Have anyone else experienced that after few hours from boot internal ring tones disappears from settings app and they are all set to none. If I select mp3 from sdcard it sticks. But default ring tone is set back to none.
Boot fixes this issue.
I have EU 7t and have rooted it with magisk. No twrp.
Oos 10.0.4 no upgrade to .5 yet for me :/
Ive been trying to watch logcat for media storage or other faults or errors but nothing special. They just disappears. Factory reset did not help if I recall correcly.
Anyone else with the same issue?

Since I upgraded to 2.2 I haven't been able to set my own message tone. I have the mp3 that I want to use sat on my sd card, but it won't allow me to copy and paste to the notifications file on my phone, and says "insufficient file permissions"
I have tried via HTCSync, tried two different file managers but still nothing. Can anyone shed any light??? I would also like to change the boot up noise but can't do that either.
Generic Stock 2.2 (Orange debranded) if that helps.
Thanks
Searching helps. Put ringtones and notification sounds in their respective directories in the media directory on your SD card. Search marked for silent boot.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
Thanks for that, but I want to change the boot noise, not make it silent. I want to use the Xbox start up noise lol.
I am using one of the CM7 nightlies, nightly 132 i think. At some point i noticed that a custom ringtone I had created was ringing the phone instead of the CM7 default ringtone. I changed the ringtone to one of the other standard CM7 ringtones. The next time my phone rang it was still a custom ringtone. I went into file manager and changed file suffix so that the file would no longer be seen and hoping the phone would then default to the ringtone I had chosen. Instead the phone only vibrates now. Any way I can force the phone to see the default ringtones.
Like I said before, I'm using CM7 nightly, I think 132 with Tiamet 4.0.x kernel.
i have had the same exact problem since i flashed CM7.1.0 RC1, tried the same thing (deleting the song) and now the phone only vibrates, as well. Just wanted to state your not the only one. Would really like a solution for this, i've tried using the winamp 'set as ringtone' setting without luck, as well....

I didn't solve the root cause of this issue, but to get the ringtone i wanted I copied the ringtone file from the 'ringtones' folder to the 'music' or 'audio' folder where the ringtone i didn't want to ring the phone was stored. I'd already changed the suffix of the custom ringtone so that it can't inadvertently be selected by the phone.
It works, but i still don't know why the phone isn't looking in the correct folder for the ringtones.
I currently have Nil's Business Gingersense 3D and no matter where I place my mp3 collection (SD or EMMC) no music player or system app can detect any of it. The music has been detected before by Stock Sense and Synergy Rom so I know it's in an Android readable format. Any ideas?
Edit: After some adjustments I managed to get my mp3's detected on my SD card but not EMMC. Isn't Business Sense supposed to detect music off the EMMC?
Music on emmc and sd card works on Nils Business Gingersense 3.0. I should know, I've been running the 3.0 rom since July.
"Business Sense" is his froyo rom so you mean "Business Gingersense 2.1/3.0+3D" correct? This was taken straight from Post #2 of Business Gingersense 2.1/3.0+3D:
"Known Problems
As far as I can tell the only thing not working 100% is the
* Music on EMMC (Internal Storage) not found by stock music player.
- Fix - You can try other players from the market - PowerAmp works"
I'll try that, thanks.
Another issue, all of my custom notification sounds aren't used at all by the system. I select my default notifications and custom ringtones but the only sound I'm hearing are the default notifications and ringtones. Any help there?
I don't use ringtones/custom notifications but I just looked into it on my phone. I called from one of my contacts with a song from my music library as the ringtone, I even switched it twice and this worked both times like normal. Earlier I moved my music from sd card to emmc and when I tried selecting ringtones just now it wouldn't work. I did a reset as I realized my phone hadn't recognized that I moved those files.
My question to you is:
1) Have you moved your music files from one location to another since the last time you did a reboot?
2) How are you setting them?
Again, I use the default ringtones as they are neutral if my phone goes off at work so I'm not much help. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can help out. I'm about to test with gmail to see if custom notification sounds fails.
Edit: just tested with my Gmail app and my sound is changed there as well. When you change your ringtone for a contact or for emails (gmail, etc.), in the location that you manually switch the sound does it state that it is changed from default to customized? As in, does it not switch from default to custom notification sound xyz?
For a contact:
Droid Incredible
Call: Droid Inc.

Default (or your customized ringtone?)
I have not moved my music files anywhere since the last reboot.
I've been setting my contacts' ringtones through Sense' people widget, my ringtone through settings > sound > phone ringtone, my default notification through settings > sound > notification sound, and other custom notifications sounds through the various apps I use.
I just double checked to see if the sounds were selected and they are. I have no idea why they're not playing properly.
That is weird. How about this
1) Redownload the rom and place it on your sd card
2) Perform a Nandroid in Recovery (or Amon Ra if that's your recovery)
3) Format data, wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, format boot, & format system
4) Flash the rom
5) reboot and see if you still have the issue.
So I just noticed today when I select artist in samsung music, the app crashes. i have wiped data, wiped cache and rebooted but it still does the same thing. All the other tabs work just fine, just not artist. Anyone else seeing this or have a suggested fix for it?
Anyone have this problem?

Originally, I didnt have any music locally stored on my device. After seeing your post, I found a few mixtapes(full albums), downloaded them, extracted the zips and they all work without any problems including using all of the tabs in the music app. So i'm not sure where the problem for you may be...
Edit
Are you running in ART mode?
Ok, here's the deal. So last night i pulled the SD card, wiped all custom files that are written from the phone (android folder etc. ), wiped the internal device storage and factory reset. The problem is now gone. I don't know what caused it but now it's fixed. Chalk one up to dumb luck.
Hi all,
I've a Max 3 running Miui 10.01.0 Android 8.1.0 with the paid version of Nova.
I keep getting notifications for email, texts, alarms ect resetting to defaults and i can't work out why?
I'm not rebooting the phone, I'm not installing anything that would mess with other apps.
I'll set a tone for say Whatsapp or incoming texts and it works, but then a few days later it'll go back to the system default and I'll start me miss messages. When I check systems settings for the app, the one for sounds has switched itself back to off??
Can anyone suggest what's going on?
Thanks
I had that exact issue on oreo miui...I don't have any issues now with notifications on miui pie but I never figured out why this happened.
I tried many things..even after a clean flash with nothing installed this happened so it was not due to magisk or anything.
Now I have problem mounting partitions.
It started with the system partition, now /data is RW but the same thing happens.
Even if it says RW the folder I made and files I copied are gone after a reboot.
I will test if mounting /data in the terminal with, "mount -o remount,rw /data" when I have time
Last time I flashed the xiaomi eu pie I made a text file named test in /data and rebooted after each app or config I made to see if the file was still there.
First it was resolved by not installing the latest nfs magisk module.
Second time now I skipped this and the file remained until now...during this time I've just used the phone, haven't done any configurations.
I can't figure out why this issue reappears again and again on miui stock rom.
