LG LM-T600L - msm8996 soc, 8000mAh battery, android pie OS, dual screen - LG G8 Questions & Answers

https://www.mylgphones.com/lg-v60-lmt600l-gets-certified-by-rra-in-korea.html
LG today posted the kernel source code for LM-T600L
I just noticed that there are two battery files in the folder, LMT600L_Kernel_Pie.tar\kernel\msm-4.4\arch\arm64\boot\dts\lge
one is 8000mAh battery, and another is 6000mAh battery
is it mean that LM-T600 is an upcoming tablet?
@

I heard something recently as there may be a third G8 smartphone after the arrival of G8 and G8s.
Something related with LGs idea of fold display (let's say "Dual Screen" or "Triple Screen" possibility) even though it will lack some of the futures G8 and G8s has.
Anyway, for the "LM-T600" reference, you actually have 3 : the T600, T600L and T600US and as I assume, it's well a tablet : http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=ALL&search=T600

lm-t600us
these devices do not have a dedicated post yet, how do i ask for one?
i picked up a NEW , but broken , ( easy fix to me ) tablet, and now i need to root it, VERIZION put TONS of crapware on these things..
-note- i will gladly switch the KDZ as i NEVER plan on using this for cellular, if it helps. (plus it seems ALL HARDWARE is the same across the mobile versions except the frequencies.
PS: if you ever take one apart, message me, as its not hard, but there is a few tips to share.

does anyone know , can i flash another KDZ to my LM600 ? (i have a VS version, but would like to flash the WIFI only KDZ )
the chipset seems to be the same across the 600's ?

How to install custom ROM on chinese mobile phone MTK6595

I have bought android chinese mobile phone and I need someone to guide me on how to install custom ROM on it. I have been searching for the last 4 days on all websites that support chinese clone phones trying to find a ROM for my phone but I have realized that my phone is not a clone of any other phone, it is simply chinese android phone without any brand name or private fake brand names.
The phone has the following specs:
Chipset: MTK6595, CPU: 2.3GHZ Oct-Core, Ram: 4GB, ROM: 40GB , Android:4.4.3 (with lots of chinese apps)
I can install custom recovery and root the phone, this is not a problem at all. The problem I'm facing is finding a ROM for my phone. So, What I need is, just a ROM that will work on my phone. Since my phone doesn't belong to any brand name!
Q- Can I just flash any ROM of those chinese ROMS that are available on the internet for MTK6595 without changing the current kernel on the phone? as I believe all chinese phones that run same MTK chipset number has the same interface and everything else!
Q- Is there a universal ROM that can just be installed on any device without touching the kernel (just like installing windows on your computer)?
In your reply, please make sure your reply is detailed and don't make me guess steps in between.
Thank you
Hmmmmmm...what kind of your phone name? It's strange because mtk6595 usually came with 3gb ram. Where you buy it?
I am very sure that your phone's specs are untrue. Because I have a similar phone as well, which I was planning to use as replacement for my Ecoo E04 Aurora which has a few problems.
The specs promised were quite similar to yours. It looks like a clone of HTC M9, and also has the rotating camera from Oppo's N1 Mini. But the phone's specs are NOT even close to those mentioned.
You can download CPU ID and then choose the option of validating the specs, and you'll find out that the processor is MT6572, it is only a dual core phone with a RAM of 512MB, and as you'd know already, the screen is not FHD, but only 960x540.
My friend, we were scammed. A lot of people bought these phones from AliExpress, GizChina and other sites. All of them have been duds. Names are similar to these: TTEM, G+, MPIE, etc.
Protip: Don't buy any Chinese phone of a brand that you cannot find on Google, because c'mon, if Google can't find it, it's surely something they DON'T want to advertise/promote.
Also, if you'd still want to flash a custom ROM, just find something for MT6752, and it'll work fine.
My device got riddled with viruses, thanks to my dad falling for all those ads which ask you to install antiviruses and speed boosters. I had to factory reset my phone, and in that process, I lost the original ROM as well. YES, this phone IS that ****ty! Just get a better ROM.
Peace.

