Hello I just brough my new Note 10+ and as always I want to keep track on the battery to see how much this last for me, I always open the battery usage and see the hours of the screen to compare how much my battery last. But on Samsung UI 2 this didn't work correctly, it shows the screen usage for the entire day and I doesn't matter if you charge the phone on the middle of the day, still showing the old hours of screen. This is not accurate for me to keep track my hours of screen correctly after a full charge only.. I will attach a screen that I found on the web of a note 10+ on android 9, and that option was fine, and the other screenshot it's mine on Android 10, I didn't find the same option on the battery usage screen..
How I can see that, I want to see my hours of screen as always till android 9
You can no longer check SOT with android 10. Install a battery monitoring application, for example AccuBattery, Gsam.

I am having battery drainage due to the display (unlike most people who are having battery issues because of the android system). I've tried dimming down the brightness and putting the screen timeout to the lowest possible but the display still sucks up most of my battery. Can anyone help me with this ?
I think that would be normal. It's a 4.5 inch touch screen; it takes a lot of juice to be so pretty ...
Under settings - about phone - battery usage - display, what is the time on vs. % of battery usage?
I've been off the charger for 30 minutes and display use is at 76% since I've been browsing news and xda non stop.
If your screen on time is low compared to it's battery usage, it's a different story. Sounds like you've tried the usual fixes.
Well I've been off the charger since 12 last night so it would be 12 hours. But the thing is that the display usage says 51% and the actual time on for display was only 2 hours.
and also my battery drains 1% about every 30 minutes with the screen off.
2 hours of screen on time sucking 51% of the battery sounds normal to me, even across other Android phones on GB. Touch screens use lots of power.
Maybe someone else can chime in with something I'm not getting, but it seems normal to me.
This is a screenshot of my E4GT after 33 hours off the charger with normal usage. I don't play games, but I do text a lot and had a few calls as well. As you can see, the screen was on 20% of the 33 hours, meaning 6.6 hours etc etc and I still had 9% battery life at that point.
I am loving my phone!
Doesn't that 20% mean that the display used 20% of the battery power, not that it was on for 20% of the time? If you select the Display, it actually shows you how long it's been on.
I just feel like my battery should last longer than it does. I used to own the moment and that would last me three days with moderate use. ButI guess that this phone is more powerful it would make sense not to last three days. If only that would happen haha

I'm at 58% with 8hr 7m on my battery, 27% screen, 22% android system, 12% android OS, 9% maps, 4% media server, rest <2%.
Overall, it blows away every other android phone I've ever owned.
you should be in the international version threads. this is for sprint.
since 3g/4g dun exist from where you are at , did u change the settings for gsm? if u leave it at default it will always be searching for 3g/4g which by alot of means drain alot of battery
[Q] Why are you posting in the wrong sub-forum?
This area is for the Sprint version, which hasn't even been out for a week...
I installed Google fit the day it was released and my battery seems to be taking a big hit. I was getting 24ish hours with ambient mode on and now I'm not getting 12. Is anyone else seeing this?
I see no difference with or without Google Fit. Are you constantly syncing?
No. In installing it was the only change before the decrease in battery life. Wear battery stats doesn't show any apps using any battery either. Thinking I'll reset the 360 and see if it clears up.
How the **** do people get 24 hours with ambient on, when I barely get to 16 hours with ambient off and a stock black watch face and nearly zero usage of the watch?? I can't help but think I have a bad device and should return it...
what apps do you have installed? maybe its something else...

Well, i get up at 5 am and take my watch off the charger and when i out it back on at 11 it usually has over 30% which I'm assuming would be plenty enough to get me back to 5 am if i tried.
I only have Keep, play music, fit interval timer and wear battery stats installed...
I did see a reduction in battery. I didn't think it was Fit until I saw this post. I'm going to give it a day or two... Might be battery recalibration or something. My battery life isn't bad but before fit and the update I was getting about 40-50% per 12 hours... Give or take 10% depending on the notifications and such.

mine decreased significantly as well.
I was getting between 4% - 5% drain an hour. Installed Google Fit, drain increased to 10% - 12% per hour.
No apps installed except wear battery stats.
May be you should change location setting..use power saving mode instead of gps

My battery on the watch is more or less the same but my phone battery has taken a hit for sure .. fit is keeping my phone awake a lot!

Yeah I noticed this as well. I deleted Fit on my N5 and battery life appears to be better gain.

