Is anyone working on device source for Nokia 3.2? - Nokia 3.2 Questions & Answers

Hello,
Is anyone working on device source for Nokia 3.2 to get Teamwin Recovery? I noticed that unlocking Bootloader now works without EDL Mode needed on both International and Europe versions.
Maybe someone Who has Experience with development is working on that?

TWRP/CWM vs Phhusson

Hello,
The Freddy phone from Wiko is a new Qualcomm based mobil. His Android Marshmallow settings allow to unlock OEM bootloader.
We are wishing an easy way to root it and one click apps are not able to, for now.
A recovery would help a lot. Would you be able to port twrp or cwm, pleased ?
The phhusson boot.img say offering an easier way to port, isn't it ?
Wich method will root first the Freddy !?

Does 6.1 support Treble?

[UPDATE]
Confirmed to support Treble by "ali ba".
Hello all,
I've read lots of conflicting news about the support status of Project Treble in Nokia 6 (2018),
Can anyone confirm the support or the lack of it once and for all?
Thanks.
Correct me if I'm wrong but every device launching with 8.0 has to support Treble does it not? I guess the problem lies with whether Nokia will provide the ability to unlock the bootloader. I'm not sure if it makes a difference that this is an Android One device in this respect.
Does anyone have an official firmware available for download? I have TA-1054, China version and it seems it has a custom firmware. Thank you.

You're absolutely right, the problem is the Chinese release was on Nougat, and nobody has yet ran the Treble flag test on the international version.. maybe because not so many hands got it yet... We'll wait..
According to the test app it does support Treble, but I'm not sure whether to trust it.
Came with an update out of the box and I didn't check the version before applying it (which would have made that clearer).

Thank you very much!!! finally some useful results, I think we can trust the app, but just to make sure, could you please follow the procedure described in this page.. more specifically the terminal flag test..

Also, do you own the Chinese device or the international one?

Hi, same here. Do you have any news? Have you managed to install unmodified Android to your TA-1054? Will appreciate any info.
Thanks.

Nope, no news yet.
Can someone tell us the difference between all Nokia 6 2018 models please?
TA-1068
TA-1045
etc...
Is there a specific model for 'Worldwide' like Nexus/Pixel?
Is there a Europe version?
...
...
THANKS!
[Update]
Just noticed you actually did just that... Thanks.
I think this is an important topic that deserves it's own thread..
Would you care to start it?, also what models are sold in what markets?
That would be useful.
cheers.
Try to obtain the global firmware of TA-1054. I can provide you with the firmware.
I have two Nokia 6.1 devices. One is TA-1054 and the other is TA-1089. Both Global/International/Made in India version. I have the firmware files. But I doubt, you'll be able to flash them with the Stock recovery in your Chinese Variant. If you want the links, I'll provide you. And yes, Nokia 6.1 supports Treble. And I've recently flashed Android 11 GSI. Well, only issue was unlocking the boot loader to flash custom recovery. I never want to bootloader unlock any other Nokia phone anytime soon.
The TA-10xx naming determines the variant of the phone. The (4 + 64 GB) variant is TA-1089. The values change depending on the ram and storage size. Also newer models for the same phone we're released with Mediatek processors and Snapdragon for different markets. Just like Samsung does, sells the Exynos variant in Asia while selling the Snapdragon variant in US, UK, EUR, etc. Nokia also started doing this with their Nokia 5.1 and 5.3( if I recall correctly, not sure). So those phones have multiple variants. The TA-10XX naming scheme is quite similar to RM-xxx scheme followed by Nokia in the past, when Nokia was owned by Nokia and not HMD. In fact, their shift to TA-XXXX naming suggest that they belong to the family of Android/HMD owned Nokia and not the old Nokia. Even the 3310 (The beast) and 8110 4G have TA-XXXX product code instead of the RM-XXX. It's like a product code which can determine the RAM, Storage and Chipset as well as Region of the device.
So to flash Android R, TWRP or TWRP based custom recovery is required. Then flash any Android 10 Custom ROM with Treble support. Also flash dm no verify.zip with the ROM. Reboot to set up device. Don't add any Google account and password, etc. Then again boot into TWRP, changed to Image mode from zip mode in Install. Flash the system.img from Android 11 GSI.
Then reboot.

Treble bootloop on G960F

Hello everyone,
I'm getting really frustrated hree as I can't flash any android 10 GSI. I either get bootloop, stuck on samsung logo or stuck on restarting on samsung logo.
Flashing different kernels seem to change the above behavior (instead of bootloop I get samsung logo and vice-versa).
I tried everything:
Doing the no-verity thingie...
Flashing stock files then GSI - nothing.
Flashing soldiers oreo kernel - nothing
Flashing endurance kernel - nothing
I can't find a vendor image that's compatible with any GSI on my phone. I also can't find any kernel that's compatible either.
So please, end my misery... if anyone managed to install android 10 GSI on this TREBLE COMPATIBLE DEVICE, please guide me through or provide any useful file (vendor img/kernel) that I might have been missed.
I wrote this because I couldn't find anything that could help... Thanks in advance!
EDIT:
I solved the problem with the kind help from phhusson and the guidance from Lanreallenjay (thanks, both of you!), so I'm trying to provide the solution for anyone that might be having the same problem as I had. So here it is:
For PIE GSI: use stock kernel/vendor (anything stock), flash the GSI, then flash Magisk -> it should boot fine now (only tested with phhusson's GSI. I had vibrating restart loops before, I wasn't installing magisk, that was my mistake)
For Android 10 GSI: same as above, but install the modded Magisk from phhusson's git (located @ v200 android 10 gsi post) instead of the normal one .

