N930F Slow 4G-LTE - solved the problem - Note 7 Questions & Answers

I bought the N930F in England - solved the problem

You need to flash the Ukraine CSC somehow (which is XE I think). There's a zip available here but I think it's older than you need. From memory I think you might be able to flash a CSC zip for the S7 (like this one: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817906626617952067) but somebody would need to confirm this as I'm not sure tbh.
Otherwise flashing some of the more recent roms from here or XDAVN may give you the option to change the CSC during flashing.
I'm not sure what you're suggesting about the backups but check if you have custom recovery by turning phone off and holding down power, home, vol-up until custom recovery appears. This has the facility to do all the backups you need. Also might be worth checking if there is already backup there for EFS partition in restore menu.

Thank You! But do you think it is the CSC that can limit my data transfer?

I think it's possible. I'm in the UK and found I had better 4G signal when using the generic BTU CSC than using the UK EVR CSC. If you're using the phone in Ukraine it's definitely worth changing to the correct CSC just make sure the CSC is definitely suitable for the Note 7.
Oh btw I found CSC for your network (Kyivstar) is SEK.

Wow, but how to download it?
Thanks you. Need to try. You do not know how to determine for which country the device was developed can through S / N? (because I'm not sure if this was the device’s native firmware)

solved the problem.
changed the lower board, connectors.

Chinese Galaxy Y, how do I change the operating system?

Hi everyone,
Have just purchased a new Galaxy Y here in China and restored to original factory settings however everything is in Chinese which isn't a problem as I can change the language to English however all the default Google Apps are missing and replaced with Chinese equivalents it seems so I'm unable to use them.
So... how can I restore it to a version of Android something functional for me? I'm on mac os x lion with vmware for any windows apps I need and am computer literate enough to attempt anything like flashing a device / updating a rom but have no idea where to start with this. Have read some docs on Odin but they made little sense at first because I don't quite know what steps I need to take in order to carry out this task. I've found various Roms but these are India, Netherlands, Greece versions, does anyone know of a UK version?
Any pointers would help greatly, thanks in advance!
Update: Just came across http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1465800 so am reading through here however I'm not sure which ROM to go for, the European pack work with sim cards in Asia?

first thing that the initial setup offers after full reset, is to change the language. It's the button on the the right hand side of the screen. if you press the green android, it's too late. then you must navigate to language setup by memory.

I've changed the language but it's a custom Chinese rom as China bans everything google so I need to get it on a normal UK Android setup or something, maybe the European pack from the aforementioned link?
Current versions as follows:
PDA: S5360ZCKK2
PHONE: S5360ZCKK2
CSC: S5360ZHKK2

Thank you for this, am just looking at Docky's stock roms now. Seems like the phone isn't locked to any specific network as accepts both Hong Kong and UK sim cards at the moment. I'm a little confused about setting the CSC and provider/region stuff after flashing it, basically I'm in Asia for the next 10 months and will have various sim cards from different countries and want them all to work. Possible do you think? Or will I have to flash to country specific firmware/csc relative to the sim card I'm inserting?

Well, Im in Asia country too. I tried Docky's Custom ROM which is based on XX which is European firmware and my phone works together with the SIM provider and network. So, the CSC is basically the language supported by your phone (based on my experience). Thus, Im sure you can use European firmware when you are in Asia country

I think the simpliest way to solve this is to update its firmware via samsung kies, besides its the official update you can get and you'll be sure it'll be safe. Ive updated mine through this method and havent tried the ODIN thing. Good luck though

Hi,
I really appreciate all the posting which is done on this site, and it has helped me many times (as I often act as the 'family' technician who can fix things).
But this time, I inherited a bricked Vietnamese Galaxy Young. The issue I have is that event though I installed ODIN in its most recent release, the phone in DOWNLOAD mode is not recognized on the 2 computers I usually use on other Samsung phones.
Is there an Asian-specific driver which needs to be used?
Alas, the phone was backed up using the CWM backup, but it refuses to boot into CWM (just hangs at logo). The only mode it boots into is Downlaod mode. But it need to be recognized correctly before Odin can do anything
Thanks for suggestions

make sure samsung usb drivers are installed - use rear usb ports not front ones and you can try a different usb cable (there is no specific regional driver just a generic samsung usb driver)
once in download mode connect usb cable to pc
push vol up on phone to start connection (wait a 30 secs in case drivers start installing)
open odin 3.07
if it is connected it will say com then a number in a coloured box under com:id on the left hand side

S4 lte goes off just to receive calls (had same problem on S3)

