Recently, I've flashed a r800a, unlocked with the help of Alejandrissimo, with CyanogenMod and it was working wonderfully.
Since it's a relative's backup phone, I decided to do one last cleanup and return it to them. Inside Android itself, I called for a factory reset and, by accident, clicked on "wipe SD Card" as well.
Silly me, I totally forgot about wiping SD Cards and losing IMEIs with CyanogenMOD (I still keep a /EFS backup of my original Galaxy S).
After a reboot, I noticed that the IMEI is listed as Unknown. I didn't try putting a SimCard in it, to see if the network allows unknown IMEIs to be on it, but I'm somewhat worried now.
I had a ClockworkMod backup of the original firmware, but it was on the phone itself, so that's a goner. I'm thinking reflashing the original stock .FTF file, but I don't think that will restore my IMEI, will it?
Any help?
Since I figured this wouldn't have much support, I decided to do some research for the past 3 hours and managed to fix it myself.
I fixed it by flashing the stock version of the 2.3.4 Generic American firmware for the x800a using Flashtool version 0.6.9.1 (the newer ones wouldn't recognize the .FTF files).
That recovered my IMEI and Baseband. Then I re-installed Cyanogenmod 9.1.0 by following the CyanogenMod blog instructions and the IMEI and Baseband are still there.
I tested with a simcard and I can, again, make calls and join the network.
Hope this can be helpful for other people that find the same issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hey there,
I kind of broked my phone.
Yesterday I decided to finally flash AOKP to my GNex, but after doing everything (unlock, root, rename of recovery file and flashing the .zips) my Baseband Verison was unknown and I was not even ask to enter my PIN.
Until now I found out, that the Filesystem of the Baseband might be corrupted, when I try to flash a new Baseband TWRP only says "Failed".
My next Step is to flash the original Firmware, but I have less hope. Is there a way to restore or repair the Baseband without sending it in?
And no, I dont made a backup :crying:
I was now somehow able to flash a radio Image via fastboot by typing fastboot flash radio radio.img .
Now when I am in Fastboot it says:
Baseband i9250XXLH1
but in the runnings System the Baseband is still marked as Unknown.

radios are different for gsm and LTE, make sure you flash the right one
My Nexus also lost IMEI, and missed the baseband. And now it has no tel signal but WIFI.
What I have done in the past days: 1. I updated it from 4.2.2 to 4.3 by OTA, but it failed for I deleted some google apps. 2. Then I flashed it using factory image downloaded from goole, and it works well for days. but yesterday, it could not found the phone network suddenly. And then I found that the baseband missing, and also IMEI.. And now, I re-flash it again using 4.2.2,4.3, but it doesn't work..someone said maybe EFS was corrupted. I don't know what to do now..
Anyone who know how to fix it?
Thanks.

If it is a corrupt EFS partition, You can re-write the IMEI back to the handset using a PC tool, i wouldn't recommend this as it is illegal were i live.
There are many IMEI changer programmes for PC.
Next bet is restore to full stock remove any trace of system mods and send it in for warranty and say when it was plugged into PC to upgrade you can say it black screened whilst upgrading and upon reboot said no service etc.
Hi everybody !
I am a hungarian man, living in Sweden, sorry if my english is pour.
I have got lot of help here with all my android phone, a have some.
I ususally could find here every information to solve my android phone problems.
I am writing first time here to ask som help because a have a strange problem.
I have a note 2, i bought i sweden 2 years ago.
I could root and installed custom rom.
When i did it last time for 1 month ago, i flashed stock rom JB 4.3 from sammobil
N7105XXUEMK9_N7105DNFEMK2_N7105XXUEMJ9_HOME with ODIN, it was OK.
When i started the phone, it forget phone service. There is no sim card, no imei, no 4g.
I know it was my fault i did not make nandroid backup before flashing new one.
I tried to fix, i could download some kind of a service stock files (rom, modem, csc, pit) and tried to reflash,
but it says error, when it flash the modem.
When i flashed only the original JB 4.12 swedish stock rom from sammobil, i could have gsm service, but i have no internal memory, either mobil internet. I could flash perseus kernel, which can use micro sd as an internal memory, so phone is functioning, but no 4G.
Phone is working anyway, i can go to download mod to flash anything, but i could not fix mobile net either way.
I can chose:
if i want to use gsm to call with this phone, i have JB 4.12 but some problem with the internal memory and no 4g
if i want to use usually the phone with JB4.3 with the internal memory and microsd, i have to forget all gsm service
that is a kind of a strange for me
i tried what i could, this phone phone belong to my son already, and he would like to use 4g
i thougt about EFS error ? or modem error ?
i tried to flash lot of custom or stock rom, but no mobile net
unfortunately i have no efs backup, either do not have some kind of other earlier backup, when the phone was OK.
has somebody some kind of a EFS backup ?
even i downloaded EFS program wich can restore EFS but i have no backup

