Since I don't have a warranty anymore (small crack on screen) and the phone had some hits on corners, thought why not peal the paint off? And voila. Say hello to my chrome-ish friend
Not an easy task...it is a wax on wax off mr Miyagi task.

Nice! How did you do it?
U
Sandpaper and nail sandpaper. And a lot of scrubbing. Need to cover camera and flash and screen. Pay attention to the buttons. Lost some of the power button thickness.
You can put the HTC Logo again with a CO2 laser
What about the antennas

I didn't covered them. They turned up very good.
Now get something like Semi-Chrome polish and remove the surface scratches. The stuff is designed for firearms and stainless steel things like motorcycle exhausts and so forth. It will really smooth that up nice(er).
And of course, cover the screens and camera again.
Looks good though.

I got tired of looking at endless junk and not finding anything suitable for hard use. Nothing to protect the device in REAL use. I went to my local custom Kydex maker and he whipped this thing up for me in about 30 minutes. Note the back lip, as the device sits in the case with the screen to the body. The kydex protects the entire screen. If you are unfamiliar with Kydex, it is a hard moldable plastic. The gNote has a Nillkin skin on it, but the case will hold about any thin skin I decide to put on it.

Hey, how'd THAT get in here???
awsome!!!
i have seen it on a lot of blogs, any i idea where it can be found?
n oh, that pouch/clip is good too
The flaw being that they look crap?
Really though. I'm an 80s kid and those are probably the worst looking cases I have ever seen. They look like something they'd try to sell you while visiting Thailand.
Sent from my One+
For those that are not willing to waste ~ 3 minutes listening to which cases he bought where and how cool they look: they simply don't fit properly.
Also, he forgot to mention that they look hideous but that's been amply covered by xanaxdroid and Mr Woolf
...
$14!
The TPU ones for the OPO are pretty rubbish I paid £99p for a grey one and it has the exact same issue.
The volume rocker and power button on this phone are so slim that you should only pick up cases with nothing to get in the way of them, or cases with Volume and Power button bits moulded in...
As anything designed like this one with the little plastic bits just get in the way..

How many of you use those bulky cases?
do you want to appreciate the design work the guys at htc have made?
but still want your own style?
how many of you have tried wrap skins on your one.

Post your HTC one with a custom skin
No offense, but you are talking about apreciating Htc One style, and you post picture of htc one wrapped in skin (Ok, back maybe, but the front speakers are disgusting imho).
And then this cheapo chinese bumper.
My advice: remove that bumper, it won't save you from any bumps, nor screen cracking. Neither it will protect your phone from scratches. As I have seen inside of this case, it may scratch your phone even more. Remove front facing speaker stickers and enjoy and appreciate design of your phone.
PS: If you are doing all of this to protect your phone and for "resale value", check online, how much does used m7 cost. In one more year, it won't have "any" value.
Well... i don't like most of the backcovers, except the one of Nexus5. So i started to think about, how to create my own LG-G4 Backcover.
I went to the local skate shop, where i buyed a piece of skate tape, and here is what i did:

It takes some time to get pleasent in your hand, though.
But it will bring some really cool advantages:
It will stick almost everywhere (car seat, sofa, bed, pocket, ...)
Pickpockets will have no chance.
You will be forced, to lay down your phone gently, in case of scratches on your table
Always a cornea rasp with you. :highfive:
diy-Tips:
Cut an oversized piece for your back cover.
Don't forget the speaker hole in case it's a grid, and on the back side (e.g. LG G4), and cut this first.
Point in your cutted out speaker hole first, then the rest.
Use a hair-dryer to tie the tape over edges.
Cut off overhangs, camera, led, ...
Cheers

$30 on Amazon.
Fits well and allot thinner than the Otterbox. Aslo it covers the whole front where the fingerprint reader is.

Bought the transparent one for my golden Razr 2019.
Fits and holds perfectely to the phone. It gives an almost perfect protection to the phone, only the back of the hinge is left unprotected when the phone is closed (beside applying a thin plastic protecting layer, nothing else really possible here).
Only bad thing is the shipping cost to europe: almost $ 20.- for a very long shipping of a little more than 2 weeks... So almost $ 50.- for this cover, huu! But certainly the best you can find. Its some kind of hard silicon/TPU, a little soft but not too much, so that it can hold tight to the sides of the phone, and the lower part also covers the front, only leaving the fingerprint reader uncovered. Hopefully it won't get yellow with the time.
Beautiful! really elegant, thanks for sharing
