You should root with magisk. It is up to date, and it is made to support these newer versions of android. Reboot to twrp by holding power, home, and volume up simultaneously. You might need to reflash hades.

FYI - To power off you need to hold power & vol- until it turns off (20-30 seconds), not just the power button.
Follow the advice from @SnowFuhrer and let us know how you get on

thank you guys, I let phone discharge but now I made it work, thanks to you guys

Well that's one of the perks of flashing a 3.xx.xxx.x ROM on 1.xx.xxx.x(4.4.2) firmware. You get to have extremely long boot up times and you won't have a proper working radio which leaves you with no wifi, data, gps, bluetooth...
Your OTA probably didn't work because of a custom recovery, not because it was rooted. Root does NOT prevent OTA updates from installing, though you might lose root access after the OTA.
If you're stuck at Boot screen hold Volume UP + Power button for 10seconds, as soon as the screen goes black press volume Down + Power button to enter into Bootloader.
Flash a custom recovery like TWRP. Go into recovery and restore a nandroid backup for your device.
first thx alot for replaying
i already got TWRP installed but the screen is stock on boot screen but still manage on the back ground to load my current rom as i'm hearing the log in sound of the rom :S
so i tried to power it off without seeing by holding the power key the power option pop up and touching random parts of the screen but i failed
i even waited for the battery to empty and factory reset the phone with no use
is these is any way even by adb to power off my phone
plzzz help
thx again for replaying

By the look of things you are booted in OS but have no screen, hence why try and hold power button in and randomly tap to shut off?
I told you already to Hold Volume UP + Power button for about 10seconds and then hold volume down + power to enter bootloader.
You can of course also just plug it in and try to reboot to bootloader using adb, if you have USB debugging enabled. adb reboot bootloader
As already said just hold power and volume up for around 12 seconds then immediately press and hold power and volume down. This will always get you into the boot loader.
However if adb is working just use the command above. Reflash the original boot.img and you should be good.

Use that to get back to the stock rom for your phone. Then after installing the right one, get the OTA

Never leave your device with an empty battery. In any circumstances.
Because you might not be able to charge it. Recover the device while you have some power on your battery.
Remember, this is a unibody device. It's not so easy to pull out the battery.

Can't turn off M8

I recently wiped the phone from TWRP.
Now it's stuck on the white HTC logo and I can't turn off the phone, not even by holding down the power button for a few minutes!
Any ideas what I can do?
Hold volume up and power and it'll reboot
Thanks for the help! Perfect!!

I had just updated my M8 to marshmallow yesterday, and it was working fine last night, then the whole of today it was stuck on an "android is starting screen", and I couldn't turn it off or on. Thank you sooo much!
Hi,
I have the same problem. I had HTC One M8 AT&T Unlocked International Version and I unlocked the bootloader and root it. Everything was fine until I installed Viper/Venom ROM. Before installing that ROM I created a backup of the previous ROM. I didn't check on Data and I think that on the error is on that step.
Anyway I installed Viper / Venom ROM (Marshmallow 6.0.1) and wasn't able to connect to WiFi. So I decided to go back to my original ROM (Kitkat 4.4.2).
Now the HTC is in a boot loop, flickering but I'm not able to select and action. I can hold the volume up and the power button and restart the phone. But I don't know if I can get into bootloader. My best scenario is to wait until the battery runs out of energy and the smartphone turns off. I will connect the charger for some minutes and then I will turn on the device with Volume Down and Power in order to get into the bootloader. If I can't get into the bootloader I will be in a big problem.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance,

That is just user data, you should be able to restore the previous ROM as long as you backed up system and boot. But it's also possible that the backup is just no good, causing it to be stuck with no OS (it happens).

You can. Do the button combo to reboot (vol up + power), once the screen goes dark to reboot, let go of the buttons, and just hold vol down, and don't let go, until you see bootloader screen. If this doesn't work, you just got the timing wrong, either you started pressing vol down too late, or let go too early. Just repeat the sequence until you get it right.

[Q] OnePlus 3 won't turn on anyone know a fix?

Nothing happens. Phone won't turn on. Can't get onto fastboot or recovery. Nothing anyone know a fix or am I just screwed?
press and hold the power down for more than 20 seconds (say 30 seconds), you should see it turning on.
The same thing happened to me after flashing a CM 14 based ROM using official TWRP and later attempting to go into recovery! I was sh*t scared too.

hi there i also flashed cm 14 and i thought i should factory reset and i done the phone was not booting in recovery nor phone i will try ur idea any more information do uhave
Just boot into fastboot and then flash the modified twrp (v 3.0.2-22). That's it. This twrp works for all kind of ROMs so no need to change twrp again.
Btw, I moved back to FreedomOS as the camera quality is still not great on other ROMs.

[Q] P2a42 keeps stuck on first bootlogo

My dear P2a42 keeps stock on the first boot-logo :crying:
I've already tries to recover boot and system with TWRP 3.0.3 and TWRP 3.0.3-3. Also tried to wipe the whole phone and reinstall the ROM (the modded newest stock ROM), this also didn't work.
Strange problem IMHO... What's the best way to completely reset the phone to stock, flashing it with fastboot?? Or is there a possible other solution?
Thanks in advance :good:
Have a nice day y'all.

Actually in video it's fastboot method only i didn't read the article of yours properly.
Sent from my Lenovo P2 using Tapatalk
Lenovo p2a42 stuck on logo
Lenovo P2 is stuck in a boot loop.
I can't enter the recovery menu. If I press Volume up and power, it tries to start normally. If I press Volume Down and Up and Power, Phone enters "Bootmode is 'recovery'". After 14 seconds, it tries to restart in the normal startup.
If I press power + Volume Down, it enters a menu to swich between "Start", "Barcodes" and "Power Off". it shows dthe device parameters like serial number, storage, ram and the date of the installed software.
What can I do?
The only fix to get back into TWRP,
when the phone reboots, in the short moment of a blank screen you need to press Volume Up + Power.
The only catch is you have to press the Volume Up for a very short time.
It took me many attemps untill i got back into TWRP !!
Do not wipe anything or the phone boots again and you might get stuck in the same shizzle.
So install your favorite Rom & GApps and hopelly all works fine again.

Can't flash custom recovery

Hey everyone. I'm a novice at this, but I've gotten tired of Xiamoi's updates and decided to try Pixel Experience I downloaded the latest version of TWRP and flashed it per the instructions on the website. I know that unless I boot straight into it, it'll be overwritten by the stock recovery, but that doesn't seem to be possible. Both power + volume up, and adb fastboot reboot recovery just take me into a boot loop until I hard reset. And then of course, the stock recovery is back.
I tried Orange Fox, and various other versions of TWRP, and the same thing happened. This phone really does not want to boot into a custom recovery.
This has been a difficult question to google as everyone just gives obvious solutions like "reboot straight into recovery!!" I'm hoping someone else has experience with this.

If you install PE successfully it won't overwrite your current recovery. As far as I know only stock MIUI removes custom recovery when it boots into system.
To boot into TWRP with the phone off press and hold volume up + power button. When the Redmi logo appears release only the power button (keep volume up pressed). When the TWRP logo appears you can release the volume up button.
Ignore the root part if you don't want it.

I don't have PE yet, I'm still on stock MIUI. I'd like to switch to PE but I can't get into TWRP or any other custom recovery.
Also I have tried this several times-- as stated in the post, volume up + power just sends me into a bootloop, and the next time I restart, MIUI is able to remove the custom recovery.

Sorry, I mistook your post for the same couple suggestions I'd been given, and was way too quick to write it off. Using the downloads in the video description worked like a charm. Thank you so much!
