Sim tray - Honor Play Accessories

Morning folks
Need some advice recently sent my phone back under warranty to fonefix in Ireland. Got the phone yesterday fully working but they have not sent the sim tray back.
Been looking online (mainly amazon so I can use prime) and been unable to see a replacement, can you point me in the right direction
Thanks alot lee

Get back onto them Lee and ask for it and if not a replacement one, no need for you to be out of pocket for their mistake

Like redultra82 said first ask them for a replacement, but if they don't have it I've seen some on aliexpress. It'll take long but it's really the only place they probably have it.

That's the same place I seen them and then you have the mess as I THINK there is other sim trays that might fit
Knowing the repair centre (i had issues with them) they deserve to be made replace it, they should have parts from phones they couldn't fix etc

[Q] Got my replacement EVO today

This is more of a general thing but I do have a couple questions in here so I posted in the Q&A
My USB port broke off the motherboard so I filed a claim with Asurion. My new phone arrived today and I believe it is a bran spankin' new one. It came in a factory box with the manual, all the accessories and the factory sticker on the screen with both the phone and battery sealed in factory bags. I've never gotten a insurance replacement before, is this normal or did I get a new one? It is a 004 model with an Epson screen. Rooted using Unrevoked (much easier than my launch day root using toast's method). I flashed CM7, did a nandroid of my old phone minus the WiMax and restored it onto the new one, works perfectly. Everything I've read about returning the old phone says just to put the phone in the bag. I'm wondering if anyone knows if I'm supposed to return the SD card and/or battery as well?

I have done alot of returns on previous phones and they tell u to keep all accesories( sd card, headphones etc..), they just want the phone. I have kept the battery a few times also and have never heard anything about it, once i was even told by a rep to not send the battery cuz it can mess up the phone especaily if its in the phone during shipping.
If it was in the original box with all the accessories, its likely you got a new one. There are two ways to check. A refurb will have a small white sticker on the back that shows the date which it was refurbished. And also, pull up the dialer, and hit ##786#, scroll down to Refurbished Status. If there is a date there, then it's a refurb. If it says N/A, then its new.
And no, generally you only need to send back the phone, no battery no sd card, no charger. Unless they told you to do so.

I looked for any stickers or anything on it and there weren't any. A while back I bought a refurb Sansa Fuze and it said refurbished right on the back so that was the first thing I looked for. Thanks for the code, I currently have CM7 running but I might flash back to Sense and check it out to see what it says.
Obviously I was really hoping for a new one and I couldn't be happier. I pre-ordered the 3D a couple days ago. Now, if I decide to sell this one I can sell it as only a week or 2 old, maybe get a few extra bucks for it.
Another question though, do you think I should even bother un-rooting the old one before sending it back?

Same thing here. I have returned or went through insurance probably 4-5 times. Even going back to when I had the (gasp) Blackberry. I never returned batteries or sd cards and never heard anything or gotten charged. And like the poster I quoted, I have also been told not to ship any thing but the phone itself before.

[Q] Insurance Claim Replacement Phone

It came in the mail today. It came with 2.3.3 pre-installed. It seems from searching on here that no one knows for certain if there will be a root method for this. What I've gathered from the minimal time I have spent searching on here today is I might not ever be able to root this thing. Best case is that someday maybe the devs might get a root method figured out, but no one knows if or when that will happen.
My old phone slipped out of my pocket and took a spill off my bicycle at about 20mph onto a paved road. It works fine, but the glass is shattered. I've had this phone for almost a year. I rooted it the day I brought it home from the store. I have spent a lot of time trying roms and kernels and it is set up just how I like it.
I am wondering if it would be worth it to switch out the glass from the replacement phone and put it on my old phone (I'm not sure if this is possible yet, I just thought of it) and send back the replacement phone with the broken glass from the old phone. Or should I wait and see if the devs release a rooting method? I have 14 days to decide before I get charged $500 for not returning the broken phone to the insurance company. What would you do?
I'm not positive, but I think you can still RUU a 2.3 evo back to the 3.70 software and use Unrevoked from there. Good luck
I would send back the insurance replacement (saving you $100) and take it to a repair center and have the screen fixed (which is only $35). Losing root SUCKS.