Do anyone regret after purchasing LG G4 and why ?

Hey everyone. I made this topic just to discover who regrey buying LG G4 and the reason why they regret. If they dont regret then please let us know.
Sent from my LG-H818 using Tapatalk
Why?.I have it since a week and the phone is great, perfect. As an ex M9 user, the G4 is better IMO.
Waiting for 6.0.
No regrets after more than 4 months, you need a BT earphones for music as the 3.5mm is too low and some HTC ported apps to have a perfect UI (thanks Xpirt)
I didn't regret, but I do wish some things could be better (UI & Battery Life). Other than those, I've been relatively happy with my decision.
However, I installed the Resurrection Remix ROM last week and battery life is definitely better and the AOSP UI + CM13 theme engine is 100 times better than stock.

Which variant are you using? For most devices 6.0 is out there and you can manually install it (With or without root )
EDIT: To answer your question: No ragrets. Not even an "a" for an "e" Best phone out there.
Came from a Note 4, love the G4 (stock) the most! Not as much bloat and nonsense as the note 4
I sold my G4 just for modding. I like to mod and unfortunately G4 have a small community. Good luck , best 2015 phone if you dont mind to be on stock.
only thing i regret about the G4 is the inability of most G4 variants to have an official unlocked bootloader ughh damn LG
I regret it and also not. I owned at least half a dozen android phones in the past two years, and the LG was the real bang for the buck with a very great camera. However, this was the only phone I had serious issues with.
H815 - First unit came with the display acting up (stuck pixel clusters), and finally RMAd it, when the motherboard died. I received it back repaired (PCB changed), but the display is now worse than before, the problem is, that it only shows after a few minutes of usage and probably they did not notice it. Stuck pixels + different brightness levels around the stuck pixel area. RMAing it again...
I don't really regret buying it, but if I were given the option again, I wouldn't chose G4.
My LG G4 is flawless. Battery is OK, no bootloops, no stutters/lags, etc. However, I bought it right after it was put in the market for a not-so-budget price and, for my needs, an S6 would've be better suited.
I mean... don't get me wrong. But as far as I don't need a spare battery/expandable storage, S6 would be a better choice. I just got tempted for the 5,5 screen and camera.

Im using H815T.My phone just boot up after flashing V20B KDZ with LGUP.6.0 looks smoother than LP.With V20C after restart comes up an error, but this error is not present with V20B.
Sorry,my english is not the best, that's why i do some errors.
I regret because I have weirdo half screen touch problem, it becomes crazy, but it's not a real problem, but there's still a problem so... and I don't have time to send it back, It does not have fingerprint sensor which is a shame for a 2015 flagship and it's plastic, we need some metal with leather...
But I bought it because of his camera, that's it.
have it for 6 months now (it is my only phone)
I regret:
- bad battery life (no more than 3h SOT)
- no unlocked bootloader / dead development scene (only a handful of ROMs, most are buggy and almost all of them are for H815 eu only models)
- bad sound over the earphones (really weak)
- no fingerprint reader (when all the other flagships have one)
- features that are essentially broken (still to this day), like tap to unlock
Lg v10 hands down would have been much better to have but lg g4 is still a great phone non the less
Overall i do regret.
I really liked the phone camera (front and back), screen, design and the option to remove battery and insert an sd card if needed.
But as i said before i never buy an LG smartphone again. They unlock the bootloader for just a single model and thats it. I like to customize and install mods on my phones, mainly to make it better, faster and that stuff, but my H815P cant be unlocked, and now here i am with a "Porsche that can't past 60mph"
Yet on the bad side, battery is not the best, some bugs even on the stock rom, and etc.
LG, never again. I prefer a not so good phone but that i can do whatever i want than this. Note 5 is the target now.

I was waiting for OTA or update to come through Bridge and couldnt wait more,so i used V20B KDZ and it's done with LGUP.Very smooth really.
regret and disappoint , all about the bootloader
I do ..because of the locked bootloader and i have g815p and i still didnt get MM
I moved to the V10 and I don't regret getting the G4 at all...because I still have it
These are similar phones spec-wise but in hand they are obviously quite different. I've had the G4 since July and just got the V10 a couple of weeks ago.
Already I keep trying to unlock the smaller phone via the non-existent fingerprint scanner lol!

