downgrading from PIE to OREO - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

hello,
is there a tutorial/guide to downgrade from pie to oreo for the OP3?
not sure if its just mine or someone have the same problem as me also,
but after i upgrade to pie i noticed that my phone became slower and last night i installed the newest update, the phone batt is draining faster than ever.
tried to factory reset but still having the same problem.
++the phone is not rooted or anything, if that info helps
TIA
Danny

The easiest is to use the unbrick tool.

Battery Drain Issue After Upgrading to Marshmallow Stock

Hi,
So a few days ago I upgraded, unlocked the bootloader and rooted my zenfone 2 (Z00A-551ML) to stock Marshmallow (Build 4.21.40) expecting a good battery life but it happened otherwise, since upgrading I'm experiencing a battery drain issue with an average power time of 1-2 hours only and checking the culprit the Android System is currently taking up mostly of the juices at 47-50%, is there a way I could possibly fix the issue? Thanks for anyone who has any clues!

you can downgrade from Android 6.0 to Android 5.0, i think you should not upgrade to 6.0 because 6.0 is drain your phone battery. Even asus zentalk also has a post to talk about your problem. I'm sorry because I'm a new member of XDA so I can not post the link

perform factory reset. you will overcome the issue. when ever you upgrade or downgrade or update to new version. always perform a factory reset. it will solve lot of issue and implement new system properly

if you decide to downgrade it is pretty easy. you can do it multiple ways.
very first and most simple one. download downgrade firmware from asus website and flash it from recovery. it is super easy.
second is download latest LP firmware from asus. and fetch ifwi, boot, recovery, droidboot and splashscreen images flash them. reboot bootloader and now enter recovery and flash the firmware
third is download raw firmware and flash it via AFT or command method. ( if you are on custom firmware avoid flashing firmware with AFT without flashing stock bootloader)

I clean wiped the system before upgrading to Marshmallow though and already did a factory reset, to no avail. Except from the battery drain my zenfone heats up bat**** crazy too.

Downgrading is out of the table though, I liked how Marshmallow's system has made my phone a bit faster but the caveat is that the phone is heating up and the battery drains so fast. I'll try to do another factory reset once again and hope for the best but if not I might go and run a custom ROM instead.
Thanks, man!

you might have done factory reset before upgrade. do it again now. do report back if situation improves or not. another thing want to ask for my info, which LP rom were you on when you upgraded to MM?

I already did the factory reset, and now still observing if the drain and heat up issue' still occuring, thanks mate. Also was on latest Stock Lollipop build before I upgraded to Stock Marshmallow, basically I haven't rooted and changed any program of the phone for almost two years until just now.

I'm on the latest version of MM and I followed the official upgrading method from Zentalk. All's fixed now, the main culprit for the battery drain was an application I downloaded which boost SSD reading. Thanks man, cheers!

Update from 8.1 to 9.0 while rooted?

How do I update to android pie 9.0 from oreo 8.1 while being rooted. I would like to clean flash but don't know if i should do it in TWRP (since i have it installed) or if i should install and update directly from phone updates and then re-root the phone?
I know this might seem dumbfounded. Appreciate the help!
I think there's a guide on the magisk GitHub. Check there first.
I got through it.
factory reset and fastboot flashed everything

That's how I would do it.
One of the best things about Nexus / Google phones is the quick availability of the latest firmware and that one can go forwards AND backwards with versions.
I was rooted on 8.1 and got an update notification to pie. I took it, "knowing," it was gonna fail like all the previous updates. Much to my chagrin, it took! I was surprised to say the least. I was rooted again in less than half an hour...

Oreo & Pie VOLTE problem

Hello!
Since few days I am trying to reach volte again, as my original software had.
From the beginning, i bought XZ1C on Oreo firmware, volte was working, and then I let automatically update do ruin everything.. It upgrade to PIE 10.28 rom (I guess POLTELEKOM branding) which permamently shut down my all mobile data's. I downgrade to UK or DE customized oreo, lost attestation keys.. and volte./wificalling :/
I tried many combinations of flashing rom via newflasher.
Oreo, Pie, branded, unbranded.. Even from THIS thread ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/xp.../reliance-jio-volte-oem-sin-xz1-dual-t3871917 )
But nothing seems to work.
My phone is still factory unrooted etc.
Does anyone has any idea?
Thanks
Have you tried flashing the Polkomtel firmware?
Yes, and nothing seems to be repaired... In a week I'll be at home, maybe some of polish brand updated rom to latest. 80... Maybe it will help... :/

Downgrading Verizon SM-J337V (Galaxy Eclipse J3 gen 3?) back to Oreo

I have a Samsung sm-j337v on Verizon that I have been mostly happy and productive with until the forced OTA Pie 9.0 upgrade. Since the upgrade, the phone is noticeably slower and multitasking is a real pain in the rear.
I'd love to go back to the Oreo that the phone shipped with, but don't know if that's possible. As far as I understand it, doing a factory reset will simply leave me with a clean slate version of the currently installed version of Android which is 9.0.
Is there any way to accomplish this or am I stuck with
Hey, You can use odin to downgrade your phone on oreo but did you try a factory reset before go back to oreo ?
If you really want oreo try this fimware : https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=6006931924117896042

Downgrading from Pie to Oreo

Hi everyone!
I've updated my z2 force to pie, and i wish I hadn't. Is it possible to downgrade back to Oreo and how? If possible, i wouldn't want to loose my gpay/banking apps, so i presume I'd have to relock the bootloader after downgrading. Sorry, newb here.
Thanks.

Based on all of the things that have happened over the last couple of weeks with several users in this forum, it appears that there is no going back to Oreo from Pie. Once you have installed a Pie modem, so far, no one had come up with a way to get an Oreo modem back in the device and get one working. There may be hope in the future but it hasnt been worked out yet.
Hot tip, If you lock you bootloader after flashing Oreo and can no longer enable OEM Unlock as you cannot access internet... use Bluetooth Tether to other phone to access internet, then OEM Unlock is available again.
