My Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9 have WiFi Sharing where I can share my WiFi connection as a hotspot instead of my mobile data...
Can I install this feature somehow on my OnePlus 7T? (It seems to only support mobile network tethering...)
P.S. Even my friend xiaomi mi 9t pro have this option why theres no more in One Plud 7T.

I have Galaxy S5 with GPRS internet connection and Galaxy Tab S (non LTE version)
I know to use a Mobile Hotspot and it works perfectly.
My question is, when I connect S5 and Tab S via WiFi direct- the GPRS internet of the phone is not shared to Tab S.
If I try to make a Hotspot during WiFi direct connection- the WiFi direct gets disconnected.
You don't use wifi direct to share internet.
Just make hotspot with your S5, then connect your Tab S via wifi, NOT wifi direct.
I know, but I am looking for solution,
For example, when I am on places where there is no WiFi connection, but I established WiFi direct between Tablet S and S5 and I am working on the Tablet (also answering sms or phone calls from the tablet)- I want to use GPRS internet of the phone.
Sounds logical that this option should be...
May be there is some other way to do it?
Nope. You can't use Sidesync without a proper external wifi connection.
I have an AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II (SGH-I317) which has wifi-hotspot option, but when I try to turn it on for playing multiplayer games with my friends, it asks me to enable mobile data.
So is there any way to turn on the wifi hotspot without the need for enabling mobile data? Any ROM hacks probably?
P.S. The devices is rooted and has custom recovery handy
Wifi hotspot is for allowing users to access the Internet through a single data connection. Once hotspotting is enabled, the host phone can't use its wifi capabilities.

Yes I know that wifi-hotspot disables wifi and so...
But, my question is to enable wifi-hotspot without an internet connection(w/o mobile data) on SGH-I317. So far I can enable wifi-hotspot only after enabling mobile data.
With this phone, the two go hand in hand.
Is it possible on Mi Max 3? Anyone who can enable both are the same time please post your ROM version (as on my MiuiEU 10 / 9.1.24 it didn't work)
No it doesn't work. Hotspot uses the wifi chip in reverse to project wifi. It can't do both at the same time. But you can USB tether or Bluetooth tether a wifi connection in most cases.
i cannot see or manage (like block or allow) any of the connected devices on my redmi note 8 pro's mobile hotspot
Facing the same issue (cannot see devices connected to the hotspot on my RN8P)

Did you find a solution to this? If yes, what did you do?
I found that my OnePlus 11, when connected to the 5.0GHz home WiFi first, turned on the mobile hotspot, and the WiFi signal output by the mobile hotspot was always locked at 2.4Ghz, regardless of the mobile hotspot settings whether the AP band is selected 2.4 or 5.0. Conversely, if you connect to the 2.4GHz home WiFi first, the mobile hotspot can turn on 5.0GHz.
I asked some friends who have OnePlus 11 and tried some old devices, they all can dual 5.0GHz (WiFi+AP), I tried flash (fastboot), nothing works.
Does anyone have the same problem as me?
I am very worried that it is a hardware problem, and Europe The service center may not perform any testing and repairs on my device(from CN). sad. : (
Mine is Chinese OP11 flash to Oxygen. Working good on 5.8Ghz and WiFi 6