No need to remain in stock, the community worked out ways how to root. But the biggest downer is definitely LGs position on bootloader unlocking. We can have Lollipop root without BL unlock, but no custom ROMs, no root for Marshmallow :/
It's my second Android, my previous one is a rather ****ty Galaxy Ace from 2011. So yeah, compared to that, Im happy with rooted 5.1.

Thinking about buying the LG G4.. how stable are the custom roms?

So I finally broke my Galaxy S4 last night, and I'm thinking about buying an LG G4 to replace it. However, the LG UI "improvements" look awful, and I bet I would be changing the firmware pretty soon if I get it. So with that in mind, I'm wondering if I should be buying the phone. Is CM13 or other roms stable enough that replacing the stock rom a good idea on a new phone?
I'm also considering any any other phone in the same price range, including the Moto X Style (Pure).
Unless you're looking to get the T-Mobile (811) or the International EU (815) version, there is no way to install custom roms. Those are the only two unlockable variants.
The other versions are rootable if you stay on 5.1.1 LP, but if you want 6.0 MM, you'll be stuck with the T-Mobile or EU Int version. There is no way to root all the other variants on 6.0
Luckily, I would be getting the 815 version.
As far as I can tell the ROMs based on stock are very stable. You won't even notice the difference. CM and CM based ROMs are the usual. Stable but have a few annoying bugs. I haven't really tried any AOSP so I won't speak for those
Heres my opinion.i have a tmobile version and if i flasha custom rom it seems to drop the bands as i cannot get signal in places where i can on stock based custom roms or pure stock rom.it does not switch between towers properly and i lose the ability to make or recieve calls.when i check phone info on aosp or cm based roms it shows it uses only 4 of the 12 bands i have.

I made the same transition; from Galaxy S4 to Lg G4.
I'm running stock with Xposed. The G4 Tweaksbox app has a themes option and I've got a stock android one applied. It's really stable (I always expect themes to go crazy). The only other thing is the settings. You can get a stock settings mod but I don't really see the point. It works well enough for me and settings isn't really something you'd aim to be going on everyday anyway.
The clip tray is annoying but can be disabled. Add nova launcher and Google keyboard and it's all good. This is a much better solution than a custom ROM. You'll never get this kind of stability. Not forgetting that your camera app and fm radio and others will also be gone.
EDIT:
When buying, make sure the serial number starts with 601 or 602 603... These phones were manufactured this year so hopefully won't have the bootloop bug. If buying 2nd hand, ask the seller for the serial. If they can't provide it, ask for the IMEI and look up the serial number using https://imeidata.net/warranty/lg
There are too many references for 6XX bootloop issues, so I wouldn't recommend LG G4 at all , for custom theming, roms etc. Even after replacing motherboards of 5xx to 6xx, the bootloops are something more common than I used to believe...
personally am very happy with g4(601). best combo for me is Genisys Rom 4.2 + SimpleGX KERNEL (then Tweaksbox, xposed & nova launcher). very stable, no lags, speedy, good battery, amazing camera/lg app. downsides are unlocking bootloader voids warranty & the body corner feels painfully sharp after a while in the hand.
I am happy with the G4 too, 601 as well , but unfortunately that doesn't change the fact that there are many issues with the phone! I hope the OP can enjoy and proceed at his own risk of course!
Thanks for the replies guys! At the moment I think I'm leaning towards the Moto X Style, and will probably order it (at pretty much the same price as the G4) tomorrow unless someone talks me out of it.

I'll be honest with you.....my mom has this phone and has massive battery drain issues, where as I have none. If your going for good battery and fast updates than Motorola will be your best bud, but if you don't mind mediocre battery but a kick ass camera then the G4 will be your best bud. PS it's as good as point and shoot this is coming from someone that does photography for a living.