Have a very weird problem, and think it is because of any app...
I use a galaxy tab s4 lte as a phone, it is a fully functional phone oversized... it is great, and im using tablets as phone 3 or 4 years ago... first was galaxy tab s2 lte, then s3, and now s4
S2 worked great... S3 worked great but from march of this year, randomly phone disconects fron network just to receive calls.... sms, 4g and wifi always work, but canr receive calls till i make a call... it is like it disconnects from network... i notice that, because i have (from the times of s2) my phone forwarding calls to my wife's phone when my phone is turned off or im in a plane for example...
But with tab s3, from march, i was in home with my wife and someone that call me ringed directly to my wife phone... as if my phone was turned off...a lot of times saw that... but when i place a call... it start receiving calls again...
Went to tmobile, changed the sim and same problem...
Bought a new S4 lte ($1000) and from the day 1 same problem...
Any help? Im pretty sure it could be any app... but dont know where to start
Factory reset, then install your apps, one at the time until it happens again. It's long process but unless someone came across it it's the only way to find out which app causes it. Perhaps not the only way. Have you tried to replicate it? Reboot your tablet, then ring it to check if it receives it. If not, you can uninstall one app, reboot, call, uninstall , repeat until you find which app it is. It's likely quicker this way but you need to be able to replicate it.
Most likely is the VoLTE is not set up right. And sounds like fallback to 3G for voice is not happening. Try locking it on to 3G and leave it in standby. Check whether inbound calls are coming through when you are camped on 3G.
It is possible to edit your CSC file to get it working properly. but you'll need to know all the correct fields to change and will require you to root, install custom recovery etc.
I haven't thought about that. Try that first. I mean locking to 3G.

Sounds good... but would hate if this was the problem, dont want to root phone... anyway... s3 was working ok till march... one year worked great! Because of that i think it can be a setting or app... there is any way yo change volte? I have seen something like that in any menu but cant find now
Seeing about volte... i remember on s2, and on s3 im not quiete sure, the hd call icon, related to volte, bit now have not that option in phone app settings
Thanks
I don't think the tabs4 t835n makes calls over lte, only 3g as per the specs on the samsung site. Mine always reverts to 3g when making voice calls. It still sounds great but this is the way it makes or receives calls.
Continuous Talk Time (3G WCDMA) (Hours)
Up to 50
That being said, it would be great to find out if it is capable and since there is root now, take the settings from the note9 and push it to the tabs4 T835n.
Have you tried if it receives calls after reboot?

I'm not sure it's possible without root access. You could try extracting the correct csc file for s9 and flash it via ODIN.
If you have root access you can peruse your csc file using this app:

Maybe you can ask your carrier to disable VoLTE for your account?
You will be trying at your own risk when you try to flash alternate CSC, remember you can always flash back to original.
You could also try flashing a complete firmware from a different country, check firmware available on Sammobile, search by your model code. TAB s4

Its me again friend... sorry for bothering you so much!
Look... here is the think...
I have downloaded two full firmwares...
the T835NKOU1ARGH_T835NKOO1ARGH_KOO for the T835N (the only firmware sammobile has for T835N)
the T835CZHU1ARH3_T835CTGY1ARH3_TGY.zip for the T835C (the latest firmware sammobile has for T835N)
When i extracted the CSC from that two firmwares i saw they are differents sizes! T835C is more than double than T835N...
Look at the picture attached...
T835N CSC File
CSC_OMC_KOO_T835NKOO1ARGH_CL13953229_QB19044239_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
47MB
T835C CSC File
CSC_OMC_TGY_T835CTGY1ARH3_CL14074605_QB19357398_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT.tar.md5
112MB
What do you think about this? would be safe to flash a file, from other device with double the size...
It is the only thing i can do (talking about flashing other CSC) because on Sammobile there is only one complete firmware for the T835N... is not like other phones that you can choose country... the only country is korea
Thanks in advance....

I believe if you flash only the HOME_CSC it will preserve your data.
You don't need root
First up though, I would strongly recommend you try to back up your data using Samsung Smartswitch (back up to SD card). And try to back up to Samsung Cloud (not sure if this still is a thing). So you can restore when things go pear shaped
I believe the chances of getting VoLTE working faultlessly on your Korean tab are pretty close to 0. But if that's what you want, I would first try flashing a known working CSC from a device with same android version on YOUR carrier (Note 9 maybe?). This is unlikely to work, I think Samsung has been encrypting CSC files recently. You may need to flash Korean firmware at this point.
Secondly, I'd try flashing an alternate csc_home package from another country. Try the one you've downloaded. If you search T835 on sammobile there are many countries listed. I'd try XSA Australia if the first one doesn't do what you want.
You're on your own my friend.
If all this is getting too hard, just leave your tab locked to 3g in it's current state.

