Did you find a solution to this? If yes, what did you do?

Does anyone else have problems with wifi tethering? It seems to happen for me with any rom, currently though using JellySlim_FullPower [HSD Project 4].
My problem is I start the wifi tethering from my Xperia S, then on my Windows 7 PC I can connect no problem at all and usually it works fine - The problem then is if I try and connect to the same hotspot with another device at the same (Xperia T / Nexus 7 2013). Within minutes of more than one device been connected to my Xperia S wifi hotspot all the connections drop, then on Windows 7 I get the Limited Connectivity and yellow exclamation mark.
To keep it simple, wifi tethering seems to work when only one device is connected to the hotspot, but it seems having multiple devices connected causes the connection to lose internet.
Has anyone else experienced this, have a solution maybe? I am wondering if there is a setting to allow x amount of connections at once or something
Thanks.

The only thing I can do is connect phone to PC and use USB tethering for internet on PC, then to share with another device also use hotspot.
Again though, any more devices using the same hotspot drops all the connections. I cannot find a resolution.

Have you tryed with kitkat how tethering works?
Two months later and so many many wasted hours, looks like solution found! Luckyly by my self
Go to your pc wlan device properties and change from internet protocol verion propeties ip to automatic.

Anybody having problems in using wifi hotspot in OnePlus 3 after the lastest update.(3.2.8) . In my phone , it doesn't work with apps like SHAREit or superbeam .
And if I create a hotspot then nobody could connect to that wifi.

Could you give some detail? Is is okay to connect to your hotspot and use it without the apps like SHAREit or superbeam?
The problem I met is that, other devices could connect but no internet on their device, which is found out caused by failure of correct IP addresses allocation.

On 3.2.8 I'm having the reboot issue if I turn hotspot on with LTE after a while I will lose internet and when I turn off hotspot phone freezes them reboots. If I use hotspot with 3g no problems.
I think fast dormancy is the issue.

Have you found a fix for your problem? I ran into the same problem with Freedom OS and it happens only if I start downloading something.
I use my mobile hotspot to connect my laptop to internet. I recently noticed 2 or more users (besides my laptop) often connected to my mobile hotspot, but cannot find 'Who'. I wish to know if anyone knows of any app or OS capable of having hotspot features which can identify the connected users and be able to disconnect and block them. I am using Yu Yureka AO5510 Lineage OS 7.1.2 API Level Guava (7).
Thanks~!

Hi, thanks for your suggestion. I already tried that. It does not have the option to disconnect or ban connected clients.
My Samsung Galaxy S8 and S9 have WiFi Sharing where I can share my WiFi connection as a hotspot instead of my mobile data...
Can I install this feature somehow on my OnePlus 7T? (It seems to only support mobile network tethering...)
P.S. Even my friend xiaomi mi 9t pro have this option why theres no more in One Plud 7T.
soo i've been having this problem for months now, i have a redmi note 8 and when i'm playing while on my wifi the ping in so high like 500-600 to the point where the game is unplayable.
tho i can play normally while on data with normal ping 70-90
my brother have a RN7 and he doesn't have this issue while on same wifi.
i also tried another RN8 on same wifi also same high ping like me.
do u guys have an idea? thanks in advance
having similar situation here on my redmi note 8 version 10
pretty sure it's related to the wifi, tried to reset my wifi settings and try other wifi, but still same case.
now I use reverse tethering through my PC, and the ping is way better, even though it's a hassle Haha
