Yet another update, this is like the 3rd in a month for the Note 10+ 5G.
You wait ages for one and then, bam......
I know they say not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but this has me wondering as to whether the software for this device was rushed in the first instance, that it needs so many updates now.
I didn't receive any 3rd update. Last one is 259,69 MB with improved camera. Than I got fingerprint security update. That's all. I have N10+, so maybe some problems exist in 5G variant, that's why you got 3 updates. Interesting. Somebody got 3 updates in N10+?

Hate to disagree with you, but, counting the fingerprint security update, it's 3.
Yes, but the fp update is beeing issued as a patch for a really weird bug

Agreed, but that still makes 3 updates in a month for the SM-N976B.
Don't get me wrong, the Note 10+ was a beast before the updates, the updates can only serve to make it an even better beast.
For instance, the improvement of the FP scanner is great, even though I personally had no issues with it in the 1st place, for me, it's now lightening fast as opposed to fast.
I love my Note 10+, best device I've ever used.

Hey guys. I'm a preety satisfied OP2 user. For whole year I've been using this phone with ups and downs. Now after 3.0.2 update, phone is better than ever. I even left Beanstalk CM13 for the official update...(Am I crazy? :cyclops
I'm wondering what You think, is it really a good idea to update OP3 right now? In my honest opinion I do not see any great upgrades that are really a must have for a OP2 user...
My OnePlus2 is fast, camera is nice, screen is one of my favourite (compared to samsungs overstaurated SAMOLEDs and cheap LCDs)
Do we really need 6gb of RAM ?

Well, if you want Android Pay, you're gonna want the OP3. Also, if the SD810's overheating issue is driving you nuts during gaming session, you might want to try your luck with the SD820. Apart from that, I don't really see any reason to switch. Not for the 2.5D glass, not for the AMOLED screen, and definitely not for those ridiculous 6 gigs of RAM. But that's just my 2 ct.
i change because i want to having OPO 2

Yes for sure, as you said you have had the the OP2 for a year....more than long enough to justify a new device

yes better design
light weight
dash charge
Better design ?!
IMHO the design is the worst part about OP3. It no longer has it's own uniqe identity...sandstone back, specific shape of camera module etc.
Now it is just another chineese smartfone that looks a little bit like this and that... ;(
i hate the SD810, so in my mind ,i will upgrade to the OP3

Personally the looks are build are the main reason im getting one, even possibly dumping my nexus 6p for it, never like the sandstone back and replaced with another. Pretty much htc 10 is is a beast but to small, this is pretty much a nicer looking htc 10 thinner and has bigger screen, im all in

Everyone who bought a heatdragon 810 should get rid of it the first chance they have
Anyway I don't think you really need our answers. I'm probably gonna buy a oneplus 3 later today, but I'm still on my Samsung Galaxy s3 so for me a new phone is certainly justified
If I were you I would wonder if you're annoyed at anything from your current phone and what extras this new phone would really offer you. My own phone is restarting once a day (soft reboot) and it's a bit slow these days (on cm13) so that's worth an upgrade for me this year. Your reasons could be different.
Sent from my GT-I9300 using XDA Free mobile app
Problem is that there is nothing that annoys me with op2...snap 810 is not causing any problems for me.

