Is there a difference between models? - OnePlus 7T Questions & Answers

Going back to when I purchased my early OnePlus devices, I imported them from China. This year, with the 7T was no exception. I found it for $435.00. A considerable savings over the $599.00 OnePlus is asking on its website. I haven't been able to see a difference in the US, China/India and EU models, is there one?

Just some differences in supported 4g bands.

Thanks

I got 7T purchased directly from oneplus, the VVM on stock dialer will not work on TMobile.

Tried to make it work for about a week.
I tried to reset, called tmo tech, It only works using the tmo vvm app, but not on the stock dialer. Tmo tech reset my vm, sent ota, etc. Modified the phone xml too.
As soon i got the Tmo 7T, VVM works rightaway using stock dialer.

I was wondering, if you flash the international version of oos, do the other bands become accessible or usable? That's based on possibly reading that all 7t versions were the same hardware/radios but limited to certain bands due to their firmware. Can't recall where I may have read it though...thoughts?

I don't think so. Doesn't hurt to try though lol but I don't think firmware flash will unlock bands.

No network

Got scammed today. Bought a used Find 7a but it only work with AT&T. Put my Tmobile sim card has no network signal.
I thought this phone came unlocked. Does anyone know how to unlock it ?
And you did check to see that apn settings are correct, right? Some earlier versions had to have a setting changed to work with tmobile. I use tmobile with no problems
I did check the APN, seems there. But it saids no sim detected or something.
My main question is no company here in LA carry this phone include the big one like ATT and Tmobile. This Oppo is import from China.
I will assume that this is unlocked. Especially my friend stick in his AT&T sim card to my Oppo and it works like a charm. It shows LTE.
If that works with ATT, why would Tmobile not working ? Just I have no clue.

Do you know which version you have? x9000, x9005, x9006, or x9007?
You need the x9006 version AND the US version.
oh that I don't know. To be honest I don't know much about this phone. Except the Oneplus one. I got it for my daughter.
So if AT&T works, does it mean I got the x9006 and the US version ?
Cause right now phone don't detect my t-mobile sim.

From what I can tell, the European has a couple of bands that At&t may use, but not tmobile. Try wiping from recovery. Or maybe even an AOSP rom to see if it's ColorOS. Another option would be to try flashing a different modem
Wrong choice getting this phone. I am going to sell it today lol.

It does exist a Global model for mi6?
A global ROM hast he band 20?
Not at this time. Perhaps in future but it's unlikely as they reveal MI6 for taiwan and it wasn't a global version.

Does the official global rom come with Google Play installed, or does it still need to be added?
Also, can you download and play movies from Google Play, or use the download feature on Netflix? Neither of those work on my Mi4C.
This is the only thing holding me back from ordering a Mi6. Really hoping that stuff works, since the Mi6 is not China-only like the Mi4C.
Enjoying it so far?
anyone know if this would work in the usa on gsm sais it supports band 4....http://www.geekbuying.com/item/Offi...-Mi-6-6GB-64GB-Smartphone---Black-379852.html

But does this actually matter if, for example, on EE in the UK you get 4g via other bands too... so would it actually make a difference?
Curious if anyone here has tried it on EE in the UK?

I believe EE doesn't use band 20, so it's golden.
I come from a Moto X 2014. I'm on three and I've had LTE coverage everywhere I went. Mind you, I'm in London and if I venture into the country I might not get LTE there, as band 20 is also used by three, possibly in less populated areas.

Hi, thanks... I hope so, I want to get one for my wife... This site says EE do use band 20, but not exclusively, so I don't know if it is a regional thing, different bands working in different areas or what. https://willmyphonework.net

T-Mobile User Losing Anything with Unlocked S9?

I've been reading about firmware and how users flashed the T-Mobile Firmware on their S8's to gain some services. Am I missing anything with my S9 and keeping it on the unlocked firmware? I've searched these forums and the web but there are no sound conclusions if I am hurting my service by not flashing the firmware.
Thanks for the help

No. ALL TMobile features work with the US unlocked version. I'm using one myself on tmobile.
The only "feature" you'll be missing is the 600mhz/B71 band on T-Mobile, which is new an somewhat "upcoming" anyways. I think the S9 Tmo is one of the first phones (if not the only phone) to support this band.

The first phone carried by a US carrier to support the 600MHz was actually the LG V30. Since then the Moto Z2 Force, S9, S9+, Note 8, and S8 active all support 600MHz. Last week LG launched the first budget phone to support 600MHz, and that's the LG K30 at $225.
Edit: All, if not almost all of the phones I listed have native support for 600MHz (assuming Snapdragon versions), so all carriers phones if unlocked will be able to take advantage of the 600MHz on T-mobiles network.
Multi line (digits) doesn't appear to work in the unlocked version. The app still functions though, however the experience is so much better when it's baked into the firmware.
I'm on a sm-g960w on Rogers and they have a 2600mhz band that's nice when nobody's on it lol.
I recently flashed over to ARC6 (tmb I think) and then sideloaded an update up to ARDA (may update). My device reads sm-g960u now and I'm wondering if I'll still be able to get on that band.
Thanks in advance if anyone knows, the way I usually measure isn't working and I don't have root.

If you dial *#2263# do you also see US bands enabled like band 28, 71, 14???
If so I'd be willing to take my chances and would flash the U1/U baseband/firmware

None of them do AFAIK. The HK Snapdragon version *could* but there's no guarantee. And even if you do get some service do expect other things (wifi calling, volte, et al) to have trouble or not work and don't expect VZW to support as they will see your IEMI as an unsupported device.

I'm also going to put on the record that the SM-N975F/DS model worked for me on Verizon straight out of the box. I was worried about it because it did not work with the SM-N9750/DS that I accidently recieved. And so to anybody on Verizon, be very careful to get the F model, 0 will not work even though it should be able to. You do not want to be paying for restocking fees on this phone.
Curiously enough, Verizon officially has told me that only the U models are supported on the network. This is an obvious lie because they would have had to specifically whitelist other models of the phone for them to work, so they do know that other models work on the network. Its just that some are blacklisted and others aren't.

Why convert from T-Mobile to International firmware?

Just ordered a HD1907 today. I'm gathering info for modding when it arrives, but see a lot of discussions about converting from T-Mobile to International firmware. Why is this desirable? I'm an AT&T customer, so I'd be worried that the device would lose compatibility with their network if I did this.

It'll work great with at&t as Global variant. You'll need to convert to use custom roms

Ok, I'll give it a shot when it arrives (next Wednesday?).
Here's my quick experience
No carrier bloat. (Splashscreen and bundled apps)
Dual sim activated (Provided you have a supported sim tray)
Timed and easier updates directly from OnePlus (surpassing the carrier)
Better signal strength (Using an HD1907)
Extensive custom rom support (If you're into the modding scene)
I did the conversion, and the phone won't work on AT&T. It did work with the stock T-Mobile firmware, oddly. Any ideas what went wrong?
