It's been a long time.. I shouldn't have left you...
I'm using the sprint SM-N975U Note 10+
What's up with this update?
Has anyone seen any improvements or disappointments from it?
Thanks in advance =]!

I seem to be having problems with the finger print reader since this update. Very inconsistent. So in my opinion I'd wouldn't

Thanks I decided to not use the fingerprint reader because it's not as fast as I'd hoped it was gonna be.
Would you say it actually fixed anything? I'm in agreement with holding out on updating... unless there's a perk I'd find useful enough.
Thanks again!!

Is protecting your device from known vulnerabilities, that are probably posted on every amateur hacking site out there, a useful enough perk for you?

it fixed most annoying bug with not rendering top part of the screen when locked (that black bar nearby front camera). Now some nice apps with notification sign around camera are working correctly

Just got my note 2 & noticed a small discoloration in the volume button as shown in the picture.
Everything is working perfectly
Is it worth the return?

If it doesn't really require lots of hassle, i would ask for a swap.
If I bought it at a store, I would return it.
It will definitely go back first thing in the morning as I just found that the theft side of the screen is waaaay to unresponsive to the spen.
Thank you guys.

Holy crapola that sucks! I was gonna say (before I read all the way down) that I'm so anal with my stuff that I'd return it in a heartbeat. Now that I see the sensitivity issue I'd obviously return it like you did. Hopefully that doesn't ruin your opinion of the Note 2 though, because it's a truly awesome phone! I've had mine for a few weeks now and I don't know what I'd do without it anymore!

Well, I'm a huge fan of the note concept & I know that Samsung's quality control is very very good but sometimes you get a lemon & you have to deal with it.
I guess I'm just fortunate I never have these issues....how did you purchase in store. ...yet its later outside the store you notice something you SHOULD have noticed at time of purchase.............doesn't everyone inspect their device prior to paying and leaving. As far as the s-pen issues people should adjust their settings mines works just fine you have to tweak the sensitivity to your own UNIQUE handwriting style

bipoler: Sometimes new gadget owners fall victim to the so-called Gollum syndrome: their eyes enlarge, their skintone dulls and greys out, and their cognitive functions are diminished. It can last from a few minutes to a few days, and only the worse failures can stop the symptoms quickly, more subtle defects take longer.

Well I got my unit online from timo's website. Once I got the device 18 hours later it was on its way back. The spen issue is not just a less sensitive area... its a deadzone which the device just does not register anything.

I hadn't had the need to till today, and quickly realized that this damn phone can't properly focus on barcodes. Is this just my phone or is this a known issue among HTC Ones?

I had the issue early on. I found that holding the phone further away from the barcode helped a lot.

Does anyone else check the other carrier forums? All the other carriers are receiving their devices but I'm also reading the sudden issues with complaints about the screen quality, battery complaints, issues with the Samsung rebate not going through errors,WiFi issues, slow internet, spen dead spots, and a speaker phone crackle. And all of us are worried about the release date lol. Which of these sudden glitches and flaws would concern you the most?

They could in principle fix only software issues.
Well at least we know what to look for when we get our phones. Im sure paranoia will hit us lol

I agree. We will have a heads up on what to look for. Im coming from a rooted s3 and still fairly happy with it but can't pass up the trade in deal. If its not the right phone ill return it and wait for something better. My note 10.1 2014 edition handles anything my s3 can't. Thanks tethering and unlimited data.
So its been 3 days and I haven't complained about AT&T. Its too long.
I figure if we start this now, we might get this N update on time.

Lol N is most LIKELY NOT coming. I'd be seriously surprised to see N on my Note 5 without a custom ROM.
As much as I like to see AT&T to have Nougat on Note 5, I doubt that it will happen especially they just pushed out MM to Note 5. If we are lucky, it would be around the time Google introduces the O. I will be more happy if I can get a regular security update on Note 5 instead of hoping for the Nougat.

My screen does not record every press. Never misses a beat typing but selecting a thread from a list or a tweet from twitter feed or almost any random thing the first click may not record. I have to do it again. I wish I could increase sensitivity.
Does anyone else have this issue? Any suggestions?
Thanks!
My Verizon note 7 is on the truck for delivery today. I will share my experience after a day or of playing with it. Since it sounds like I can't root it yet I guess I can't tweak it too bad. Do you have a screen protector on yours by chance?

I have the same issue. Typing is on point with every touch but I too am noticing I have to press 2 and three times on things like links and such.

I should have mentioned I had the VZW rep put on a Zagg but it had bubbles and was peeling so I took it off. Problem did not improve. The odd thing is it doesn't affect typing at all. I type fast and no lags nor unrecorded presses. It does happen randomly in any app or screen though. Never when clicking to open an app but clicking on a phone number in missed calls, clicking a link in the browser, clicking to open a tweet or tapatalk thread or basically anything anywhere on the screen. Not a dead spot. The second click always works. It's incredibly annoying when you kind of look for it to happen again and of course it does
MODERATOR - Would this be a legit topic for main thread or strictly a Q AND A thing? It would get more looks in a main Note 7 thread. Thanks

Are you going to keep or exchange? I'm not sure what to do. I love the phone but really hate this issue.
Some claim an update will fix it but I called VZW and Samsung tech support and both said they never heard of any problems at all with Note 7. How can I hope for a fix if they don't know there is a problem?
I've had the same problem. Glad it's not just me.

Why?LOL Misery loves compamy? j/k I was hoping a hundred people would say "Me too!" Then there would be hope of a software fix in ota but since it is very few of us it just means we have lemons....which sucks. I hate returning phones.

I have a case on mine also. I'm not sure about taking it back just because of the time it takes me to set up. I can't see it being a hardware issue because the same point of touch will work perfect on somethings but not on others. Kinda torn on if its worth the setup time to exchange. As far as tech support have they ever admitted to a problem with any phone lol.

Me too. The s7e was too sensitive an dpeople complained so they made ours not sensitive enough. I just wish there were a software fix but no root so no hope. OT but do you know how to get the Twitter app to automatically start on the most recent post? I keep missing the temp blue box that offers to jump to most recent post because of the insensitive screen.
