Hi guys,
2 weeks ago problems were started to appear with my HOX screen.
One little burn black pixel in the top right screen.
And a orange color sign in the button left corner of the screen. (gets worse as my device getting hotter)
I called HTC customer service in UK,
They told me that since im from Israel there is no official lab of HTC here, so I need to ship my device to Greece.
The thing is that my HOX is hacked and RELOCKED, i changed roms etc...and I told it to the guy in the customer service.
just to check if it still fine (after all thats a hardware problem and not software)
He told me its cancel the warranty and they cant fix the screen for me... only if ill add something like 400-600 euro for they to change the proccesor.
Its really sucks!
I paid so much for a high-end device and I need to have this issue's?!
why samsung s3 dosent need to face those kinds of problems? (not to mention that samsung have a offical lab in Israel and they dont need to send it to Greece!)
Anyway another israeli friend told me that he also was in the same situation like I, and he send hes device without telling hes device was jail break. They fix it!
Apparently its not HTC themself in greece, he got latter with the device after they fix and everything was written there in greek and a name of a company was something diffrent.
nothing about HTC.
So i guess they just fixing without really cheak if the phone was hacked. Maybe they dont care.
its just another company that works with HTC.
The thing is I already told the guy in the customer service that the phone is hacked and I gave him my IMEI nummber.
It means that there is no way back? they know not that my specific phone is hacked in their computers?
Or can I call again as ''another customer'' tell them my problems is the screen without mention the jailbreak, and send my phone anyway to Greece.
What do you guys think?
I am already with stock rom and the phone is RELOCKED.
I'll make it short for you.
If you can talk to the retailer you might have yourself a chance. Given that you are in Israel. Scratch that.
The 2nd option and the best one is s-offing your device than changing your phone's state as "LOCKED". Anyway, this isn't possible because there is no public way to achieve this. So, either your have to wait or forget this option. By the way, I don't know when we might get s-off or even if it possible (software wise).
Here now we get to the 3rd option:
First, no a customer service can't and won't be able to invalid your warranty just by talking to him/her.
Second, it will depends on the person who checks your phone in HTC. If he/she is lazy or an easy good natured person. He or she will fix it. DONE. For your information, if they connected your phone to a computer and the boot loader is "RELOCKED" they have an app which will indicate your phone as ROOTED/WARRANTY VOID. Also, I think HTC charges money if you wants to return your phone back to you (in case of warranty is voided).
You might be wondering why HTC asked a lot of money, they need to change your motherboard to lock it(Stupid HTC policy to be honest & they can lock it by other means).
Last option you have, is to find a good service center whom will replace only the screen for you. This will cost you less than what HTC will ask for.
note: I am ignoring the sgs3 part.
Good Luck
There is an oficial lab and importer in Israel. Google for Touch Group. They are located in Hertslia pituah

Hello everyone
I m working for a mobile company (Wind telecomunications) in Greece and we recently recieved in the store a demo unit of S4. All the other devices we used to recieve were proper phones with proper functionality. It is the first demo unit we recieved (no imei on device) so I would like to know if there is any way to transform it into a normal device. I read some articles on internet about demo units. Some of them saying that flasing a rom solved the issue but some others say that demo units lacking the antenna. Probably mine is missing the anntena as well because I tried to put a sim card and there was no response from the phone. Moreover by calling 112 the phone says that couldnt deliver the call.
So... Propably is antena problem. I would like to know if it is possilble to order and antenna part from ebay (or other) and istall it to the device along with firmware installation or demo unit can be used only as a tablet without sim.
(Important! I am not stealing the device but I am about to use it after it gets off from the live demo wall.)
Thanks

i dont think you can buy just the antenna. you best bet would be to get a broken galaxy s4 from ebay and scrap it for the part you need.
and even then i dont know if you are able to transfer the antenna. Someone with more knowledge about hardware could clarify if its even possible
Hmm i would try flashing stock firmware and use a tool to repair the imei not going to mention the tool here ,...go to a cell phone shop say imei repair they might help u ...

