Hello, I have an unlocked and rooted 7T and it makes my phone limited to sd quality when watching netflix (i have the premium hd subs). Is there any way to bypass this without unrooting and relocking the bootloader? Thanks!
Hi
Try magisk hide with Netflix

doesn't work, have tried it.
And in case i want to relock the bootloader, what are the steps? Currently running 10.0.7.HD65AA and rooted with magisk. Also stock recovery and i think stock firmware (?) Don't know how to check for the firmware. Kernel is 4.14.117-perf+ which i think is stock already. thank you

When you unlock the bootloader it trips widevine Level and sets in to L3. L1 is needed for HD.
There's nothing to be done.

Any guide on relocking the bootloader? Do I have to flash stock boot.img first to remove root and magisk before relocking it through fastboot?

You have to remove root and magisk to be 100pct stock or else your phone will get the "You phone cannot be trusted and will not boot..." Message if you relock the boot.

You can try uninstalling it but before you do that be prepared to have a soft brick and backup stuff cause I did that on 20.0 magisk and it wouldn't boot at all. Maybe it was a glitch idk, but if it does you'll have to MSM back to stock

You have to unlock the bootloader too. Unblocking the bootloader will wipe your device.
As a rule of thumb, I always unlock bootloader on day one of purchasing my devices. (mostly Nexus or OP so far). This way you avoid potentially losing data.
Or u can download systemless xposed which will allow to turn on and off to use Android pay

With xposed it cannot if it is active

root (access) is obtained via apps like SuperSU
xposed has nothing to do with root access - it is an additional framework allowing for low level modifications (like amplify, etc)
unlocking bootloader is always the first step, from there you can flash supersu (which is NOT just an APK file).
there's a number of threads about it that can explain it better than i.

Ok thanks you. I see the threads in OP3 xda forum.
One more question : is the warrantly lost after rooting ?
Hi guys. I was wondering if it's possible to unlock bootloader, install twrp, root with magisk or supersu, flash stock recovery, then relock the bootloader.
I'm asking this because I have no intention of changing the stock rom but I want to have root just in case an app needs it. Also, when I startup the phone, there's that annoying message. Aaaaand I still want to banking apps and Android pay. Thank you!
Edit. Don't try this because it will brick your device. tried, confirmed, bricked.
Nope, won't work. Try locking bootloader with modified system and you'll end up with a brick.

Maybe, dunno for sure, I don't use magisk.
You may try if you want, just keep that unbrick tool handy.

yep, you were right. after locking the bootloader, it gets in a bootloop, and restarts forever. luckily i was able to enter stock recovery and was able to flash 7.0 again. cheers
Back to your first post - you can have root with magisk and still pass safetynet (so banking apps etc will work), but the bootloader has to remain unlocked. Again, I can't go into details as I'm personally not using this, but I know that it works from what I'm reading on this forum.
You just can't get rid of that message on boot, otherwise having an unlocked bootloader is not really an issue.
Btw, even that message can be skipped by pressing the power button again, no need to wait 5 seconds.
Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
I have an unlocked bootloader and have magisk installed. SafetyNet passes with hide enable. I can confirm Android Pay works. My banking app works, but I'm sure which banking app you're using.
I too can confirm that when magisk is installed and safetynet can be passed, my banking apps work totally fine here in Germany

Magisk is fantastic, not only is it starting to open a new xposed like module repository, but being able to pass safety net and have root is awesome..

Yes Mister. I have used LGflash tools and directly inject 13b kdz and updated rootsystem image. Now I have MM VS98613b with root privilege. I am not able to or find the way to install twrp recovery. Any idea? Thanks and waiting for your guide.
No sorry
You cannot unlock your device but you can install TWRP in FIsH as long as you are rooted.
Check my signature.

You can unlock but it's a WIP atm

In theory yes for phh but this requires to rework FIsH.
Magisk requires changes in boot partition so 100% no.
Consider to unlock instead

Is there a way to relock bootloader after flashing custom rom. As some app check bootloader as well. Thanks
You relock bootloader with a custom rom you will have a brick on your hands...

Nope. Extremely risky let alone stupid. If you want a £1000 paperweight, go right ahead. If they check the bootloader, surely they'd check the flash counter that you just tripped by flashing a custom ROM.

Lol if u dont understand u should probably just wait for an easier method..
Magisk ALREADY does this specifically so apps cant detect it.. ro.boot props cant be added to normal build.prop as they are props passed by the boot loader.. props can do ro. Properties..
Resetprop is a binary that comes with magisk..

So,it's my first time rooting a phone.
I think I understood the boltloader unlocking part, but I'm confused after that.
Also, side question, can the bootloader be relocked after rooting?
I also understand the magisk part,I think, but I'm really unsure about the files I have to download.
So,is there a good guide,or can you guys help me out?
Side question 2 : is it an issue, that I'm running the beta version of Oxygen OS?
Thanks in advance!

Follow his instructions and you are good to go. Works 100% without issues.
Don't relock the phone and it doesn't matter if you have open beta installed.

Because it's not recommended to relock if the phone isnt completely stock. On xiaomi devices you will even brick the phone!

You can't relock the bootloader if you have done any modifications, the device won't let you boot.
For now rooting is a must for the other camera, but there is a new version that comes out (hopefully) soon that enables other cameras without root or any other modifications.