Going to repeat this over and over again, i don't understand those people who after unboxing immediately install custom ROM (What!? you know what you're buying, you support OEM in this case LG, you support their firmware, skin and now you throwing out your money for something else in many cases worse, facepalm) if you want pure Android you buy Nexus, Motorola maybe, that's it, as Google says "Be together not the same". Installing custom ROM's it's like putting BMW rims on Toyota's car... beside that, G4 don't need a custom ROM, just imagine what your going to deal with custom ROM, awful camera, sound issue, lost functionalities, bugs, strange battery drains, degradation in overall battery life and everything for stock Android look? for latest security patches? themes? it's not worth it atleast now, IMO custom ROM's comes in handy when OEM stop's supporting your device with the latest firmware so if i done calculations right you should look for CM for LG G4 when Android 8-9 comes out. All you need is a root and good kernel then comes a good stuff, long story short, CM is a cancer for latest devices, flagships, believe me and don't think i'm condemning CM.

I used to be one of those who buys a flagship device, then immediately look for bootloader unlock, root and flash. But after having LG G4 for 3 weeks now, stock MM latest, installed with my needed apps and games, I lost the feel of flashing custom ROMs.
G4 is great as it is, although optimizations can be done, a little upgrade here and there. As long as LG supports G4 with updates and with their accessories, then I'll stay with LG as manufacturer. Of they abandon us (like what they did with G PRO), then I'll switch devices.
LG has been my favorite since 2013.

Be extremely cautious where you get your 815 from. I bought one from Value basket that was advertised as a European Variant for the express purpose of developing a CFW- When it came it wasn't and they refused to exchange it. I've got an email trail as long as your arm trying to get the thing exchanged but they're just con-merchants.
But it's still an awesome phone....

I do get your point. Buying the G4 would have been a compromise to get some good hardware for a low price, and I hoped to to sweeten that deal even more by customizing the firmware to my liking. However, I ended up getting a second-hand Nexus 6P instead. :victory:

Smartest move you could have ever made. LG has left me with a bitter taste in my mouth. Ever since I got my phone back with a new circuit board it feels like a ticking time bomb and I don't use it for anything other than texting, phone use and browsing. How pathetic is that.

i had 2 LGV30 H930 with me too and i have to say that this display is absolutely gorgeous and we have little characters by default here .
It seems we have more brightness OOTB on this Oled but maybe this is a software calibration.
No Banding problem at all until now.
Platinum Gray is the best color i had on all my LG Devices. Loving it
I just with they moved the headphone jack to the bottom if they're making a revised version.
Other than that, does it feel any different to a V30? Is there any reason to upgrage? Also, do you not live in the US? Isn't it carrier locked?

A lot of phones moved the HPJ to the bottom in the last years and I think it really makes sense imo. Especially on a phone like the V30 which is the ultimate audiophile phone.
I use mine all the time for listening to music and I wanna put the phone upside down in my pocket so when I take it out, my finger is already on the fingerprint reader and I can instantly use the phone. But if the HPJ is at the top, I can't to that because I don't want to stress the jack on the phones (it's one of the most common failure points on a headphone), so I have to put the phone bottom side down in my pocket. And then when I take it out I need to flip it in my hand or just take it out uncomfortably so it's already in the right orientation. But then I need to adjust my grip so I can get to the fingerprint reader.
It may seem like a really small thing, but sometimes on a long walk I can take the phone out tens of times and every time it's really uncomfortable. Also the other thing is more minor but if you plug some headphones with a thick and heavy cable, the weight distribution becomes top-heavy which also makes using the phone pretty annoying. Generally I don't see any advantage having the thing on top, but may be it's just me.

I've exported V35 from Kentucky where my friend lives and he had provided for me
You can pay in full on AT&T physical Store and they will provide you a permanent unlock code to unlocck network and all supported bands.
Generally i don't feel big changes in hand, it's the same product that V30 is. The "Core" changes are inside this Beast

Usually LG is famous to take wrong decisions worldwide
it's too bad LG value sinks like a rock. This is a fantastic phone, but after buying the V30 upon release for $800, I think from now on I'll just scoop them up lightly used on ebay 6 months later for half price.
I also see the updated the selfie cam. Which is great. But apparently the camera app has less features (since it's exactly the same as the G7), and the wide angle cam is 107 degrees on the V35 and 120 degrees on the V30. Another downgrade imo.