If your OP2 just works fine, you may just wait until the next release to have some real improvements, I switched from the OPO to the OP3, because OPO had not the LTE bands I need.
Hi guys, I have now S7 Edge, I have from the date when phone got in sale last year.
What you can recommend me or give me some reason to maybe sell this phone, and buy a O3T
?
Someone make same decision?
Poslano sa mog SM-G935F koristeći Tapatalk
S7e is a good phone with great hardware, but personally i just hate the software Samsung puts on it. it's one of the reasons the OP3T is actually a bit better in terms of performance.
that being said, at this point you might as well just wait for the next oneplus phone to be released since that will likely be a more noticeable gain.
I also want to switch from the s7 edge to the op3 or op3t. After 2 years with an oneplus one, I really can't get used to the touchwiz. I know there are custom roms, but the camera isn't that great with them. One thing that I like on the s7 edge it's the screen and how it feels when you touch it. So, did anyone compared the screen of this two devices and noticed big changes?
Waste of money in my eyes. S7 is still a very good phone. You can upgrade when there is something way better.
Well, Personally I would instantly switch, I hate anything other than stock android because it limits personalization and usefulness. Now the S7 edge is a perfectly capable phone for most- its fast, good battery and features, but the moment Samsung stops supporting it, the phone is as good as dead(well maybe 6 months after they stop supporting it). But point being, samsung is a pain in the *** to mod, and since you are on xda, you know what I mean. Odins n stuff... meh. Getting a oneplus 3T will almost certainly guarantee a safe passage into the constantly evolving technology life. You can use it at its full capacity for at least 3 years(thats the official support) but after that OP releases everything and the drivers are close to what Google requires so support from xda developers will continue long after the official one. Now say you dont care about that cause you switch phones every 2 years. Well then, the OnePlus 3T has to offer faster charging, and a better camera, and the oxygen OS is truly the best android OS out there, it gets things done as easy and as quickly as possible. So it still is a big improvement over what the s7 offers. I would suggest selling the S7 edge and getting 3T, or waiting for OP4. But first try to root the s7 and put something CM based on it, to see if its stable and it has good camera drivers. The choice is yours. The two devices worth switching over are OnePlus 3T and pixel. Samsung, sony, xiaomi, etc all heavily modified phones with limitations and clustered UI that will last you 2 years tops

Just stick to your S7 Edge, the only reason I can see in favor of the OP3T is software, which is closer to stock and performs more fluidly compared to Samsung's TouchWiz. Otherwise hardware on the S7 is generally superior to the OP3T and you're better off waiting for OP4
Is it worth upgrading to a pixel xl 2 at this time of year? Is it better to hold off and get a new handset from another manufacturer like p20 pro from Huawei
Depends what you're looking for I guess: The latest, fastest hardware... or always running the latest software.
Personally I wanted a trouble-free phone (I'm not even rooting anymore) that will get Android updates very quickly. I don't care that much for the latest hardware as long as my phone is fast, and the Pixel 2 is blazing fast.. so yeah, the choice was obvious for me.
What are you looking for in a phone? The best hardware for 12 months, of the latest software for the 24-36 months to come? Both are valid choices really

I like the idea of pixel xl 2 but there are new phones getting released in a months time in Paris etc. I just don't want to regret getting the pixel xl 2 knowing it has display problem or should I hold off for the Huawei P20 pro. I don't want a Samsung S9 as it alwsys lags

If it were me, and it's not, and if you can, I would hold out until at least October. By then you'll have a good read on how the new phones are performing, and see what Google has to offer in the Pixel 3. I love my P2XL, having said that, I'm already looking forward to what the P3XL has to offer. And that's my 2 pennies worth ?

I'm hearing you but I'm due for an upgrade. I don't want to wait till October and make my decision based on that. I'm talking about a months time at the most. I know the Pixel XL 2 is one amazing device but coming from a flawless screen scares me that the pixel xl 2 might irritate me with lower quality screen.
I was expecting sony to release a new 4k device at MWC but that didn't happen as i was looking forward to that. On the other hand the P20 pro is around the corner. Seeing what the mate 10 pro achieved it might be worth getting the P20 pro with 3 cameras and OLED display. I will get the pixel in a heart beat but worried about screen as it is the most used part of the screen.