The problem is not the imei repair but if the device can be used like that or not. If someone knows what exactly is the problem and how it can be repaired.
make me call

hi
i have the same problem, an s4 demo and i can tell you that you nedd an anttena and maybe an other motherboard.
i ve buy an antenna on ebay for 11$ and i will try to place it ....
After that i ll tell you if it s good or not
sorry but i m not english
i know that because i have already this probleme on a s3 demo and after buy an antenna il change the motherboard generally on a broken phone (price of the screen is so expensive that you can have one for not very expensive...)
Good luck ....
Can anyone tell me what the replacement process is like in the US? I may need to send mine in for service or a replacement. I've heard it's pretty bad but wondering what to expect? Is there anyway to not have to go without a phone cause I use mine for work.
Does anyone have Samsung pay working on there A70 in Canada? I am on the bell network and it keeps coming up that my device is not compatible in the galaxy store?
Same here
Same as I'm seeing as Samsung Pay, GPay and others won't work. I am on Freedom Mobile and Rogers (personal and work sims). I can't even install Samsung Pay, GPay installs but just does not work.
I did get RBC Wallet to work, so if your bank has their own app then that might be the method to get NFC payments working.

It's Ironic...
S-Pay is one of the reasons I purchased the A70..
SM-A705MN VERSIONS OUT OF LATIN AMERICA *DO HAVE THE CORRECT RADIO BANDS FOR 4G LTE IN THE UNITED STATES* 1,2,4,5,8,12,66..
BUT THIS VERSION *** WILL NOT*** WORK WITH SAMSUNG PAY
As it is "Out Of Region"... In The United States.. No Matter What You Do.
OP,
I thought I would just piggyback off your thread instead of starting a new one.... hope that's ok..
Sorry you are having the same trouble in Canada.. I am still in my "Honeymoon Period" and can return my unit.. I'm in the middle of assessing whether it's viable to keep my unit based on where I shop...
Samsung Pay works EVERYWHERE here in the U.S.. So I need to really assess whether Google Pay / Walmart Pay cover enough of the merchants I frequent the most or just move over to a Country Specific Galaxy device.. :fingers-crossed:
It's Almost 2020....
Tap-And-Go is the way to go for this era...
Safer... Faster... Better IMO..

Samsung pay was one of the factors to me for upgrading to the A70. I was thinking of flashing the Canadian software for the A705W via Odin but I am pretty sure that won't help.

Please Fill In Some Blanks For Me If You Don't Mind..
So.. you are in Canada, and they have a version of the A70 ( The A705W you mentioned ) that is native to that region and it comes with Samsung Pay already installed?
If that's the case.. may I ask, are you a transplant to that region? why did you not buy a SM-A705W from the start?
I may be *100% Wrong*.... but after my MANY conversations with Samsung Pay Tech Support they said there was no way around it.. that, there are enough Red Flags that a device knows its not in it's intended region and will not allow you to setup Samsung Pay in a different region than where the device was meant to be sold.
S-Pay would not even show up in the Playstore.. Google's or Samsung's for me. I sideloaded it.. older versions.. older framework.. Nada.... Nothing.
But I No Longer Care..
I went out today and tried Google Pay for the 1st time...
YES!!!! :highfive:
"EVERYPLACE " I shop.. Google Pay works! Even the Gas Pumps.. :good:
So that confirms for me that I'm keeping the A70... Now, Stereo Speakers are the only thing I feel is missing but Bluetooth earbuds and some 3.5mm stereo computer speakers in the garage really negate that final complaint.. So, I'm good with what the A70 brings to the table.. Battery and Screen are simply incredible for me.. Fingerprint Recognition is a non-issue on my unit.. as are Ghost Touches.. Face unlock is INSTANTANEOUS .
Final Question.. It's been so long since I've used Odin.. ( not since 2016 when I murdered my Note 4..) I can't remember... can you flash one software version over another without Root Access? if you can, then what you propose is most certainly worth a try.
But if you need Root Access to switch software versions.. you know you will trip Knox... and you will FOREVER loose the ability to use Samsung Pay..
I hope all works out for you!
Please comeback to this thread and keep us updated! :good:

