No network - Oppo Find 7 and 7a

Got scammed today. Bought a used Find 7a but it only work with AT&T. Put my Tmobile sim card has no network signal.
I thought this phone came unlocked. Does anyone know how to unlock it ?

And you did check to see that apn settings are correct, right? Some earlier versions had to have a setting changed to work with tmobile. I use tmobile with no problems

I did check the APN, seems there. But it saids no sim detected or something.
My main question is no company here in LA carry this phone include the big one like ATT and Tmobile. This Oppo is import from China.
I will assume that this is unlocked. Especially my friend stick in his AT&T sim card to my Oppo and it works like a charm. It shows LTE.
If that works with ATT, why would Tmobile not working ? Just I have no clue.

Do you know which version you have? x9000, x9005, x9006, or x9007?
You need the x9006 version AND the US version.

oh that I don't know. To be honest I don't know much about this phone. Except the Oneplus one. I got it for my daughter.
So if AT&T works, does it mean I got the x9006 and the US version ?
Cause right now phone don't detect my t-mobile sim.

From what I can tell, the European has a couple of bands that At&t may use, but not tmobile. Try wiping from recovery. Or maybe even an AOSP rom to see if it's ColorOS. Another option would be to try flashing a different modem

Wrong choice getting this phone. I am going to sell it today lol.

Unlocked T999 Rom/Carrier Question

I have an unlocked T-Mobile S3 and I am ready activate it on Straight Talk which I believe uses ATTs network. My question is concerning custom roms; can anyone confirm that using roms specifically for the T-Mobile version will or will not cause issues if i use a different carrier?
Thanks

I was a bit confused because there are several threads/devs trying to make sure users know to flash the right rom for their phone version. I also know that the ATT & T-Mobile versions are identical, besides the ATT version supporting ATT's LTE frequency and TM's supporting their HSPA+ frequency, and since I bought this phone off contract w/o warranty I want to make sure don't end up with a $600 paperweight.
Thanks for your confirmation!
Wait... Just some that we're on the same page, I read that as if you took a T-Mo phone, with a custom ROM, unlocked it, and used the phone on another GSM carrier, would there be problems - the answer is no.
If you take a T-Mo phone and use another carrier's ROM that's not compatible with T-Mo's phone - yes you will have problems.

[Q] Flash T-Mobile Rom on AT&T M8??

I have an AT&T M8 which I unlocked, rooted and s-off'd while under AT&T contract. I then decided to switch to T-Mobile and give this device to my 11-year old son. What I'd like to know/understand is whether I can flash some of the T-Mobile Roms I see in this forum on the AT&T M8 and it work with T-Mobile network? Or do I still need to flash the AT&T Roms?
Thanks in advance for any help advice!
Johnny
SIM unlocked would allow you to use it on stock AT&T too if you choose to. Also everything seems to be interchangeable unless noted. I would go for Rom with T-Mobile's Wi-Fi calling, which is amazing btw for those who get sorry service.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app

You should be able to flash either T-mobile or AT&T (Even roms in the international section, I would recommend InsertCoin) roms without any issues. Eleven and has a M8? Damn, i'm jealous lol.

Thanks for the information to the both ^^^^^^^^ of you! I appreciate it. Yes , he is 11 years old, but a good respectful kid and does well in school. With that I'm okay with giving him nice things. If that should change, then Daddy gets the M8 back!!! LOL
Somewhat related question... If I u were to use an AT&T model on T-Mobile, would everything work correctly, 3g/4g? Comparing the frequency bands online, the AT&T model is missing the 1700 band that the T-Mobile version has. Does that mean the phone doesn't have the hardware components to connect to it? Or is it capable of connecting, just that AT&T doesn't use that band? I'm asking because I want to pickup a used m8, but the T-Mobile version is going for around $100 more than all the other carrier's versions... Could I just SIM unlock an AT&T version and be set, or will some things not work?

That's a good question and hoping someone will have the answer. In the meantime I was able to SIM unlock my son's ATT M8 and install a TMobile SIM using stock ATT rom. So far everything has worked and the 4G symbol does appear in the task bar, although I'm not sure if that really means he's getting 4G. I did have to manually enter the APN settings so he could get mobile data when not connected to wifi.
Tmobile apn settings
Would you mind posting the apn settings that allowed your sons phone to work on 4g and send mms? Its the main reason I'm looking into flashing a Rom and would save me a lot of trouble as I have spent quite a bit of time searching for one that works on my phone and none seem to do the trick.

Is there a difference between models?

Going back to when I purchased my early OnePlus devices, I imported them from China. This year, with the 7T was no exception. I found it for $435.00. A considerable savings over the $599.00 OnePlus is asking on its website. I haven't been able to see a difference in the US, China/India and EU models, is there one?
Just some differences in supported 4g bands.
Thanks
I got 7T purchased directly from oneplus, the VVM on stock dialer will not work on TMobile.

Tried to make it work for about a week.
I tried to reset, called tmo tech, It only works using the tmo vvm app, but not on the stock dialer. Tmo tech reset my vm, sent ota, etc. Modified the phone xml too.
As soon i got the Tmo 7T, VVM works rightaway using stock dialer.

I was wondering, if you flash the international version of oos, do the other bands become accessible or usable? That's based on possibly reading that all 7t versions were the same hardware/radios but limited to certain bands due to their firmware. Can't recall where I may have read it though...thoughts?

I don't think so. Doesn't hurt to try though lol but I don't think firmware flash will unlock bands.

SM-N976V 5G on Telus network

I purchased this model of phone through Best Buys online retailer. They misadvertised the phone model and sent me this SM-N976V.
The phone seems to work fine aside from the fact that it doesn't show the 5G network here. I confirmed with Telus that their network is operational.
Does anyone know why it isn't working with this phone or if there's some sort of workaround?
I Googled that model. It came up Verizon. It also came up that a ton of people had issues with it and the 5G network. Something about that phone came out in 2019 and it isn't compatible with the new 5G network. You might want to talk to tech support.

That's the problem, it's a Verizon model. The phone was advertised as just a SM-N976 and they just sent me this Verizon model instead.
I am wondering if there's some way to remove the Verizon software to make it just a plain universal model.

I have yet to find anything to open a Verizon phone to make it universal. Verizon is on the CDMA network and say AT&T is on the GSM network. So I don't know if it's in the phone or sim card that makes the phone universal.

Look into changing the CSC to GCF instead of VZW and (for my n976v with one ui 3.1 &hiddenmenu) it took all of verizons bloat off apon sim change.

Why convert from T-Mobile to International firmware?

Just ordered a HD1907 today. I'm gathering info for modding when it arrives, but see a lot of discussions about converting from T-Mobile to International firmware. Why is this desirable? I'm an AT&T customer, so I'd be worried that the device would lose compatibility with their network if I did this.

It'll work great with at&t as Global variant. You'll need to convert to use custom roms

Ok, I'll give it a shot when it arrives (next Wednesday?).
Here's my quick experience
No carrier bloat. (Splashscreen and bundled apps)
Dual sim activated (Provided you have a supported sim tray)
Timed and easier updates directly from OnePlus (surpassing the carrier)
Better signal strength (Using an HD1907)
Extensive custom rom support (If you're into the modding scene)
I did the conversion, and the phone won't work on AT&T. It did work with the stock T-Mobile firmware, oddly. Any ideas what went wrong?
