eBay sells housing for variations of Uni.
From your photo it's not the pivot chassis you need, but rather a bottom housing, much easier to find too.
Hi
enigma1nz is spot on, it would be very hard to break the pivot part coz its made of metal. However the case is not so tough. They are easy enough to replace if you take your time and follow the instructions on the WiKi somewhere. They do also superglue very well also.

ok, first off all, i've been a naughty boy.
when my screen broke (read digitizer) i've opened my mda compact.
nothing new to me, because i opened all my phones to clean them once in a while.
the reason i'm doing that is because i'm working with steel, so bits of steel always stick to the magnets in the phone, the speaker, and mic.
when i opened my mda, i had to loosen the connector wich goes to my display.
and thats where all went wrong.
i was used in pulling the black thingies, in the direction of the cables, but this one i had to lift UP instead of pulling it.
you all know what happend after i pulled.(for those who dont. I BROKE THE BLACK THINGIE)
but the digitizer is already on its way from hongkong, coz it was only 15 euro's (excl transport) instead of the 189 euro's they would let me pay in holland for a complete lcd replacement.
now i'm desperatly seeking the connector wich is highlighted in the next foto.

if anybody knows how it's named, or have a link were i can buy them, it would be much appreciated
i know there must be a few fakes of these around.. But I ordered a Martin Fields protector from Morpeth Mobiles recently.. the screen protector looks okay but has sharp edges, but the main thing that makes me think these are counterfeit is this ....
and no, this isnt a dodgy scan.. the inlay is actually printed like this, on paper.
hmmm morpeth mobiles pulling a fast one you think?

Email martin field with photo's i did the same after purchasing one from ebay amd they confirmed it was genuine? give them a try, mine was just printed on paper but wasnt as bad as yours by the looks of it.
Next time u can buy directly from them. It takes a few more days extra as they ship from southeast.
I am a big fan of them
Well i had this case for about 3 months now so i figured i would give you guys a heads up. I am very dissappionted. 3 of the corner tabs have broken off that hold the outer part of the case to the phone. I have not dropped this phone at all. I guess from taking the outer case on and off it wore the tabs out and from flexing they have broken off.

I'd contact Seidio and send them photos. They might try to replace it but, I can't say.
My general impression with seido is that their stuff is overpriced junk.

I did and even though i am within 180 days from the original purchase...i will not be filling out a form for another case. When you recieve another one it does not extend your warrenty. I see this happening all ovwer again if i recieve another. So im not not going to buy any more sedio products. Its not worth my time.
Ok I have tried to find the product that is appealing to me but still haven't found what I'm looking for. I want an housing that's made of the same or close metal as the nexus one. I don't like the plastic feel and thought maybe someone has something similar. Anyone see anything like the nexus one housing metal?

Heres a pic of the housing metal im looking for to get that works on a galaxy nexus for those who never had one to compare too! Thanks!
no version of the Galaxy Nexus came with a Metal housing. All the antenna's are mounted to the "plastic housing and would not function well if the plastic housing was metal. The Nexus 1 had some plastic that the antenna's could transmit thru.
What you are asking for would take nearly a ground up re engineering of the hardware. I just don't see any company offering such a product, Dare to dream I guess. Next time, buy a metal phone if you want a metal phone.
Hey forums!
I need your help figuring out some problem I ran into.
A friend of mine broke his GT-I9100 screen, cracked it. He did order a new one through Amazon
He asked me to replace it for him. So when I dissasemble the phone, I find out, the mainboard does not fit into the new full display replacement.
So why do this vary? shouldn't it be the same model? the phone is GT-I9100 it should fit perfectly, right?
I will add pictures so you can check them: (in the first picture, the replacement is the left side one), notice how the scre holes do not match:

This is the phone's mainboard:
And this is the mainboard that should fit in the replacement screen:
there may be board revisions which explains the difference, i have seen sellers online telling potential buyers to check their version number on the boards before buying so i would think that yours may be different, differences in boards could mean component or mounting holes have moved so case has to be changed to fit new board as well.