Hey, thanks for the interest!
I've got the S9 Exynos variant (SM-G960F, Europe), I unlocked the bootloader several days ago.
It's on android 9 right now, I flashed the stock firmware after I've tried everything to get android 10 treble to work and failed.
Current kernel version: 4.9.59-16947752 (stock)
Build number: PPR1.180610.011.G960FXXS7CSJ3
I can flash any rom available besides GSI (I've used lineage OS 16 for a couple of days).
If you need anything else more specific just ask, I don't really know what exactly can help with this situation.
Cheers!

After flashing G960FXXS7CSJ3 November stock firmware I can no longer flash anything.

When I try downgrading to G960FXXU5CSF2 June firmware Odin fails and the screen says:
SW REV. CHECK FAIL (BOOTLOADER) DEVICE: 7 BINARY: 5
November G960FXXS7CSJ3 seems to have upgraded the bootloader security, does anyone know a fix?

Yep, it does. Buuut the rom is not stable at all, I've got random reboots/ crashes when opening settings and such, not usable at all. I'm on ONE UI 2.0 beta now which is much more stable (daily driver stable actually).

Have you tried formatting data with TWRP (to the part when it asks you to write "yes") then flash no-verity?
You should at least be able to flash TWRP. If you can't, just download the proper USB drivers for your device, it might be the culprit.
Cheers!

Phh just hinted it's likely Pie vendor causing panics:
"First you need to flash stock rom. Then install magisk and then this gsi.
Though please note that on Pie vendor, S9 kernel panics and reboot every few minutes, so it is highly unusable."

Can someone with more experience enlighten us about the differences between the A only and A/B?

No real experience but A\B devices have two slots ie double the partitions (OnePlus has 67) .
This allows updates to be installed while running from slot A while the updated system is copied to B.
Apparently Q requires A\B so now we're on Q may as well try that next time we're curious
Phh just released:
AOSP 10.0 v208
Fix suspend/dt2w for Samsung Q vendor
Fix backlight for Samsung Q vendor
Samsung Q's fine, love gestures but the bloat is killing me.
You can tell Q's going to be so much leaner without bixby & friends.
Glad we installed it to get compatible but I think now we probably stand a better chance with 10 GSI's, hopefully LOS17 & Pixel Experience get updated again soon.
Wondering whether to following the rooting instructions yet?
Phh did say "flash stock rom then magisk and then gsi"

Question When TWRP for OnePlus 9 Pro?

Dear,
I need to have TWRP for rooting my OP9Pro but it is of course not available for the OP9Pro since it is brand new. Since i am experienced with flashing TWRP on OnePlus phones i already now that TWRP officialy doesn't support the latest phones of OnePlus so i know that the TWRP's used for that are from Mauronofrio and others. But does anyone know how long it would take till someone has developed a reliable version of TWRP for it and maybe also how long it would take till MSMDownloadtool become available for us?
Regards,
Kuno
It will become available when it does. No one knows when. One day you may see it. Or not. Flip a coin and good luck!
You also do not need TWRP for root.
There is already this thread asking for TWRP since the start of this sub-forum : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-come-we-dont-have-root-and-twrp-yet.4252335/
For rooting without TWRP, here is an explanation : https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...gisked-boot-root.4252373/page-4#post-84747985

I don't think this is applicable because the recovery is a part of the boot image and this guide is for creating a standalone recovery image I think since android O (someone can correct me if I'm wrong on which android version introduced this)

Well, this guide still covers the basics of setting up a tree and building. You'll need that regardless if your device has a recovery partition or not.

Question Any popular CUSTOM ROM that supports the Nokia G20 ?

I want to install a custom ROM on my Nokia G20 once the official support ends on May 2024.
I visited this page and searched the supported list but couldn't find Nokia G20.
Any custom ROM available for download that supports the G20 ?
I don't want to download a ROM from a random source. My main focus is security which is why I don't want to continue using this device after May 2024.

I wrote "not yet". Does that mean there is hope ? Specifically which ROM can I expect to support the G20 in the near future ? LineageOS ?
Also someone told me something about the bootloader. I don't know much about Android. He told me that Nokia does not allow installation of custom ROMs. Is this true ? If yes then how am I supposed to install a custom ROM even if a project starts supporting the G20 ?

Ah it all depends brother if someone builds a ROM for the device, but if nobody does, there's just no hope.
and it's not true you can still install custom ROMs on Nokia devices, You can surely unlock it's bootloader and you need to install a custom recovery in order to install a ROM. And about how you'd know, there's just no way. like just keep checking the Xda forums of the Device Nokia G20

Hello Friends~! I bought one of these phones specifically to root and build a rom for, since I saw it was lacking any options. I have to finish a project I am working on, so give me a couple weeks max and I should have some stuff up for y'all.

As far as your other question, I like to do three builds, one is a Recovery Rom that is Stock, the second is a Stock Rom that is Rooted, the third one being Lineage with Root. I traditionally put Gapps on there, the mini. I can do images without Gapps if requested, etc.

Hi,
With an unlocked bootloader you can root your device. Then, you can extract vendor files and build a rom from scratch.
For those people that have bootloader unlocked, please, upload vendor files to a git repo.