This is an update: no changes to anything except turning off ambient mode. Ambient mode was on and off throughout the day yesterday because I though that might have been killing the battery. I turned it off during last night's charge cycle to turn the screen off as usual but this time I didn't turn it back on. Normally, leaving on Ambient mode only takes 5-10% in a given day, so I can only assume that either I was moving a lot yesterday or something more sinister was going on.
Still using:
-Nexus 5
-Google FIT, Facer is being used, wear battery, a few other minor apps
-No changes to GPS settings, etc
The watch has been off the charger since 7:30-7:45 (100%) it is now 4:23 (75%) approximately 8 hours @25% , which is closer to my normal battery time. I've been receiving my normal notifications and I haven't even reset my device. Hopefully other people have the same results cause it really sucked last night to have a watch on my arm that didn't even work... lol
i've notice just a small decrease in battery, but not a huge one, i still took off the charger at 6am this morning and still have 51% right now, where as normally i'd have about 65%.
I was at about 55% when I installed the latest Wear update this evening. Three hours later I'm at 16%. Ambient mode off. Gonna keep an eye on it but that Wear update seems to be the culprit for me.
I suspect that the Google Fit is only using phone sensor at the moment and the Fit app is only syncing from the phone and not the otherway round. Checking Heart Rate history on the www.google.com/fit is also not showing anything.
When you check in Google Fit settings in the app, it doesn't show the Moto 360 as an connected device. Not sure if this by design.
How can the heart rate monitor and/or heart activity be turned off completely? I still get these "You've reached your daily goal" messages every single day, sometimes only minutes apart - it gets annoying, quickly. I've switched off all three sections in the settings menu, but it doesn't seem to do the trick.
I have never had good battery life on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 ever since I got it in April of 2015. I did a battery test using the Geekbench app and it gets only 4-5 hours of life. And since this is just screen on time, my battery normally drains much faster. I've tried 4.4 Kitkat, 5.1.1 Lolipop, and even 6.0 Marshmellow with no real difference to battery life. I have also tried battery monitoring and battery doctor apps, as well as deleting the batterystats.bin file and even ripping my tablet apart and reseating the battery connector. I've thought about replacing the battery, but the only battery i can find is from NewPower99 and that's $60.00, way too much for a battery in my eyes.
Plenty of battery`s on eBay.

me too in my tab s sm t700
battery life is die quickly in stock rom 5.0.2
Keep your screen brightness as low as usable, avoid white or light screens as they use the most power it is a disadvantage of oled displays, I keep my display on auto -5

Downgrade to KitKat, as the other day i upgraded to lollipop and the battery was dropping 1% every other min its a joke. So i downgraded to KitKat and it gives me easy 3 days use and that's heavy use T705!
How to downgrade t705 to kitkat
I use a built-in feature to keep the screen toned down. In the display settings, there is a reading more feature where I select the apps I primarily use, including my default launcher Nova Launcher, and it tones the screen brightness down while those apps are in focus. Like right now while I'm using the Tapatalk app.

Head over to http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ download your firmware and flash using odin it's real simple!
Found this over at Android Central as last few days my battery has been all over the place, as it was fine before. Anyway my battery dropped to 5% turned it off. Waited a minute or so, turned it back on bat was showing 45% wow so i'm draining it again Ive let it drop to 5% again this is the 3rd run now its showing 42% crazy credit goes to rouge-hawkins
I had the same issue on my brand new Galaxy Tab S LTE version with Exynos chip. I was like WTF on the battery because the moment i disconnect it from the charger it would soon drop to about 85% in 5 minutes. Then the dropping continuous in huge leaps like from 70% down to 30% while i'm just browsing the web. Then when it came down to 5% it would turn off. The moment i plug in the charger while the device is off the battery level would start at 40%. It was erratic for 2 weeks. Good news is i was able to resolve this without doing factory resets.
What i did was the moment the battery came down to like 5% i completely turn off the tab and turn it on , the tab reported a higher battery level like 45% then i continued using and until it drops again to a lower level like 3%. I power cycled the tab again and it reported battery level at around 24%. I used it again until battery level went to 3% and rebooted it, then it reported 12%.. used it again until the device really wont boot anymore. Then i used a slow charger. I used the 1A usb charger from my other phone (while off) and waited until 100% full. Then things became normal.. it reports battery level fine after. I also installed Clean Master and disabled some background apps and Samsung bloatware that i really dont use. Everything is ok now and im happy with my Tab S 8.4... hope this helps for those who got their device over the holidays. I resumed using the 2.1A default charger and issue doesnt seem to repeat anymore.
I owned the galaxy S9 (dual sim - 128gb - exynos) since july, my battery doesn't last a whole day, all I get is 4-4.5 hours of SOT. I installed phone info for samsung from play store and checked the battery status, it says that battery health is 91.37%.
And my phone is warm most of the time, not extremely hot, just a little bit. Is it normal? Or my phone has a problem?

Same as mine, feel warm all the time, even not using it. 3hours+ SOT per full charge. Bought it on end of June 2018. After 100 cycles phone info shows 86.53%.

Don't worry about that, I don't think it can be accurate, mine says 84.97% after 54 cycles, and I'm fairly sure I remember it saying it was only about 90% when it was new, so I'd add 10% onto that %
Will wiping system cache help to decrease heat and improve battery life?
Check for any apps that may be constantly functioning in the background, streaming apps that are not closed, etc. GSam is a good app for monitoring this.
Recently, I am not charging my phone like I was doing before, I mean sometimes I recharge it to 100% when it's at 60% for example, or sometimes I let it drop to 10% or lower. Because of university needs...
But I'm noticing a very bad battery life that it lasts me about 16 hours with 2-3 hours of SOT (I only use whatsapp and open some documents at university).
And my phones gets hot sometimes like I said before.
And sometimes I unplug it and after 2 mins it drops from 100% to 98%. The battery drains too quickly! What's the problem here? (I also notice a higher % for android system usage, like 13% or 16% for example)
PS : I tried wiping cache and I saw some apps running in the background and putted them on "always sleeping apps" except of social media apps. But they still run, I can see this in RAM usage. So don't know what to do.

Thanks bro! But I am asking why I need to do all this stuff to make a flagship phone last me the whole day, my friend's s9 battery lasts the whole day with 6 hours of SOT without disabling apps, or optimizing them. And without putting a dark theme...
