Can't activate phone - Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 Questions & Answers

So it happened few days back.
Phone stopped receiving mobile signal, it happens every few days and after restart it usually comes back, but this time it didn't.
So i have tried to reset the phone and now stuck on activation screen as phone didn't have any mobile network or wifi.
Tried to root, can't unlock bootloader as i haven't changed setting in developer option to allow OEM unlocking.
What should i do next?

[Q] No service after factory reset :s

So I have a really odd problem with my DHD.
Pretty much after doing a factory reset I can't connect to the phone network.
On the lock screen it says "Limited Service" and will only allow emergency calls.
Also, it nags me about selecting a network operator like every 30 seconds.
My operator is listed there but when I select it my phone says "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network."
It's also the same with the "select automatically" function.
Some other stuff:
- I've done three more system restores to see if that fixed the problem. (To no avail.)
- Tried with a couple of friends SIM cards, with different operators, same problem.
- The mobile network have seemingly at random started working, so I could browse the web over 3G, but still unable to call or send texts.
- I've also not flashed any rooms onto it, it's the stock Android 2.2 one.
- Also tried turning airplane mode on and off
I've scoured the web for a solution, but I can't find anyone with a similar problem. Really frustrating.
So hope the great masters here at xda can wave their magic wand and give me my baby back. ;/

[Q] r800i no sim card problem, NO CHANGES MADE

I've got an r800i running gin2jellybean on the virgin network. It has been unlocked using the code method. Everything has been fine on the phone except last night when I ran out of minutes. The phone disconnected from the network and said no sim, which isn't out of the ordinary. I paid the bill and waited several hours for my service to return. After it didn't work I rebooted my phone... to no avail. Sometimes when my wifi is on and the battery gets low the phone says no sim but when wifi is turned off service returns. I've tried rebooting with airplane mode on waiting a few moments and turning it off..... but still it says no sim card!
I'm at a loss and have no idea what to do! It was wofking fine..... and now NOTHING!

"call ended" immediately

Starting today, my Note 4 gets into a mode where whenever I place a phone call, the phone immediately says "Call ended" and hangs up before even connecting.
Signal strength is fine and nothing has changed today (including my physical location).
I've tried clearing cache/data on the Phone app and force-stopping the Phone app, but that doesn't fix the problem.
If I reboot the phone, then the problem does disappear for a while and I can place calls normally. But within an hour or so it's back in "Call ended" mode.
Since rebooting always fixes it immediately, the problem appears to be with the phone and not the carrier. I'm running the latest OTA version (COC4), totally stock.
Does anyone know of a solution, or at least a quicker workaround than rebooting?
the same thing is happening to me... last update
Factory reset, as much as it sucks it fixes most issues, not all obviously
Go into network settings turn off enhanced 4g lte services. Go into apn settings and reset to default. Reboot.
Similar situation happened to me.

I am having very similar symptom now on my Galaxy S6 Stock, however resetting APN not work
, is there still hope not to go factory resetting? I found some people not having problem solved but yet have to face a empty phone again and again, what a waste of time :silly:
BTW, I can have this "call ended" immediately" issue fixed for like 30 mins by switch between voice call mode like 4G/3G/2G automatic <-> 3G/2G automatic, but after a short time it goes back again, turn out the fix not quite helpful because even inbound calls result in as "no receiving", quite an issue.

SIM card detected, but "Emergency Calls Only"

Hi. Recently, my signal bars on my phone went blank and I can't get my signal back. I tried to remove/reinsert my SIM card and after a few tries, my phone stopped detecting it altogether. I got a new SIM card, but the problem still persists. Searching for service providers gives several results, but all of them are "unavailable at the moment". Factory reset didn't help either. Please help

If it was working fine and you didn't change anything and all of a sudden you just get no signal, I would first call your service provider and have them check it out, and if they say everything's OK, you should get a new sim, and have them switch the number to it, and if that doesn't work, it's probably a hw failure. The only things you could check on the phone is if you accidentally switched data off, or hit airplane mode, etc.

Airplane mode is off, data is on. I already got a new SIM, but the problem persists. Sadly, I'm not sure I can call my service provider, since I'm studying abroad and I'm yet to learn the language. And I'm really hoping it's not the hardware, it shouldn't be. Also, I don't have signal bars

Htc M8 Er05 Wifi Calling Invalid Sim Card

I have an unlocked HTC One with a venom Rom. I have been using it for a number of years and am happy with it. I used a different phone for the last few months then went back to this HTC. Now, when I connect to wifi I get an invalid sim Er05 notification that comes up and I cannot get rid of it by swiping or any other means. When I press on it WFCService is displayed. Wifi Calling is not available to me. This is a Canadian phone but I think the carrier was Wind or someone who might have got their phones from T-Mobile.
I have read a lost of posts on this and the suggestion is to turn off wifi calling. When I try to do it, the box for it is unchecked and wifi calling is marked as disabled. I cannot check the box to enable it.
If I disconnect from wifi the notification disappears, but if I reconnect the notification reappears and can't be removed. I have tried reinserting the sim but it appears that this is a t-mobile feature and you need a proper t-mobile sim or you will get this error. But I have been using this phone for years and not seen it before. I have tried deleting the wifi calling service, but it recreates when the phone reboots. I have reinstalled Venom twice and cleared the cache and dalvik and that does nothing to help. I have booted in safe mode and still the notification appears. I would like to delete wifi calling permanently but do not seem to be able to.
Does anyone have any thoughts on this. The phone is rooted.
I flashed a backup from a few months ago and the problem is resolved. This means it was not the sim card or anything related to the phone. The only changes that I know were made to the phone were that I added three apps. Advanced task killer (I think this is the one that started the issue) Amazon and Grace Remote. I think one of these likely caused the wifi calling to activate even though it was disabled.
Of note is that I no longer have a wifi calling option at all in my settings. It is not there at all. Instead there is an "Internet Calling" option that cant be turned off but can be set to internet or internet and data.
Something glitched and I think it was one of the apps I used. Likely advanced task manager, but perhaps it was grace remote(an app to control my internet radio remotely). I doubt it was the amazon app.
