto the screen with a hard card, then fold back the other half and do the same. Lastly, you just remove the protective cover
It doesnt give full edge-edge coverage but works well with the FP scanner, case friendly and leaves no bubbles
Hope this helps
I second meddylad only because I also couldnt get whitestone to work what so ever. Tried 2 different times and they both times failed. Bought a zagg film which has the apply one side at a time without bubbles and it protects my front camera. Now they sent me out a glassfusion(it what they called it) got here today but havent installed it yet. Took it out to see if it was glass but it bends to easy so I'm thinking it's more like a harder plastic
Any brand that use glue with uv can work with s10. Just make sure when u install, on the finger print portion u need to push it while u dry the glue with uv light. I had done many times with success
the whitedome works.. except after a while.. bubble will form out of no where along the edge and more and more will appear from out of no where
Just curious..whats wrong with the one comes default..i think s10+ comes with default samsung screen protector..right?
Good thinking, I'll give it a go. I don't like the plastic film covers that you can buy but I'd rather have one of them than nothing at all. I'll keep this glass one on til I can find something better
Tutuapp 9apps Showbox
I read on one of the android websites, can't remember exactly now. But they tested a few and the only one that works is a Whitestone Dome Glass. It's like $70 aud. Expensive.
Whitdom glass, I ve installed it yesterday, fingerprint works really great but I just need to Apply a bit more pressure then before, but it's a great screen protector you can't even notice it's there it does not mess up with the beauty of your screen colours and it's super high touch responsive, I like it

I confirm, I bought a tempered glass sold with glue and UV lamp on Aliexpress for less than 3 euros and it worked. As mentioned, it is necessary to press a little on the scanner area before complete drying with the UV lamp. I have no problem to unlock the phone Avoid spending your money for the Whitdom solution, there are cheaper altenatives that work just as well
Here are the steps I followed to place the screen protector: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FiSUzh47_50
I just ordered a White Stone Dome for my S10+. I'll let you know how it works.

does anyone know one from aliexpress that comes with more than the basics ... like whitestone has the lining guard so its easy to line up the glass and also i believe stickers to cover the earpiece so glue doesnt get in
I installed the Whitestone on my S10+ the other day. It was a simple process to install, no issues. Followed the video they have on their site. I cured it once, pressed the fingerprint portion of the screen down and cured it again twice. I tried to register my fingerprint immediately after, and it didn't work. I promptly sent an email. I found I had to press rather hard to get the fingerprint registered. I turned up the touch sensitivity, and I've had no issues with the fingerprint sensor thus far. It works almost 100% as accurate when I had no screen protector installed. I consciously press a bit harder when scanning my fingerprint, but other than that no issues. I also registered my thumb three times in 3 different positions. This may have helped, or it might not do anything.

I bought an AmFilm Ultra Glass Screen Protector from Amazon. It costs like $40 and you get 2 (I guess in case you mess one up applying it). I haven't put it on yet because I have a hybrid screen protector on my S10+ from Zagg that's supposed to be glass and plastic or some kind of film with a lifetime warranty.

good day sir, do you have a video link on how to install this glass? thanks in advance.
Ive tried WSD and some cheap versions online and tried the cure all / cure top then press hard n cure bottom and although i get some success its hit n miss....
I will wait to see what new products come out but for now the best ive found is the otao dry applied TPU
Hey guys, got my phone yesterday and promptly installed the screen protector. I got everything ready and then unwrapped the phone, pealed the plastic off the screen, grabbed a few pieces of dust with a piece of tape, and tossed on the included glass screen protector before even turning on the phone. My installation went as perfectly as ever, but the screen protector refuses to adhere at the edges. I even tried putting clamps on the edges (hey it's worked for me in the past), but nothing helped. I was just wondering if anyone else is having this problem or if I got a bum screen protector.
mines is the same way
Thanks for letting me know. I got sick of it and threw it out and just put on a cheap plastic one that I ordered on ebay for now.
Mine worked flawlessly. In fact I forget it is even on.
I did press hard on the edges when I installed it, but that was it.
