Hello LG friends
glad to find you here.
I'm a loyal LG mobile user; once I started using them abt 10 years ago, I've never looked for another brand (except from BB for my work emails).
So, I bought the LG G8s, it's a great phone, runs smoothly, haven't had any problems whatsoever up to now (over 2 months).
3 things I don't like though, which I think I may have not found out how to have them - not sure if it's posible, but I would really love to have:
(i) in the Menu of contacts and settings, it only seems that you can see it as a 'list' ... I absolutely loved the 'tabs' my previous LG G3 had... really the 'tabs' is not available in this phone?
(ii) No LED notifications... is it really something this phone lacks?
(iii) the 2nd SIM slot can be used either as a second sim slot OR as a memory card - I really hate that (the LG G3 could use both sim slots AND a memory card)... why they keep on doing this thing?
I'm still so in love with my LG G3 dual sim (D858HK - had bought it from Singapore and a friend sent it over for me). I have had it since 2014 and NEVER-EVER run into any problems whatsoever... screen went bad though... bought another one, installed it, worked OK for a couple of months, and went bad too... then the second sim started having issues, etc... so I decided it was abt time to upgrade...
I'm quite satisfied with the G8s, but these 3 points above (especially the first 2, coz I bought the 128Gb model, so space-wise I'm ok) annoy me...
Is there a solution to the above 2 points? Maybe some software upgrade or something? I really like the 'tabs' view thing...
Thank you
I think there some DIY videos on youtube , which you can use both sims and mmc , but require some handy work , just search for "use 2 sim and memory card on g8s " on youtube and you are good to go
BTW , are you satisfied with the screen of the g8s ? and how are the cameras , are they any good?
Need lg kdz installer for my lg g8s LM-G820N

Hello everybody,
i have maybe a little strange question but still...
i own a LG G3 16gb, before that i was an Iphone user for about 8 years, and since the Apple has become "boring", i switched to Android LG G3, wich was supposed to be the BEAST...and damn i was wrong...
Dont get me wrong, i love the phone, it just bothers me like hell the laggines of the user interface...why did LG had to ruin perfectly good machine, loaded with superb hardware, with a crappy UI????
For instance...apps like dialer, messages, email...tooks about 2-3 seconds to open up...it even lags on scrolling trough facebook (had to switch off Auto video play to kinda fix that).
So my question is...is there any ROM maybe for this phone wich does not have an UGLY stock LG G3 skin...currently i use Crash Rom 1.6.2 which is better from stock...but still not good...
Because i dont believe there is no better rom for that hardware...

you should've got a Moto X 2014 or Nexus 5/6 instead
yea im looking for nexus 5 but only 16gb are available in my country which is a shame they did not put an SD card slot in this phone :crying:
well i had this problem for a while but it seems to be fixed now that i flashed the v20H update. my phone is superfast and battery life is almost as good as it was on lg g2 (i can easily reach 5h of screen on time). i'm satisfied now. you can try that and remove useless apps from LG (it makes a huge difference) (root is needed)
on the other hand, you can try the aosp version which is snappier and faster than anyone but you'll lose quality on camera (like darker pictures)
Flash Cyanogenmod ...

How did you keep the root with lollipop.
I am on KitKat rooted and when I did the update I lost root, so I went back to KitKat again and rooted.
Sorry about the dumb question I am kind of new to Android too

could u define what do you mean by that?i currently run crash mod 2.1 (just updated)
I originally had an LG G3 when it was released but after a few weeks grew tired with the lag on the phone, even though I thought everything else (Camera, screen, design, etc) was absolutely perfect. During the last few months, I've tested out every flagship phone and found the LG G3 was my favorite by far.
Anyway, I've ordered a brand new LG G3 which will arrive today at some point and wanted to ask if the lag had been fixed by software updates or it still persists or if there were any tips (without rooting) to make the phone work flawlessly as it should with the specs it has? Thanks =)

Hi. If you don't want to root your phone, try one of the official lollipop ROMs. Of you experience lag, you can still root your phone (after downgrading) and install a custom ROM. I use Cloudy G3 2.1 and it's great.

Thanks for the help, I may end up rooting if it lets me remove the full lag =)
I would recommend to root immediately if your g3 still runs kitkat. Because it will save you from downgrading drom lollipop and then root.
Hello all G3 users [emoji4] I'm currently using a HTC One M7 running on CM12.1 & love it (mainly because of the stereo speakers), but I want to get a new phone because this one is getting old & boring for me... I'm debating between choosing the G3 & Galaxy Note 3... The biggest thing is that I don't really like screens larger than 5" but in today's standards getting a good ~5" phone, that has good developer support is getting harder & harder to do... So as I said, I'm torn between the Note 3 & G3 (my mum has a G3s, which I like). One of the reasons to get the G3 over Note 3, is that the G3 is newer than his opponent, so I could have it even longer with good ROM support from xda, which is the biggest thing for me while choosing a phone [emoji4] I've seen that there are 2 versions of the G3 with 2GB RAM/16GB ROM & 3GB RAM/32GB ROM, so I have a question to that... Is there any other big difference between them, that would make me consider choosing the 3/32 version over the 2/16 (except the storage space ofc. (will use a sdcard anyways)) Or is it the same phone with just a bit different stuff in hardware? Also, do both of them have the same model number (D855 I assume)? I have read on here, that some people have problems that have to do with LTE... Can someone explain me that? (Just need a basic explanation, not a in depth guide). Thanks for your time, by reading all of this [emoji1]