I'm not getting it directly through google. Its through a carrier. So I can't test the device.
I ordered the Fold 2 this weekend because of no damn Google services.
Feel like im downgrading because the Mate XS still looks better and has better software.
What a pity.
{Mod edit: Political statement removed. Oswald Boelcke}
I'm thinking the same. I've got gms installed but the phone is too expensive to not have notifications from apps that message through Google, no Google pay, not play certified and so on...
Huawei could have fixed it all by unlocking the bootloader but no..
Well i still have mine and use it as a daily driver since may. Pretty happy to use microG for notifications and Aurora store for apps. I was surprised when Microsoft Outlook synchronised my google contacts with the phone. Also it syncs my google calendar and mail. Also youtube vanced with microG for YouTube premium. So no problems here.
I sometimes miss my markings and lists from google maps but this damned pandemic doesn't make it easy to travel )
Still very happy with mine with GMS sideloaded. The things I don't work are not things I would use anyway so for me it's still the best phone around.
Might be different if I had to reset it for some reason and couldn't reinstall GMS though, but I'm crossing fingers, it's also the most stable phone I've had in a long time.
My Thom Browne Z Fold 2 is still sealed because I love my XS too much and with 100% working GMS.
I am absolutely loving the Mate Xs with GMS fully working, using it alongside my iPhone 11 Pro Max.
I've had a mate Xs for a a few months now, got a original galaxy fold a few days ago and it's a clear downgrade, even with the X's having to side load stuff I would rather keep the Xs
Things I noticed
The galaxy folds crease is just more visible, the galaxy fold doesnt fold flat after some use while my mate Xs still does, the folded screen on the fold is a huge downgrade, the fold has lower screen brightness... So basically to much negatives even considering the position Huawei are in now
I am a fan of Samsung foldables. I've owned them from day one (the zfold 2) and the first Fold since December 2019.
Up until November I had the Zfold2, but a month ago I switched to the Mate XS as soon as I found it at a reasonable decent price and I'm thrilled with it. I find it more beautiful, more seductive, lot more usable as closed... better camera.. everything better than any Fold.
I would make this change again a thousand times because only XS gives me true emotions with the screen is open. About google services..well I don't use banking apps and I arranged very well with alternative apps, indeed I also found something superior, I just miss the PC-smartphone history on Chrome, its bookmarks or apps still unavailable as Waze.

it's nice to read this message actually me too I took the xs because it has more of an effect wow when you unfold it for google I put the gms and freeze the fram and I am satisfied and for google pay bah I pay with my watch.
I would keep it but lack of volte support on Vodafone UK make it unusable in some rural areas.
Anyone still going strong here ?
me always with my mate xs
yup, still keep it run and try to use it everyday
About to reach 2023 and just dropped the Z Fold 4 for my ole good Mate XS. I'm waiting for samsung to make a decent working good looking front screen. My Mate Xs is a phone on it's own without unfolding it so i'm keeping it at least until Fold 5 changes things, if it does.
I'm no longer Google services dependant, most apps i needed are now on Huawei store and others i need i just use an apk.
I still own it,
tonight it updated the security patches to February 2023.
Not bad for a 3 year old phone
Still rules

Either Samsung is ashamed of this model or it has some special hardware issues that they are trying to fix so that it feels like a normal device ). I've never seen such a bad way to treat users of an allmost flaghsip phone. I've read somwhere that the FE's are made of left over parts, and now more than ever it feels like it. I really enjoy OneUi but after my experience with the touch screen issues and the notorious shutter lag, it will be my last Samsung device. They always find a way to disappoint.

Honestly I didn't know.. But now it makes sense. I got my phone and wasnt even 2 months I sent it in for repairs with a charging issue. I'm thinking I will rather switch over Apple or newest S series phone. The FE edition see a lot of people are complaining about it. My father has the s20fe which he got about 6 months prior to me and he is having now an slow charging issue.
I also noticed that the exynos version tends to get very hot and then it lags hard AF. Espicially when im driving.
I own s21fe (256gb 8gb ram snapdragon version) for about half a year without any issues and it still runs butter smooth. There is some cons one of them is battery, but atleast it charges quickly with oem 25w charger it takes an hour to fully charge from about 20%. Also phone gets hot when playing some heavy games like (Apex legends) with maxed out settings. For daily usage like fb, tik tok, internet browsing temparature stays normal.

Yeah, no issues here. Heat is to be expected in this form factor, but I am able to play the most demanding games without issues even when it was the summer. Alien isolation, cod mobile, ps2 emulation, morrowind source port, all working great. even when the phone heats up, performance is top notch, but might be worse in countries with higher temps than southeast europe
