This has been discussed several times. It's always been this way. The S series gets the beta first. Then the Note series will get it approximately a week later, give or take. Be patient. The beta has been out for less than three days.
Do you need to sign up to receive it or is it available to download on the dating site?

On the dating site, you just swipe right on the beta's profile. Then if the beta swipes right on your profile, its a match!
All jokes aside, even if you don't sign up for the beta program, some good souls will rip it from their phone and share it here as an update file. Then all you have to do is flash it to your phone via the stock recovery menu. (knox won't trip)
They actually had a preview of it on YouTube the Samsung channel. If you go to Sammobile you can find it. Reviewer was not very impressed as he was using it. Even stated at one point "you can do this like on iPhone " if remember correctly, it was something to do with home screen. There were other things that he said was a waste of time and easier way then what's been added. I know I know its beta but wasn't impressed so far.

In the case of samsung, you'll never know. My guess is that it's coming but much later, if we're lucky we get it in the first half of next year

We'll still be well within the typical 18 month support/upgrade window, but unfortunately nothing is really a given. Hopefully by then we'll have a slew of ROMs available to ease the pain if we don't receive the Android L release.
Most likely we will get it well AFTER the new wave of tablets that launch with the new OS.

I still remember the pain the last time I was on a Samsung AMOLED tablet.
And the current batch being Exynos based, you can stop dreaming about those roms.
My hope is that we get the Android L. . Isn't the OS name suppose to change? When the release is actually official?
Typically the name changes.
Licorice? Lol
I wouldn't put any hope on Samsung for the updates because as soon as CM releases a rom for this I would say goodbye to the stock rom, and based on that the chance is very very high that the device gets Android L.

Same, mine's up for sale right now, I was planning on getting one of these but I think I might have to go for the GPad GPe or the Tab Pro 8.4 now.
I'm avoiding Exynos SoC's like the plague.

It was the Samsung P6800 iirc. Wonderful screen, but the software updates died way early into it's lifetime. Let's hope history doesn't repeat itself.

It will get L, pretty sure about that. But anything after that is a crapshoot.
And CM rarely appears on Exynos based devices these days - Nexus exempted. Better don't put too much hope on that.

Yeah, mine was the P6800 too, I'm gonna miss it!
At this point I'd be happy with just a debloated rom and overclockable kernel based on the 800 firmware Comparing the Pro thread to this one pretty clear the significant devs already own the Pro model and won't be buying this one.
Not sure how hard it would be to port the Pro 10.1 roms to the S 10.5. I believe same processor and bluetooth. Seems possible on the surface. Maybe we need to go to the Pro thread and start begging the Devs in some PM's?
I am currently downloading the new set OTA. I saw someone else said it's just a security update, but the file I'm currently downloading is 1.6GB. Seem rather large for a security update?

I am downloading that as well. it's been an hour and the download is 1/2 way done. No where in the news does ATT mention either SW update OR a security patch.. Hope I am not disappointed after this..
What's the build no.?
This is it. It's been confirmed on multiple sites. I have yet to download it. I'm still on PE5
If this is a 1.5gig security update I'll take my note to my att store and jam it directly up the sales reps ass!

None yet. But there's nothing else it could plausibly be. It's 1.4GB, the same size as our MM sideloads. Security updates have been under 100MB.

The combination of an OEM known for being slow with updates (Samsung) and a carrier that's even worse, sad to say. A shame, really. The Note5 is an excellent phone all around. In truth AT&T is worse to deal with than the the the manufacturers themselves.

Well that takes all the fun out of things in my opinion. You're gonna watch some knucklehead have at it like a drunk girl at a frat party. Half the fun is gaining the experience hacking away at an ADB shell and figuring things out on your own. Damn kids these days.... Get off my lawn.

You are not understanding, I would all day but my phone is a free phone, I cannot modify the phone being in the Insights program, I cannot side load the program. I have a Nexus 6 for real fun, this phone is just my meh phone compared to the Nexus 6.
Also, the guy I deal with at the Samsung Experience probably knows more about android phones than 95% of the users on here, he is an awesome dude. He actually helped me root my first free Note 3 from the Insights program and was able to keep Samsung from seeing it so I would not lose the phone. Samsung has got smart though with the program and can tell now.

an another big update? YES!!!!!!!!
That build was an accidental push more than several months in the past I believe. So unless Microsoft accidentally opens the flood gates again, you will never see it. There is only one device that I know of was capable of running that test build that was accidentally pushed and it was the Elite X3. All other models that I heard of that were able to accidentally start downloading that update either boot looped or had to back out of the update using a work around Microsoft shared.
I have an Elite X3. Is it possible to install it?
Wait for them to release Surface Phone. Then may be, with registry edits, we will be able to install it on our phones. The Elite X3 just seems to be a test device.

No, it's not going to come. Windows Mobile is only going to receive limited support going forward. What you saw was something that regrettably leaked due to a bug related to flighting.

Seriously? You're one of these people that have no idea what they're actually doing and just hope to find someone else's work and apply it. You will not be able to install it, especially not with "Registry edits".
Also, ignoring the cringy Surface Phone BS, that magic phone wouldn't run a 32-Bit version of Windows anyways, which the Elite x3 does. So good luck with getting that to run.

Ya, well I kinda figured that might be a possibility. Kinda cool to know...
I knew folks who boot looped IDOL 4s phones, Lumia x50 series phones, and older phones too. So I guess a better answer would have been that the Elite X3 survived the update better than others did

If by some rare stroke of immaculate luck Microsoft goes "You know what? Let's make it happen!", contact me and I will re-open
I've been searching everywhere for info on when the next version of Bixby will reach the so and can't find anywhere..... There is an all floating around for the new Bixby voice but when used it kills Bixby and can't reinstall the previous version, at least not reinstall it and having it working fluently again I had to fully reset so......
Anyone seen any info on when it's likely to drop on the s9?

Yes it is over 24 months but you get a new phone every 12 months and then once the latest galaxy device arrives your previous contract gets cancelled and you continue with your new contract for a further 12 months then repeat the process again ... You still get the latest device on the scheme, it's just a more manageable way of purchasing the latest Samsung device ...

Yup. Received a feature update yesterday with camera improvements on my U1. Then got this update this morning. It's just a security patch BUT PLEASE NOTE!!! This moves you up to bootloader v2. You can NOT roll back to previous versions.
This also tells me the Android 10 beta will have a v2 bootloader when it's pushed, otherwise we wouldn't be able to install it.

In my experience, about every two weeks, the FP sensor gets mega wonky and won't recognize my prints. So I have to re-enter them. Then it works like butter, but slowly degrades in performance for a couple weeks until it's wonky again.
I've got 4 updates on my Note 10+ in the 7 weeks I've had it. Never had so many updates on a device in such a short time and I own a OP6T and P2XL
Maybe we'll be getting Android 10 with One UI 2.0 before the new year. It definitely seems companies are finally pushing updates like they should. We pay a lot of money for these devices so it's good to know they are being supported better these days.

They roll out in waves but certain regions seem to get priority over others...
Kinda sucks balls being on the end of the list and waiting 2 months for an update or feature the forums are all talking about a month or 2 in advance....
Even worse when a security threat is found and we are stuck in limbo wondering if we are gonna get an update soon to fix that which has been found...
