hi all,
i broke my screen the second time, the first time i used strong glue thats used in construction because i had nothing else avaliable.
when removing the screen again the foil you see on the picture ripped off partially.
now my question: is this critical? what purpose does the foil have?

It is a kind of insulator and also a shock absorber for certain delicate components, to prevent them from having a more normal displacement.
What critical is? You only know when the time passes, now you won´t notice a substantial difference yet.

eBay sells housing for variations of Uni.
From your photo it's not the pivot chassis you need, but rather a bottom housing, much easier to find too.
Hi
enigma1nz is spot on, it would be very hard to break the pivot part coz its made of metal. However the case is not so tough. They are easy enough to replace if you take your time and follow the instructions on the WiKi somewhere. They do also superglue very well also.

So here's the deal.
One day, I dropped my defy "accidentally" inside a water closet. I put it up high in the shelves and suddenly it drops down to the closet.
now the left part of the screen is unable to be touched anymore. as could be seen in the screenshot below. the green areas are the ones that are broken

as this is a surely hardware problem, are there any other solutions than:
a. buy a new LCD screen (hard to find)
b. buy a new phone
thanks for the help guys
bump..........
Sorry
Since it is a hardware problem, I can't think of any other solution besides purchasing another LCD/phone. I'm sorry.
That said, I have put my defy underwater many times. The touch screen stop working when wet, but I had no issues with it once it dried. Maybe the problem was from the impact?
So I had my lg g3 started flickering suddenly, I didn't know what to do. this issue: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9SqLlDOU1E
After a little research I found this solution: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y12XCmAYTbw
I tried it and it worked fine for now(a week passed).
but since i have done the paper thing, my wifi signal is very low, even when my router I very close to me.
Any knows how to fix it? maybe change the placment of the paper?
Thanks.
Put a piece of folded paper between processor and body. Make sure paper push the processor and the size of folded paper nearly same as processor, so pressure on full processor not only at one point and put a small piece of folded paper on camera connector. May be it will solve your problem. Good Luck [emoji106]

Since I don't have a warranty anymore (small crack on screen) and the phone had some hits on corners, thought why not peal the paint off? And voila. Say hello to my chrome-ish friend
Not an easy task...it is a wax on wax off mr Miyagi task.

Nice! How did you do it?
U
Sandpaper and nail sandpaper. And a lot of scrubbing. Need to cover camera and flash and screen. Pay attention to the buttons. Lost some of the power button thickness.
You can put the HTC Logo again with a CO2 laser
What about the antennas

I didn't covered them. They turned up very good.
Now get something like Semi-Chrome polish and remove the surface scratches. The stuff is designed for firearms and stainless steel things like motorcycle exhausts and so forth. It will really smooth that up nice(er).
And of course, cover the screens and camera again.
Looks good though.
Hello,
I don't know if it was always like that or if I already got dirt into my earpiece.
To me it looks like the right two thirds of the grid of the earpiece are blocked (filled with something, maybe dirt). I will try to upload am image tomorrow.
Is it the same for you? I tried to get out or with a vacuum cleaner but it didn't change.
You can see what I mean on this picture

lol, never paid Attention to it. But you are right, I have EXACTLY the same right two thirds of the grid "blocked" .. Seems to be standard? Haven't found any issues with it so far..
That's as intended, the right two thirds are just cosmetic to make it look symmetrical, the speaker hole is only in the left third.
Hi there, I have too "dirt into my earpiece". Is it so on purpose or not?
Me too
I contacted my seller and he say me "it's normal". It´s no dirt but some like protective foil against dirt / dust.