Can you dump the vendor partition by any chance?
We might be able to make use of it for the V30 and get a better Treble experience than the current vendor partition that we have from the Trebelized LineageOS rom for the V30.

Problem would be: different drivers for camera and so on, also for the chipset (except they split it up again, like the firmware in the v30, which for example adreno is split up in adreno 520, 530 (whereas the higher ones contain just patches for the lower ones, so you can take the lower named ones for a sd821 device)
idk about vibrator or so though, which would be nice though (damn special vibrator hardware in the v30 making everything complicated lol)
i just don't understood if USB Type-C here is 2.0 or 3.1

Also SD845 isn't "stock" big.LITTLE anymore - it's further evolved DynamIQ, whatever that means, also cache handling and structure is different (common cache between cores/cluster)
quite a different beast, actually:
https://www.anandtech.com/show/12114/qualcomm-announces-snapdragon-845-soc
https://www.neowin.net/news/qualcomms-snapdragon-845-benchmarks-show-massive-gains
In theory it has outstanding performance gains 20-45% (?) but in benchmarks it's more close to 15-20%, still pretty awesome for a generation upgrade
So with a custom toolchain, custom optimization flags, custom ROM, etc. you mostly will be able to get more of the full potential out of that phone
I like how it catches up to Apple's SoC in a BIG way

I doubt they would downgrade it on the V35 to 2.0 as the V30 has atleast 3.1 Gen 1 (former known as 3.0).
Just that LG only ships a 2.0 cable with the V30 (atleast my H930 only had a 2.0 cable...), used a 3.0 cable, and transfer rate skyrocketet
Edit: @wolfgart could you tell me the model number for the V35? (or get a kdz?)
I think i could use some of its implementations on the V30 (e.g. the vibrator, could fix that it becomes dull after a while, if it still uses the same motor for it that is)

Oh ok. I thought that the v35 was the same exact thing as the v30 except for the SD845

Its basically a G7 inside a V30 case, with V30 display. Has the newer cams from the G7 too. Idk about other hardware components though (like i said, our special vibrator).

LG G8s

Hello LG friends
glad to find you here.
I'm a loyal LG mobile user; once I started using them abt 10 years ago, I've never looked for another brand (except from BB for my work emails).
So, I bought the LG G8s, it's a great phone, runs smoothly, haven't had any problems whatsoever up to now (over 2 months).
3 things I don't like though, which I think I may have not found out how to have them - not sure if it's posible, but I would really love to have:
(i) in the Menu of contacts and settings, it only seems that you can see it as a 'list' ... I absolutely loved the 'tabs' my previous LG G3 had... really the 'tabs' is not available in this phone?
(ii) No LED notifications... is it really something this phone lacks?
(iii) the 2nd SIM slot can be used either as a second sim slot OR as a memory card - I really hate that (the LG G3 could use both sim slots AND a memory card)... why they keep on doing this thing?
I'm still so in love with my LG G3 dual sim (D858HK - had bought it from Singapore and a friend sent it over for me). I have had it since 2014 and NEVER-EVER run into any problems whatsoever... screen went bad though... bought another one, installed it, worked OK for a couple of months, and went bad too... then the second sim started having issues, etc... so I decided it was abt time to upgrade...
I'm quite satisfied with the G8s, but these 3 points above (especially the first 2, coz I bought the 128Gb model, so space-wise I'm ok) annoy me...
Is there a solution to the above 2 points? Maybe some software upgrade or something? I really like the 'tabs' view thing...
Thank you
I think there some DIY videos on youtube , which you can use both sims and mmc , but require some handy work , just search for "use 2 sim and memory card on g8s " on youtube and you are good to go
BTW , are you satisfied with the screen of the g8s ? and how are the cameras , are they any good?
Need lg kdz installer for my lg g8s LM-G820N
