Sik VL Commodore uleh!
Another bug, Try locking the phone while you have an active call. As soon as you unlock, the screen shuts off and you can't ever unlock it again until the person on the other end hands up.
Just make sure you test it with a phone you can manually hang up on the other end or you might have to wait till the battery goes flat to end the call lol. Not looking forward to my bill this month!

This is my brothers One X. He said if he can't get a stable Senseless vanilla ROM on it, he's replacing it with the Lumia 900 as soon as it hits Vodafone. Too many bugs and slow updates!

Here's one. If you have the phone set to end calls with the off switch and are using BT, when the screen goes blank there's no way to get it back w/o hanging up on the caller.

I wanted to get the One X but after seeing all the bugs my brother is facing with his, I think my next phone is either the Galaxy S 3 or the Next Nexus.

The grass isn't greener. I had one of the first SGS2's and while the bugs were different there were just as many and they were equally severe. The GN's launch was no walk in the park either. Sadly, we're now the last step in the testing process for all the manufacturers. The best bet is to wait two months from launch so that the phone can finally be "finished."
well there is a CM9 version up and he fixed data now, so it's more or less complete and development is fast.
And today htc released kernel source.

In the past 5 months I've used the Nexus S, Nokia N9, Sensation XE, iPhone 4s and now the GNex and honestly I love it the most! I was stuck on 4.0.1 with Vodafone Australia but I flashed the yakju build right away and received all the updates as soon as they were announced.

By accident?

Just out of interest.
Ddoes it do this with the standard browser?
You are using the ICS+ from the market which is basically generic ICS.
Ha, I knew I wasn't crazy. Had it happen to me once already.

My mistake, didn't realize you could enable the quick controls in the standard browser like ICS+
So that's why I had that lock screen popup a while ago

I bought this phone a few months ago and knew ahead of time the camera had previous issues. Thing is, it appears to be both hardware AND software related. The front camera works for face unlock in certain roms. The camera app on any rom results in it opening but when pressing anything in the camera I get a freeze and a force close. Same goes for any app that tries to use the led flash. Has anyone had something similar to this issue? Im curious what the cause is, also, has anyone tried physically swapping the part out and can give any tips?

Seems to be a hardware issue. Have you tried checking the connection on the motherboard? I have never had issues with software unless I forgot to check hardware connections.

Yeah I just ordered a tool kit with the screws required. Gonna take a look at it and hopefully If it works I can turn quite a profit. I bought this phone for 40 dollars.

Took the phone apart and checked the camera. I replugged it back in and it still did not work. Order a new camera for 10 dollars on ebay and will try again.

If that doesn't work, you should do a one click restore to stock. That could possibly fix it.

Update : Ordered a new camera, came about 10 minutes ago in the mail. I replaced it and everything is working fine. For future reference. I'd the back camera does not work, neither will the flash. My flash did not work until I replaced the faulty camera.

Just got the ATT Galaxy Note 8.0 and have a slight issue with the screen freezing momentarily
while trying to scroll.
About once an hour or so I will try to scroll the screen with my finger and it wont move.
Lifting my finger and placing it back on the screen will get scrolling again. This has happened 3-4 times in the
browser and market so far.
Device is not rooted.
Is this normal ?
I only got the device on 6-24-2013 so I can exchange it if I need to.
Thanks
Same here and I have the latest firmware as well.
Really annoying.

Glad to know I'm not the only one having this issue. I'm assuming it can be fixed with a software update.... at least I hope so
Same here, and yeah, glad to know this is a feature, not an issue
Same problem on the wi-fi model I just purchased. Also glad to know it's not just me lol.
+1, not that this does any good... For me, it doesn't even have to be scrolling. I could be on the launcher and this still happens.

Same for me. My version is the wifi version. I didn't have this problem until the latest firmware update. I started a thread a few days ago.
It is good to know that this is a pervasive issue. I hope it gets fixed quickly.

I exchaged mine out just in case, new one still has the same issue.
Same problem here, although I resolved mine by taking a couple of news app widgets of a home screen. Was having a few redraw problems cured that as well
I assume it's issues with cloud agent or the s-pen detection.

I can definitely say that the new update did not make any difference. I hope that samsung will fix this problem soon.

Seems to be just the capacitive input that is freezing. When i use the s,pen it doesn't seem to freeze at all. I tried scrolling with my finger and as soon as it freezes switched to the pen and it worked ok so I think it's the capacitive part of the screen that has the problem.

Yesterday I noticed my Haptic feedback wasn't working. I tried ticking every setting and seeing if I could find what turned it off. Doesn't work when I receive a text, a call, or even when the alarm goes off. So I downloaded a vibrator app and it doesn't work. Suggestions? Halp?

Hmm so it's not a kernel issue then. Even when I boot up the phone there's no vibration that usually indicates the boot up. Even in TWRP I don't get any feedback when selecting options. Faulty motor?

Checked it out and it's been off this whole time. Even in Recovery Mode it doesn't vibrate as normally. Will try installing a new rom today.

I got my device from an At&t authorized seller about a month or so ago. The feedback occasionally does come back for a few seconds before dying off again. Very odd. I haven't tried flashing a new rom but I did a factory reset yielding no results.
Guess I'm gonna need to take the HTC advantage.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Did you ever flash a new Rom?
No I just made a back up and noticed it wasn't working on twrp.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
Hmm I'll try flashing another ROM today and if that doesn't work, I'll have to unroot, which is totes lame.
I installed PA Alpha 1 with Furance OC kernel. Bought the Faux Clock app so I can **** with the kernel settings and no go. Looks like I gotta look into making my device look completely stock and get it sent into HTC..

LOL just that unrooting seems like a bit of a tedious process. And I don't really have access to a windows pc, since the program is a windows one. Oh well, I'm just wondering if this is a common occurrence amongst other M8 owners or just happenstance.
Well. You can just take it to the warranty department. My only thing I think they would trip about is the red text screen. I'm gonna s off and fix that tomorrow.
Sent from my One M8 using Tapatalk
My M8 hasn't had this issue...
However, the LG G2 I had a few months back did. It worked great one day, and had no vibration the next.
I wonder if smartphone companies are just buying cheap vibration motors nowadays to save cost, and the cheap motors blow out easy or defect often.

Thanks I decided to not use the fingerprint reader because it's not as fast as I'd hoped it was gonna be.
Would you say it actually fixed anything? I'm in agreement with holding out on updating... unless there's a perk I'd find useful enough.

it fixed most annoying bug with not rendering top part of the screen when locked (that black bar nearby front camera). Now some nice apps with notification sign around camera are working correctly
