Hi Everyone,
I have a chagalllte tablet from which I'd like to use its 4g function again.
It doesn't work anymore: both IMEI number/baseband version are unknown, and the SIM card is not detected.
I am running lineageos 14.1
I suspect something is wrong in the EFS folder, though no idea what it may be.
The tablet is rooted.
I know the original IMEI number and csc / baseband code, but how do I restore this information so the modem works again?
All right, so: quick update:
I found a LUX stock firmware (lollipop, 5) which I flashed onto the tablet. After letting samsung update it to marshmallow (6), it worked again ...
So, I backed up everything, and moved to LineageOS 14.1 again, and it works!
But: small problem arised: As I am currently not living in LUX, but in BE., the device always displays itself as "roaming". How do I fix that?

Recently, I've flashed a r800a, unlocked with the help of Alejandrissimo, with CyanogenMod and it was working wonderfully.
Since it's a relative's backup phone, I decided to do one last cleanup and return it to them. Inside Android itself, I called for a factory reset and, by accident, clicked on "wipe SD Card" as well.
Silly me, I totally forgot about wiping SD Cards and losing IMEIs with CyanogenMOD (I still keep a /EFS backup of my original Galaxy S).
After a reboot, I noticed that the IMEI is listed as Unknown. I didn't try putting a SimCard in it, to see if the network allows unknown IMEIs to be on it, but I'm somewhat worried now.
I had a ClockworkMod backup of the original firmware, but it was on the phone itself, so that's a goner. I'm thinking reflashing the original stock .FTF file, but I don't think that will restore my IMEI, will it?
Any help?
Since I figured this wouldn't have much support, I decided to do some research for the past 3 hours and managed to fix it myself.
I fixed it by flashing the stock version of the 2.3.4 Generic American firmware for the x800a using Flashtool version 0.6.9.1 (the newer ones wouldn't recognize the .FTF files).
That recovered my IMEI and Baseband. Then I re-installed Cyanogenmod 9.1.0 by following the CyanogenMod blog instructions and the IMEI and Baseband are still there.
I tested with a simcard and I can, again, make calls and join the network.
Hope this can be helpful for other people that find the same issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.
Hi, I faced a problem when I am trying to flash CM 11 into my original 2.3.5 GB Hong Kong Ace 2 (which is a pretty old phone), which no KK nor JB stock rom has been provided (for the HK version), I have my baseband version and IMEI lost.
So, I have tried to backup my IMEI info by copying the 'system\lib\tee' folder and put in into my new system.
The IMEI and the baseband version was restored (I8160ZSLK2), Bluetooth is functioning but I still have no network, despite the fact that my phone has somehow detect my service provider. It seems that the folder I have backed up is outdated for the CM11, and I would like to ask if there is any possible solution to this problem?
Any kind help would be appreciated.
*The backup of my tee folder is attached.

hey all, i'v searched a bit but i could not find any ROM for S4 mini (serranolte) no LTE, no dual sim, eurpe version.. i tryed to flash lineageOS serranoltexx but it's not working (error 7, serranoltexx is not for serranolte). Also I am wondering why there is serranolte, because i have no LTE/4G option in system i recently flashed.. phone was wiped completely due to company policities, so maybe I flashed non LTE version of stock rom with ODIN? Is that possible?
## CLOSE PLEASE##
I don't notice that TWRP is not working with lineageOS. clockworkmod works.

I think you may have flashed the wrong ROM (or your company did), error 7 normally means it has failed when checking you have a compatible ROM for your phone model.
You say "ROM for S4 mini (serranolte) no LTE" but as the name serranoLTE implies it IS for LTE version, LTE =i9195. If your phone only has 3g then you need the serrano3gxx ROM not the LTE, 3g variant is the I9190 (there are other s also). So something is wrong, not sure if it is you or your company that is wrong. You need to check model number shown under battery and flash the correct ROM, if it's the wrong ROM you may get lots of errors, or heat, short battery life etc
TWRP does work and is the preferred recovery as it is actively supported while CWM is no longer supported, maybe that's why it may have allowed you to flash wrong ROM or maybe TWRP thought the phone was the other model as your company had already flashed wrong ROM so gave you the error when it checked compatibility even though you tried to flash he correct ROM.
If your phone is the 3g version then even though you flashed the LTE ROM you will not have LTE as your phone does not have the LTE hardware. Someone did this before, I think they said it does not even show the option in settings, but I could be wrong.
NOTE: flashing the wrong ROM can brick your phone! (though as they are so similar it's unlikely but possible, you are probably the first to flash the wrong version of LinageOS, if that is indeed what you/your co. have done!. So unknown risk.)
Hello,
I have installed a new custom ROM (lineage OS 14.1) on my android phone plus a micro Gapps, now my device doesn't recognize sim cards, because the baseband version is i9192 instead of i9190.
i didn't find any firmware in for this problem, so I need help.
PS: my imei is fine I checked it and i'am new to this plus I am sure that I installed a lineage OS that is compatible, thank you!

The baseband (modem) is separate from the custom ROM it does not change when you flash a custom ROM (but will if flashing a stock ROM) , if you did NOT flash a separate modem file then your phone is probably what it says in the baseband. You need to check what the sticker says under the battery (if you suspect someone has changed the main board you can remove inner plastic cover to see model number on main PCB board)
If wrong you need to check which phone model of TWRP you installed. Now you need to check which ROM you installed. Download correct ones if they are wrong.
(Make a back up of imei & efs. Use this app
In case TWRP doesn't work properly https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ma.wanam.efs
Now also back these up with TWRP if you don't already have a backup of efs /imei)
Revert back
I went back to stock ROM and everything works fine, I reinstalled different ROMs but neither work. Thank you!
Hi there,
After installing lineageos 15.1 on my "new" 2nd hand Nexus 5X I realized that I got on-off network connection.
I checked the baseband version and right now I've the Baseband version M8994F-2.6.42.5.03 --- I couldn't find any information about that one.
but the actual one seems to be "8.1.0 (OPM7.181205.001, Dec 2018)", is there any risk flashing that one?
Is lineageOS insisting on a specific baseband version? (e.g. for compatibility reasons!)
and if I can do it without risking to spend the rest of my week working on my phone:
i know how to flash by fastboot, but I am not sure if I have to reflash recovery and system afterwards.
thanks and cheers
hirntot
Yes, you can flash a different radio partition independently of anything else.
However, radio-bullhead-m8994f-2.6.42.5.03.img is already the latest baseband from bullhead-opm7.181205.001.
I'm also on Lineage 15.1-20191008.