Firstly, You Should Buy 32/3Gb Variant Because 2K Screen With 2Gb Ram İs Too Low (You Probably Have 800-500mb Free Ram On 2Gb, İ Dont Know İ Have 32/3 Gb One ) İ Dont Have İssues With 4G/LTE, Because No 4G/LTE İn Turkey (4.5G/LTE-A coming in April ) there is not hardware changes between 32/3 And 16/2, Just Ram İs Lower, Both İs D855 (if europan one)
Basiccaly Some G3 Variants:
->D855 Europan One
->D852 Canadian One
->D851 T-Mobile One
->D850 At&t One
->VS985 Verzion One
->LS990 Spirint One
->US990 Us One Or Anything Like This
->F400S,K,T Korean One
->F460S,K,T Korean LTE-A One (Snap 805)
->D856 Dual LTE One
->D857 Dual Sim Korean One
->D858HK Dual Sim Chinese One
Okay, thanks for clearing up the versions of it. The biggest problem for me, in getting the G3 in Poland is that I find only 2/16 versions... Hard to find the 3/32 even if it's used, which angers me a bit... Would need to search more or wait longer & see if someone puts it up on sale [emoji52]
I suggest U to take a G3. I have used Note 3 and now using G3 Cat.6 F460s. It is on Marshmallow officially.
Battery timing is same or better than note 3. But in idol mode note 3 is better.
Note 3 heats up more than g3 while player a haevy game or videos
User interface is tooooooooo much freindly customizable in G3. While U always have knox warranty issues by destroying samsung devices(Note 3 and later only) by loosing baseband and sim card signal forever when U go to customize android system in note 3.
Quick circle case is always a gr8 option to be used it keep ur device safe, beautiful in fashion, more useful even the case is closed.
Camera result is more clear than note 3 in day or light areas but in low light note 3 is lil bit fine.
Note 3 have s pen option but U can gain that option by purchasing a universal stylus at 1 or 2 US$.
Choice is urz... I wanted to explain things being nutral.

One of my friends have note 3. He was trying to update his devide manually but being noob he flashed official lollipop not considering baseband and his device got knox 0x1 so now his device is unrecoverable and he is using it without having any sim card signal. Tried every Jtag and box every software repairing lab is visited but not useful. Cell was out of warranty to be sent back to samsung service centre

I could send U My G3 Cat.6 but Poland is too much far from Pakistan.... being a human I wanted to help U... U should purchase through Amazon dear friend...

Hmm... I always thought that the G3 heats up more because, because of the rushed 2k screen... Well, I think I was wrong then [emoji52]
Don't really care about KNOX, gonna trip it anyways by installing custom ROMs...
The Quick circle case isn't really a big deal for me. I currently have a flipcover case on my HTC, which can act as a stand for it, which I like very much [emoji1] So I would like to have the same one for the LG
I don't really care about camera, I don't use it 99% of the time, so yeah...
Well, the S-Pen has far more features than a standard pen that can only be used as a finger replacement...
Yup U are right choice is urz... But my suggestion is that. U should not trip knox... After 0x1 no custom Rom brings back signals. I have tried all possible tricks on internet and even sent to software repairing labs... They could do anything even with custom Roms

Haha, would rather get it myself but thanks for the effort. Also, we have 2 popular sites in Poland where there are many electronic devices like phone etc so I search both of them. Currently I'm on the hunt for the G3 & Note 3 (16GB variant in this one) so if the G3 idea fails, I gonna go for the Note 3 then...
OfCourse Choice is urz bro

U should by a G4 I think so. Or Note 5 will be a much gr8 choice.

Yeah, would like to, but my budget is very limited & I don't work so money is a big problem for me... So the best option for the money is to get a G3/Note 3 [emoji52]
Hey everyone. I made this topic just to discover who regrey buying LG G4 and the reason why they regret. If they dont regret then please let us know.
Sent from my LG-H818 using Tapatalk
Why?.I have it since a week and the phone is great,perfect.As an ex M9 user,the G4 is better IMO.
Waiting for 6.0.
No regrets after more than 4 months, you need a BT earphones for music as the 3.5mm is too low and some HTC ported apps to have a perfect UI (thanks Xpirt)
I didn't regret, but I do wish some things could be better (UI & Battery Life). Other than those, I've been relatively happy with my decision.
However, I installed the Resurrection Remix ROM last week and battery life is definitely better and the AOSP UI + CM13 theme engine is 100 times better than stock.