Hi, I have just flashed Rooted Note 2 on 4.3 to the latest stock ROM which I downloaded from the SamMobile and now it will not register on the network.
The new version I flashed was the same as the old as i found it with the CSC N7100BTUEMK2 on sam mobile.
I checked the IMEI and it says 00499010640000 in status menu which is different from the one under the battery.
I did not perform a backup of anything as I was not worried about losing any data.
Any ideas what has happened to it and how to get the IMEI correct again?
I understand this is something to do with an efs file but in what way it has become faulty from flashing the same rom I cannot decipher
Any help much appreciated! :good:

From my experience:
1) Reflash the ROM.
2) Flash a custom ROM.
Both worked for me.
N7105 rocking AOSB with AGNi kernel,
Click "Thanks" if I was of any help!
Thanks, I have reflashed the current 4.3 rom UEMK9 and a slightly older UEMK4 with a DEMJ9 radio.
I have tried lots of radios - DM3, XXDME4, XXMI6, XXMJ5, XXMJ2, and some other modem.bin
From what I understand its when you go from newer to older roms that you get IMEI problems, so its prob useless to try pre 4.3
Its all a bit confusing to me and which rom has which radio seems like an arcane mystery.
It is quite possible that I flashed a same version 4.3 rom but my old radio was different and not knowing it was such a minefield on Galaxy phones I never checked that or bothered with a back up.
I may have to resort to paying the people at unlocksamsung online £26 to reset my IMEI
Can anyone tell me, is it just the radio that causes the IMEI problem and should I just trawl through flashing radio zips until my IMEI comes back so I can save the efs file?
BTY everything else seems ok SN is correct and wifi works fine, I just can't get on a network without my correct IMEI
Thx
i also have the same issue on my note 2 gt-n7100 and now phone does no respond to the touch post rooting and all..i am tired of rooting and unrooting the phone like 100 times allready and now my phone is stuck in loop
Hello, last week I was given a Samsung Galaxy Ace II to install a custom ROM on, however, after flashing CM 11 I noticed that the phone wasn't recognizing the sim card, so I tried to downgrade again but I got the same issue. So far I've installed about 10 different stock firmware and updates and the phone still doesn't want to recognize the sim card.
The phone was originally working with the operator Movistar (Venezuela). But it seems like there's no official firmware for my country. I've already tried this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=53921158&postcount=8 and it didn't work.
There's just one thing that I've read online but haven't tried, something that has to do with the "tee" folder, I don't really know what I'm supposed to do with it, and I also don't know where to get the original files from.
If there's anything that you guys know that might help me, please post it.
PS: The phone was originally running 2.3.6 GB (In case that matters).
PSS: Yes, I am pretty dumb for not backing up the entire firmware prior to installing CM, but there's nothing I can do now.
So I was trying to root my phone. I unlocked the bootloader from HTCdev and managed to install TWRP. I selected the read and write option though I think that may have been a mistake reading some of the posts on this forum.
Anyways the next step was flashing superuser unfortunately I flashed the latest version however apparently only till 2.64 works. This caused a bootloop. As I had no ideas, I wiped my phone and installed CM13. Now my phone boots up and runs perfectly and I can install other ROMs too but one critical error is that my phone doesn't recognize my sim card. It says baseband is unknown and IMEI number field is blank if I check using the dialer. My phone is S-ON.
This seems to be a common error around this forum but I can't find a solution which helps me.
Most people suggest flashing the stock rom but since my phone is S-ON I can only flash the Canadian videotron version which I can't find anywhere. I found nandroid twrp backup here in the following link but I don't know what to do with it. I put it on my phone but obviously I can't flash it nor does TWRP automatically find it to restore it. Do I have to flash it from my computer somehow like ODIN is used for Samsung(?) phones ?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
