Hello!
My Galaxy Watch 810 started count floors very bad and I returned it for repairing in cerificated service center.
There motherboard + back cover were replaced with new. I have a document about replacing.
When I took it back, I noticed that MAC address of Wifi and Bluetooth has not been changed (and serial number was not changed too).
So question: It is possible to replace motherboard and make MAC addresses sames as on old motheboard?
Maybe they replaced only back cover?
If so, how does they doing that? With programmator or with special/service software flashing?

Hello Gang,
My local official carrier and authorized Samsung repair center, upon replacing my broken screen, broke off a small squared chip on the bottom right hand corner of the motherboard. I didnt get suspicious when 3 hours after dropping off the phone, they tell me that it's not a i9300 so they cant replace the screen. Upon taking it to a known dealer and tech I used in the past, they call me and show me what happened. He's not sure what the chip does and cannot find any schematics on the i747 board. So if someone has one, please help.
Thanks,
Paul
Recently I bricked my Desire Z with wrong hboot. I had no choice but to get it to a repairman.. He said he used RiffBox. That was the only way to do it. When I got the phone back, vibration didn't work at all... and after a while I noticed that few sensors (linear g... orientation...) work like crazy, after a while they don't work at all... One more thing I noticed, comparing with my original box, my imei is OK but serial number and MAC address are different than before giving it to repairman... He said he didn't change any of hardware, but he looks very suspicious. Is it possible when using RiffBox to change MAC and serial number? Anybody have an idea how to fix sensors?
Thank you in advance.
Sensors.
Maybe if someone knew if the main reason for faulty sensors could be a ribbon cable? Where are the sensors located at all?
It is possible the repair guy did something shady, but hard to say for sure.
The vibrator is part of sdcard tray and that connects direct to the logic board, the other sensors would be effected by the main flex cable so there really isn't one cable that would cause your issue
The mac address and imei are located in the efs partitions but I'm not 100% on the serial numbers location. Yes it is possible to change this using JTAG but I don't think it would be necessary nor do I think he would bother to
Unless all he did was swap logic boards and to make all look legit he matched the imei, not sure of a reason to do all this though
I assumed everything worked prior just fine? Does the phone look the same? (Same scratches etc?) Is there a void sticker on one of the three screws in back? You willing to open up your phone and look around to see if anything is suspicious? (There should be tape in certain places that can often give signs of tampering
As for a fix, it all depends on the cause, which is hard to determine as of now

Thank you for very useful infos, demkantor.
Phone looks the same outside. Since I knew that JTAG would be done, before I brought it to servicing i opened the phone myself and marked every piece of hardware with the markings only noticeable by me... It looks like the same PCB. I only did that with the board under the keyboard and didn't touch the display part... I guess he did what he said he would but screwed flex cable... It was important to me to know if the issue could be because the flex cable so I can replace it. Are you sure that could be the issue? All the sensors seem to be soldered on the main board.
As for the vibration issue, the memory card is in order so it must be that the motor is dead. I already ordered that part.
To sum this up, you suggest that new flex cable should fix my sensor problem?
I appreciate the help.
A while ago I broke the screen on my Nexus 7 LET, I ordered a new screen on ebay and installed it and all was good, except for Wi-Fi. During the repair I damaged on of the cables (the one one the left, looking from the back, as per the attached photo) I tried replacing the wire, but it didn't work (I didn't really expect it to) then I tried swapping it with the similar one on the right. Success! I had Wi-Fi back.
I think the cable I cannibalised was probably for the GPS, given that's no longer working.
I've found this site http://www.asusparts.eu/en/partfinder/Asus/Pad/Nexus/ME571KL (Nexus 7C 2013)#Cable but there are no pictures so I work out which one to get. Is there a repair manual? Or a better parts list? Or even an alternate supplier?
Alternatively if someone has a dead (water damaged?) LTE version I could cannibalise for parts I might be interested in buying it, my back cover was badly cracked in the drop, when I broke the screen.
Yesterday i replaced battery in amazon fire phone bought from amazon USA. after replacing and charging wifi signal disappeared. when placed fire phone on the modem it start picking up wifi signal. Can anyone tell me what i did wrong.. I am assured that i didnt touch any part of the cell phone inside.just smoothly removed battery and closed cover.Anyone give me suggestion...
Thanks in advance
You might have loosened the antenna connectors when replacing the battery. They mentioned that in the following link.

Helpful website. but I couldn't find where is the antenna which I loosened it...need disparate help..
Same Issue Please Help!
I replaced the battery, and just after, discovered the phone would only pick up 5GHz WiFi bands when it was extremely close to their sources.
I followed that link, opened up the phone, checked those connections(which turned out to be perfectly fine) and broke something else...a pin right above the WiFi connection and just below the big camera. The one that came off was in the middle.
What do these pins do, and how do I fix them? Also, what is wrong with my WiFi antenna?!?

I bought a supposedly new HTC 10 off ebay a few months ago, and just realized on a recent trip that location service is using only wi-fi & cell. Once I am out of signal range, I get no location data, and GPS not working.
The phone came S-OFF and running WWE software, which I have changed to US unlocked using RUU, currently running 2.51.617.32, baseband [email protected]_76.02_F.
From a previous contact with HTC, they told me the serial number is that of a Sprint phone. I am assuming that this is a refurb of some kind.
I have installed GPS Status and tools, and the app can see the satellites, but cannot get a fix. Hardware check says that the sensor is OK. I have cleared AGPS and that made no difference.
Changing data from 3G to LTE to Auto, or on & off (per a couple threads at xda) made no difference.
I am unsure what to do next. Phone works well otherwise. Would flashing a Sprint radio help? perhaps a different kernel?
Any advice appreciated. TIA.
I had this issue after a battery replacement. Essentially this thread worked for me. Once the HTC 10 was opened up and the rear casing removed, there's a v. small copper prong located next to the headphone socket and it needed a bit of careful prying so that it could make contact with the back plate of the phone once rehoused.
So it could be that your new phone off ebay is a refurb and has been previously opened?
I would try a Sprint ROM before opening it.

finally found someone with some 10 repair experience haha. I just noticed my GPS won't lock, assuming it's due to screen/battery repair. I have over 5yrs phone repair experience, so salty i am in this spot.... But I have been many times with HTC repairs, and eventually figure out hte querk. Any other insights? I opened it up yesterday and couldn't get a lock still even without back frame shell on. I then noticed the top pin above the headphone jack was depressed most likely due to prying when opening, i carefully bent up and it didn't break, now making connection with back cover frame but still no gps lock.... also try reconnection of the top daughter board flex where hard gps chip lives....
Update: Twas the pin at top, and flashing RUU that got me up and running GPS again! woohoo!
Thanks by the help!
The last week I change the battery and I lost the GPS signal. After reopen the phone, the GPS pin it was in bad position. After move the pin, the GPS it is working again!