Which variant are you using? For most devices 6.0 is out there and you can manually install it (With or without root )
EDIT: To answer your question: No ragrets. Not even an "a" for an "e" :laugh: Best phone out there.
Came from a Note 4, love the G4 (stock) the most! Not as much bloat and nonsense as the note 4
I sold my G4 just for modding. I like to mod and unfortunately G4 have a small community. Good luck , best 2015 phone if you dont mind to be on stock.
only thing i regret about the G4 is the inability of most G4 variants to have an official unlocked bootloader ughh damn LG
I regret it and also not. I owned at least half a dozen android phones in the past two years, and the LG was the real bang for the buck with a very great camera. However, this was the only phone I had serious issues with.
H815 - First unit came with the display acting up (stuck pixel clusters), and finally RMAd it, when the motherboard died. I received it back repaired (PCB changed), but the display is now worse than before, the problem is, that it only shows after a few minutes of usage and probably they did not notice it. Stuck pixels + different brightness levels around the stuck pixel area. RMAing it again...
I don't really regret buying it, but if I were given the option again, I wouldn't chose G4.
My LG G4 is flawless. Battery is OK, no bootloops, no stutters/lags, etc. However, I bought it right after it was put in the market for a not-so-budget price and, for my needs, an S6 would've be better suited.
I mean... don't get me wrong. But as far as I don't need a spare battery/expandable storage, S6 would be a better choice. I just got tempted for the 5,5 screen and camera.

Im using H815T.My phone just boot up after flashing V20B KDZ with LGUP.6.0 looks smoother than LP.With V20C after restart comes up an error,but this error is not present with V20B.
Sorry,my english is not the best,that's why i do some errors.
I regret because I have weirdo half screen touch problem, it becomes crazy, but it's not a real problem, but there's still a problem so... and I don't have time to send it back, It does not have fingerprint sensor which is a shame for a 2015 flagship and it's plastic, we need some metal with leather...
But I bought it because of his camera, that's it.
have it for 6 months now (it is my only phone)
I regret:
- bad battery life (no more than 3h SOT)
- no unlocked bootloader / dead development scene (only a handful of ROMs, most are buggy and almost all of them are for H815 eu only models)
- bad sound over the earphones (really weak)
- no fingerprint reader (when all the other flagships have one)
- features that are essentially broken (still to this day), like tap to unlock
Lg v10 hands down would have been much better to have but lg g4 is still a great phone non the less
Overall i do regret.
I really liked the phone camera (front and back), screen, design and the option to remove battery and insert an sd card if needed.
But as i said before i never buy an LG smartphone again. They unlock the bootloader for just a single model and thats it. I like to customize and install mods on my phones, mainly to make it better, faster and that stuff, but my H815P cant be unlocked, and now here i am with a "Porsche that can't past 60mph"
Yet on the bad side, battery is not the best, some bugs even on the stock rom, and etc.
LG, never again. I prefer a not so good phone but that i can do whatever i want than this. Note 5 is the target now.

I was waiting for OTA or update to come through Bridge and couldnt wait more,so i used V20B KDZ and it's done with LGUP.Very smooth really.
regret and disappoint , all about the bootloader
I do ..because of the locked bootloader and i have g815p and i still didnt get MM
I moved to the V10 and I don't regret getting the G4 at all...because I still have it
These are similar phones spec-wise but in hand they are obviously quite different. I've had the G4 since July and just got the V10 a couple of weeks ago.
Already I keep trying to unlock the smaller phone via the non-existent fingerprint scanner lol!

No need to remain in stock, the community worked out ways how to root. But the biggest downer is definitely LGs position on bootloader unlocking. We can have Lollipop root without BL unlock, but no custom ROMs, no root for Marshmallow :/
It's my second Android, my previous one is a rather ****ty Galaxy Ace from 2011. So yeah, compared to that, Im happy with rooted 5.1.

LG today posted the kernel source code for LM-T600L
I just noticed that there are two battery files in the folder, LMT600L_Kernel_Pie.tar\kernel\msm-4.4\arch\arm64\boot\dts\lge
one is 8000mAh battery, and another is 6000mAh battery
is it mean that LM-T600 is an upcoming tablet?
@
I heard something recently as there may be a third G8 smartphone after the arrival of G8 and G8s.
Something related with LGs idea of fold display (let's say "Dual Screen" or "Triple Screen" possibility) even though it will lack some of the futures G8 and G8s has.
Anyway, for the "LM-T600" reference, you actually have 3 : the T600, T600L and T600US and as I assume, it's well a tablet : http://opensource.lge.com/osSch/list?types=ALL&search=T600
lm-t600us
these devices do not have a dedicated post yet, how do i ask for one?
i picked up a NEW , but broken , ( easy fix to me ) tablet, and now i need to root it, VERIZION put TONS of crapware on these things..
-note- i will gladly switch the KDZ as i NEVER plan on using this for cellular, if it helps. (plus it seems ALL HARDWARE is the same across the mobile versions except the frequencies.
PS: if you ever take one apart, message me, as its not hard, but there is a few tips to share.
does anyone know , can i flash another KDZ to my LM600 ? (i have a VS version, but would like to flash the WIFI only KDZ )
the chipset seems to be the same across the 600's ?