That's insurance fraud. Asurion will know what phone you send back, and when they find out, they could easily make you pay the full price for it.

Yeah, that's definitely a criminal act. I wouldn't go that route.
Does everybody have some sort of amnesia that they don't remember when the 2.2 OTA came out and a lot of people lost root? Everybody freaked out, they had to wait a couple of weeks (gasp!) and people were all worried there would never be a root method. Bounties were placed, dozens of threads were started asking the same thing. That's what prompted my signature, in fact. There was even a sticky about it, not that those do any good.
Then, there was a root method.
Just be patient. It will happen, maybe the RUU thing will already work for you. Soon, you'll feel silly for being so quick to worry. Heed the words of Tom Petty.
I just got off the phone with the Sprint repair store. They told me that as of February, they no longer fix cracked screens for $35 if the screen has more that two 1 inch cracks. They also told me that once submitted, the insurance claim cannot be undone. I could have it fixed, but it would cost me the total for repair and the $100 for the insurance claim.
I don't remember when 2.2 came out and everyone lost root. I was still sporting my blackberry. This is my first Android phone and it came with 2.2.
I'm just going to return the broken phone and just wait it out. That is what I planned to do in the first place. The threads I read made it seem like there was a good chance that the ota 2.3 was unrootable.

Yup, that's the same experience I had. I went to TWO Sprint stores trying to replace my screen, no dice. So, I filed the claim with Asurion. Just got my phone today, and it's 2.3.3 with 4.22.651.2. Oh well, what can you do?
As everyone is saying, the root method will come out for this phone. Those with the newer phones (you, me, whoever else either just got a new Evo, did the OTA, or got an insurance replacement) will just have to patiently wait. I don't mind...it'll happen!
I was told by the insurance company that I COULD get the new phone, and have Sprint fix it with the new one.
Sprint was going to do it anyway, and replaced the screen on my wife's phone, but they didn't have any more EVO's in stock.
I have another question but didn't want to start another thread....
When I get my new phone, how can I tell if it's new, or refurbished?

New phones will ALWAYS come in the original box with all manuals and accessories. Refurbs will usually come in a plain box with no battery or anything. Refurbs also are required to have a small sticker under the battery with the date it was refurbed.
Also, to be sure, go to the dialer and hit ##786#. Scroll down to Refurbished Date. If it says N/A, then its new. If there is any date listed there, then its a refurb.

Help with my M8

Hey guys!
On friday afternoon, i believe i killed my 3 month old baby. I got furious at something, and threw the phone onto my desk (I'm 190cm 6'3, desk is about 70cm above ground, you do the maths) and when i picked the phone up...
It looked fine.
I tried unlocking it, nothing would come up other than a black screen lighting up, but the sounds touch etc it works fine. Even the digitizer seems fine, odd enough.
So practically the inner LCD is dead, and unfortunately since i bought the device from US and went back to my homecountry, that screen replacement thing doesnt work out for me. Also unfortunately HTC is a complete asshat and for a reason no one knows, decided to not make any authorized services in the country, and i dont want to trust some dude downtown which can "fix my phone for 450tl" (thats a big deal of money where the minimum wage is 900tl per month) that doesnt even have a store but a stand.
Since then im using my old S3, which shared the same faith; furious throws ended up with inner lcd being cracked. Got it replaced from dealer, but ever since its 3G module does not work and oddly enough the guys there were like "your phone was rooted its out of warranty if anything relating mobo happens" before even accepting payment; 3 days later hte phone started acting up and 3G failed.
Anyway to the actual question, how hard are these screens to change? Also, any good sellers on fleabay? I talked with a few phone guys I know and they agreed to change it if i provide the screen, but honestly i dont know what to do, to sell this phone and get an iPhone (or a S5 because waterproof) or to somehow get this repaired? I'm fairly pissed off that i cant get a damn phone repaired which is also sold and imported into the country...
Also kinda unrelated but might anyone know why the 3G doesnt work? I've since then unrooted the phone and reverted back to stock rom but its still not working...
Maybe this will get you an idea: http://goo.gl/nBvaLz
Never done it myself tho with an m8. My DHD and OneX have been fully disassembled without problems tho to replace almost everything. [emoji41]
Look for disassembly videos online and order a new screen\digitizer assembly form ebay (dont attempt to separate the glass from the screen).
It takes patience and some steady hands, but it is possible to change the assembly.