How can I get my CSC and PDA back (T805) ?

If you have no issues with call reception / mobike data, just dont care. I also flashed Hong Kong firmware first (as it was latest by date) and have no issues since then.

Pretty much all of that is stored on the EFS partition. Just restore your EFS backup.

It looks exactly the same on my tablet as well. I don't think it's a big problem if you don't have problems with calls. If you do, try flashing a stock firmware before modifying the EFS - I had such an issue and flashing the latest firmware for my country fixed it. You should also make an EFS backup in case it gets corrupted.

Making the EFS backup is mandatory for Samsung devices right after you get root. Also, PARAM partition is worth being backed up. In my T805 topic, I explicitly put the backup step as a ground requisite for flashing anything.

Newbie need help linking S9 to current country

Hi Have s9 G960F in service provide SW ver TEL/TEL/TEL - i beleive austalian telestra,

Question 1 : is there any way without flashing new FW via odin to get OTA updates? (vpn, australian sim, fake location and etc...)
Question 2: if answer to question 1 is no, where to get stock Israel FW for G960F , and what is the best option for backup and restore

My best option ALWAYS is Smartswitch, either for backup or SW update, if there's a new SW, Smartswitch downloads and installs it right away

First, the csc is wrong, the link you posted is for Israel, not Australia, and second, once you downloaded the file, unzip it: once it's done you'll have 5 files(as you can see in the picture): AP, BL, CP AND 2 CSC home_ (that one won't erase a thing) and the csc (this one will format your phone)

My korean SM-G960N device doesn't connect to H+ or LTE mobile date?

I live in an International region but was sold a Korean device, and it's stuck on E or 3G only, even if I go into Sim Settings or whatever, and select "LTE only" the cellular signal just dies entirely and I can't make or receive calls. when my friend's phone connects to H+ mine only connects to 3G. is there anyway this could be fixed without flashing firmware?
upon further googling, I found out that there is a secret service menu that lets you select bands, but I was unable to access that menu in this ****ty korean piece of **** device.
the menu should look like the attached image.

the Korean model is actually pretty darn decent. What is your aversion to flashing firmware? if you use the HOME_CSC you dont really notice a change as it doesnt factory reset the device and if its the same version of android (pie, oreo etc etc) it doesnt require the device to do anything really

because I couldn't flash an international CSC no matter what I tried, it fails constantly with PIT errors. that why I was wondering if there was any way to change the cellular bands some other way.

you dont need to flash the PIT, as a matter of fact, id not recommend flashing it at all if youre not having internal storage issues.

It doesn't matter if I flashed the PIT or not, it will fail regardless with same "secure check fail (PIT)" error. i've given up at this point.

secure check fail is usually due to custom firmware attempted to be flashed without unlocking your bootloader.
can you get a log of the Odin error? also there are errors that can show on the phone itself that are useful. If youve given up, i get it, but i dont believe youre stuck

So you're telling me that flashing a G960F firmware on a G960N device doesn't require repartitioning? Cuz a few people told me the F CSC and the N CSC have different partitions.

i never recommend re-partitioning unless strictly necessary, and in this case, id say no. Its not needed

so you're sure that there is no difference in the partition between N and F CSCs? cuz the guy who made the SoLdierRblahblah Rom, said that the N CSC partition is smaller than the F one.

im not saying that there isnt a difference between the partitions, but i AM saying that its irrelevant to your issue. What the dev is saying in your linked post is that the CSC that was flashed was too big for the partition it was headed for, which is odd.
Id youre dead set on flashing the N PIT, get the patched version of Odin and you should be able to flash whatever you want as it is patched to ignore errors and just do what its told without a safety net

Sorry to bump an ancient post but I have to ask, did you do it? Is it safe to flash G960F firmware on a G960N device? Will it transform the G960N into a G960F? Did you try using a patched Odin like @Youdoofus suggested? My issue is much smaller, I can't get VoLTE in LTE only mode while it works fine in autoconnecct mode. While the phone randomly switching between E/H+/LTE (crappy reception in my area) is annoying, it's definitely not worth bricking my device so please help.
Also @Youdoofus I downloaded just the CP and BL files for G960F and tried to flash them on my G960N but failed with Secure Check Failed (Bootloader) or Secure Check Failed (Radio) depending on what I flash. Will it work if I do it using the patched Odin or will it brick my phone? Finally, In download mode Secure Download is set to enabled is that bad?
I know I ask too many (stupid?)questions(it's a curse), so please bear with me and thanks in advance!