Ok very valid points here. I did not buy the Canadian Variant as the A705W is $699 CND from the carriers here in Canada. I bought my 705MN unlocked from Amazon for $429 CND.
I have not used ODIN or rooted a phone since my S7 edge. I have yet to confirm if Samsung pay works on the Canadian variant or not. I asked a bell salesman and I got 2 different answers one yes and one no lol.
You are 100% correct that if Knox is tripped even flashing back to stock won't bring Samsung pay back (learned the hard way on my S7 edge).
I am loving the A70 as it is a nice upgrade in my opinion from my S7 edge. Only 3 down falls I have with the phone. Two are the same as you...No Samsung pay...no stereo speakers and no IP rating...other than that I love this device.
Excellent Price You Scored!

I'd Say You Saved A Couple Of Pennies vs Going For The "W" Variant..
Hopefully.. going *Price vs Satisfaction* does not leave you with any remorse.
Honestly.. I know nothing of Canada.. Is there no way Google Pay is a Go up that way?
That's the ONLY thing that swayed the tide as far as me keeping this device.
I don't care about root anymore and it appears between Samsung's Lock on SD SoC's and Developers skipping this device at it's price point..Custom anything may be a No-Go.
So, with the A70's features and Good Lock and (for me) Superb Battery Life.. Widevine L1 and not forgettting G-Pay :good: I'm a happy camper.
At Least.. Until Black Friday / Cyber Monday...

Samsung pay does work here in Canada on all samsung flasgships from S7 up. Unfortunately not on the A70 I guess. I am going to look into Gpay as I hate carrying both a wallet and cell phone all the time lol... phone prices here in Canada are just ridiculous. A new S10+ is $1499 ( from carriers). I am hoping to get a good solid year out of this phone then I may just bite the bullet and go for a Note 10 or Note 11 by that time.
It does now
Samsung a70s Samsung pay is now available in the galaxy store.... It's not available in the Google Play as of yet.

What is your exact model number
SM-A705W
I have a Canadian A70 and I use Samsung Pay. You have to sideload the app though. Get it from apkmirror, along with Samsung Pay Framework so it's all up to date.
While you're at it, get Samsung Internet Browser from there as well. I honestly don't know why Samsung region locks so many of their apps or doesn't update the ones that are already in the device.

Were you able to get Google Pay working on your 705MN model in Canada?
Yes my bank does have an app and it works with NFC just fine. I don't understand why Samsung Pay isn't implemented on this model.

Samsung is particularly picky in allowing which of its phones access to Samsung Pay. If your phone isn't intended to be sold in your region(eg you're in Canada but using a Latin American A705MN model), then you won't be able to use Samsung Pay. Only if you had the Canadian specific A705W model would you then be allowed access to Samsung Pay.
I know it's very weird and anti consumer decision but Samsung does this to make the local wireless providers happy.
btw; which model do you have and what's your home country?

Hi
I recently bought an S20+ 5G from a guy. He did make me aware that he had factory reset the phone and play store and ability to reset again had disappeared from the phone. I had thought it was probably an issue Samsung would be able to solve as the phone was less than 12months old. Unfortunately it has retail mode enabled and I can't seem to find very much info on how to remove it. Everything seems to work apart from the usual stuff like Health, Pay and obviously the most important one Playstore. When I open retail app its asking for Country, shop and code so I'm lost. Any advice greatly appreciated

Just for reference, this phone was bought legitimately by the previous owner and receipt of purchase has been shown to me. Now as to whether the phone was stolen, the shop who sold it to him has said that they were bought legitimately and this under threat of me calling the authorities