The M8 has a repairability score of 2/10. I bent my back cover, and many cell repair shops refused to replace it.
You don't want to take this on by yourself. Check out the tear down at ifixit.com.
Just did the work on a M7, it should not be all that different. Though, I have not tried it myself on my M8.

Lol, you can leave it be and just buy a new one as well, yeah. The easy way....
imo 2/10 means it's repairable (my glass is half full). I would look for a cheap dead-mobo or a hard-bricked phone (with a working screen , that is)

As long as you cant use it, why not try?

And the next time a girl breaks up with you - don't take it out at you phone, just hit a pillow.
I'm going to make the hotspot stay open 24/7, because S3 doesnt have mobile network, and since I'm paying why not actually use it?
Also, odd enough one service quoted me 330TL while another said 450TL (both in far away cities) when one in my city asked 400TL...

broke capacitive button cable

Hey guys, my phone got slammed in a car door and I finally paid £130 and replaced the screen because it got damaged to the point of being unusable but in the process of replacing it I accidently broke the ribbon for the multitask button. I've tried searching for the part on eBay etc and can't find a replacement part, could someone link me please? If it's available. Thanks in advance

Dunno, not much parts for the OP3. Have you watched JerryRigEverything? He has a really nice disassembly video.
Confirmed, you DID f**k up.
There are NO official replacement parts available online because OnePlus does not sell them to third parties. Anything you may come across is not official - including that screen you got somewhere.
Even if you don't mind unofficial parts, it's really hard to get small single parts for devices with poor service support. Full screen assemblies are fairly common, pretty much anything else isn't.
BTW, screen replacement in official service center costs about as much as you paid for the screen. Didn't benefit at all doing it alone ...
Don't have many options now, go check aliexpress, dealextreme and similar sites if you find anything. If not, well, ... you'll have to shell out even more £££.

Burn in

So I got my moto Z2 force 6mo ago at t-mobile rooted, TWRP, stock rom. No problems at till the screen has pretty bad burn in at the top and bottom of the screen. So Motorola is going to replace my phone with very little effort on my part trying to encourage them. Now I have a problem once I unroot and go back to stock and lock bootloader there's this software change screen. My question is if I send it in will they still replace it or not. I don't want to waste my time if they will not. So if anyone has tried please let me know. I all ready got the shipping lable so I'm kinda on a time crunch. Oh yeah the only thing they ask is if there was liquid damage or if the phone was damaged in a drop. Thanks Guys.b
The second you unlock your bootloader your warranty is voided, so if your trying to get it repaired using warranty it's not going to happen. Relocking your bootloader doesn't make your warranty valid again.
asislife20 is right. Only thing I think could happen is if Motorola/Lenovo act like HTC and see it as a hardware defect and still replace it. I was lucky and was able to warranty out my unlocked M7 due to it having a known hardware defect. Burn in is a grey area at best since I don't know many people who have it. My Z2 has been in service for over a year and doesn't have any burning.
Most of the time companies will know if it is a warranty due to unlocking (like breaking your partition table) or hardware (like the purple camera issue on the M7). Hardware defects are usually warrantied. I'd call them back and make sure
Well I FedEx it today so I will know in a few days. They gave me the option to send me a new one then after I got it I could send mine back but they were going to put a 500$ hold on my account but I opted to send it first then get the replacement once they get my old one. The root has nothing to do with screen burn anyhow. It's a great phone for power and it's not a Samsung or Apple, everyone I know has sold out to those two it's sad there are much better phones out there but most people are to goofy to try them out.
I will for sure let ya guy know witch ever way it goes. It's overnight shipping so Ill know soon. Fingers crossed.

I have had motorola replace a phone even tho I had previously unlocked the bootloader I didnt bother to relock it since they already know its been unlocked, got a new phone anyway
The repair order online says exchange and they sent me an email saying that the problem was resolved. so its looking good. I just want my phone back this Honor 6x doesn't cutting it.
The sent me a new Moto z2 force today. No questions asked in the end. Took 7 days but there's nothing like a new phone to break in. Thanks for the responses.
