I left my phone overnight with a low battery and not charged. The next morning, my home button stopped working. Just my home button and my fingerprint, my back and recent buttons were working fine.
I have been using on-screen buttons since. I have a stock ROM running OxygenOS 9.0.6. I am also not rooted. Thanks to anyone who helps.
you can either backup everything and download an unbrick tool and run it or you can just stick to onscreen nav buttons which i always use because the hardware buttons are overated
I do not have a unlocked bootloader or a custom recovery. And I don't want to reset my phone. Just wanted to know if there was a way to fix this without any modifications. I use my Google pay so I can't root or do anything like that.
well unless you reset your phone there is no other way unless you buy another phone
Ok thanks for all of your help ?

I have a Stock TILT 2 (TP 2) never flashed running basic programs Mobile Shell never had any issues with it, haven't installed new software in a few weeks , but I soft resetted it this morning and it keeps getting stuck in the boot screen. when first turned on it will run through boot screen then load screen for a millisecond then back to boot screen and never advances again , I've tried battery out sim card out Sd card out everything, even tried hard reset , but wont allow me to hard reset with front buttons and power, is there another way to hard reset , is it possible my phone just bricked for no reason ? thanks for any help ?
have you tried to do a hard reset via the pc? the original rom is on the htc website so you can try useing the exe file there. there is also an updated rom you can try to flash there. hope that helps
You might try sending it to the bootloader screen and reflashing. I don't know if it will work, but I thought it might be worth the effort.
I did notice that HTC removed the original shipped ROM for the Tilt2. I'm sure it is floating around here somewhere. If not, I have it and can send it to you when I get home.
Thanks I have original rom and just released wont work.
dod you see anythign on teh screen? if you do, then hard reset may fix it.
Power off your phone (or take teh battery out). Then press and hold teh call and hang up button while press teh power button. it will enter the hard reset mode. (remember hard reset will erase all the info on the phone and rever tot the stock setting).

wow, thank god i dl'd it when i dl'd the updated rom... and they still have the image of the old rom right beside it... lol
as for op, you can try to enter the bootloader with the following steps
Remove the back cover from the phone.
Hold the Volume Down button.
Use the stylus to press the reset hole.
Or if the device was powered off, press the power button whilst holding down the Volume Down button.
and try to flash from there
hope that helps again
So my power button all of a sudden broke. It won't turn off or on, the only way to power the phone off is to pull the battery and it turns back on by itself as soon as I put the battery back in. Doesn't anyone have any ideas? I've already done a factory reset, didn't change anything. Also, it doesn't work to select anything in recovery. So my 2nd question is if anyone can tell me how to flash the stock sprint rom so I can take it in and get it fixed?
.
Use the ruu it will run in windows
Same thing happened to my phone. Damn cheap power button. Was waiting for cm6 to work with the new version hardware. Now that it does I will be doing the same.
What I have been doing as a work around is using widget locker to remap the power button to the volume key. And have a screen off widget. I don't mind it but can't do anything in recovery either anymore. So I am gonna take mine in this weekend. I believe they will give you a replacement phone.
FYI - I got thinking that maybe it wasnt a hardware issue but maybe software - and it would have to be something higher up than the recovery system. Anyway, the button started working again and while it was I flashed a new HBoot thinking that maybe it was a corrupted driver or something. It seems to have fixed it, but YMMV.

You can use the ruu to restore our but it will most likely still show s-off in the bootloader. You can fix that by using adb in recovery mode to flash unrevoked forever while in the recovery
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
My Nexus 7 (2013) won't turn on after I tried to install a custom font from the latest version of Rom Toolbox Pro.
I unlocked the bootloader and rooted it fresh this afternoon with WugFresh's nexus root toolkit. It took a little bit of fiddling to get my pc to recognise my device and for adb/fastboot to work with it, but I managed. Everything went fine once that was sorted out.
I have installed the latest version of Pacman rom for my device (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2408829) from the website linked here, installed all my apps and made a back up before I started using Pimp My Rom and Rom Toolbox Pro.
From Pimp My Rom I installed the GPS fix for Europe/United Kingdom, and the miscellaneous tweaks.
From Rom Toolbox Pro, I installed the font "segoeui". After making these changes with these apps, I rebooted by nexus 7 wherein it entered a bootloop. I waited for 4-5 minutes to see if it would exit the bootloop on it's own, but nothing happened so I held down the three side buttons and my device went off.
After that I plugged it into my pc, which recognises that a device has been plugged in and lists it as "QHSUSB_DLOAD" but can't seem to do anything with it. I tried pressing the power button, and the default symbol for battery charging appeared on the screen so I tried to boot my device into recovery by holding all three buttons again. After doing that, the screen went off and no matter how long I hold down the volume and power buttons, nothing at all happens.
I have only had this tablet for a few hours and I am very worried that I may have inadvertantly destroyed it with the most innocuous amateur rooting, and that I won't be able to return it for a refund if I have.
Can anyone offer me any advice?
Thanks
I think your problem is ... holding ALL three buttons.
Try again with just Power & Volume down. You made a backup so it would be easy to get back.

You're right. I held power and volume down, and it booted into the bootloader. Thanks Bit of a false alarm there, I just panicked when the screen went black and wouldn't come back on ><
Thanks for your help!
No problemo. Glad you're back in business.
I have multiple android devices and they have different key combos to get to recovery.
I got mixed up sometimes. Why don't they all agree to the same steps?
Hi
I have been wanting to speed up my HTC One M8 for some time now. Doing so i've heard installing a new OS would help, like for instance LineageOS. Unfortunately the volume buttons on my phone are broken due to me opening up the phone to fix certain parts. Everything else is working to its fullest, however the volume buttons seem to be beyond repair. I've looked at quite a few guides to flash an OS rom onto my phone, however all these seem to require me navigating with the volume buttons through the bootloader. Is it possible to either simulate a press on volume buttons perhaps through ADB, or completely install the new OS with the phone fully opened? If you have any ideas i'm open for suggestions, as the phone is starting to get quite slow, however i would appreciate an in-depth guide, as i've worked very little with ADB and such.
Any help is appreciated

No way to simulate a button press, that I know of. You don't have access to adb while in bootloader, anyway . You do have access to fastboot, but that is rather limited.
Getting the bootloader unlocked and flashing custom recovery TWRP with the phone open, is possible I suppose. Then after that, I guess you can conceivably boot TWRP and flash a ROM without the vol buttons. But I'd be really hesitant to mod the phone without working vol buttons. The requirement to navigate with the vol buttons in bootloader, as well as the button combo to force a reboot (power+vol up) or boot to bootloader (power+ vol down) are pretty crucial.

Hi, I am interested if Is there a way to root Prime G532F without recovery. Preferably solely from PC.
Back button has gone crazy. I am trying to unmap it and replace it with virtual key.
I have twrp on galaxy and it uses touch input and back button works as well.
If i go into recovery with crazy back button, I may break something.
If there is a way to disable the button without root that would be much better.
