is this safe and official to flash???were is the source of this download
Now, i am downloading emui9.1 c432 for P20 from this link but don't know how to flash it?
It's a file around 5.4GB...
Any advise?
tnx
Be careful when flashing, it is not L29 model it is something Emily or L09, i am not sure, i prefer to wait for OTA
In ziped folder have 3 subfolders. One eml-l29 and other eml-l09 and something like updater.zip
Eml is acronim of a code name Emily
Must erase unwanted folder so in dload folder must exist some (or something like that) updater.zip and eml-l29... folder...
But that is for a hwota method i think. Not sure...

It's for dload method, you can use otg cabel, USB flash disk and save the dload folder on USB(there is documentation in the zip file how to install it)
Ok. Tnx.
Who want to flash phone, must format USB as exFAT or NTFS and copy whole dload folder to USB without erasing content of a folder.
L29 is dual SIM mark and L09 is for a single SIM mark...

Hi,all I am trying to install ICS on my acer iconia a100 , but without success .
I put the update.rar to the sd card before that formated the card to fat32 and when i hold the power + volume its show's me with white text - Trying to read and verify the sd file and with red : signature verification failed, the tablet is in forever loop ,please turn it off.
Tablet information:
model:A100
Android Version:3.2.1
Kernel Version:2.6.36.3
Build number: Acer_A100_2.007.04_COM_GEN1
and yes I am sure I entered the write name for the rar file, and I am sure I am pressing the right buttons
Any advice ?
Can you try with another mSD?
You can also try to format mSD with SDformatter.
Or try to download the .zip again.

Maybe if you changed it from a rar file to zip, that would be the solution. I've seen a number of users who have had issues with the naming convention. What I did was to download the file, and rename it to "update". Do not add a "zip" extension when naming the file. Once that has been accomplished, it should work as a normal update. Good luck.

Well originally when I downloaded the file , the format was .zip so I don't think that the file is rar with just changed extension.
Tried with others update and the result are the same ,sd is not working too I don't think that the file is the problem, because while I downloaded it two days ago ,it's download without any error or problems

You may need to try a different micro sd card. See if you can borrow one if you don't have a spare. I have heard of issues with larger cards, and the smaller ones seem to work most of the time. If possible format the card (fat 32) prior to putting the update file on it.

Well, I've never used an update.rar file. All of mine have been update.zip. That is most likely your problem.

Hello.
It has been mentioned in a number of reviews of the P6 that there is a selection of a large number of themes for the device. Does anyone know where this is and/or how to get these themes?
I rather like the default dark brushed aluminium theme myself, but I wouldn't mind having a look at some of these other themes...
http://zh.ui.vmall.com/theme.php?mod=list&display=1&model=P6&version=EMUI1.5&last_select=model
Here you can download themes. If they are downloaded in .zip format just change the extension to .hwt
Then move this file to HWThemes on your sdcard. The theme should be automatically recognised now.
http://4pda.ru/forum/index.php?showtopic=460773&st=540#entry23766470
Need a root explorer+sqlite editor (like SQLite editor)
Go to /data/user/0/com.android.providers.settings/databases/ and execute settings.db , enter systemex and search theme_no_online, change false for true
Now, you can download online themes
but are these themes in english or chinese?
There are in your system language

Enormous thanks for that, I'm downloading a few right now...
Do not text edit the .db file. It caused mine to boot loop.
Luckily deleting the file in recovery mode with adb worked.
Bootloops with non-removable battery is no fun

to do this does my phone need to be rooted or anything?
really not looking to cause problems with the phone. would rather keep one of the default themes than try to get a new one and f*ck up the phone. (i'm not all tech so would have no idea how to fix it)

No, root is not required to do this. Just connect the phone to USB using MTP and transfer the .hwt file to the folder HWThemes.

i downloaded the theme i wanted from that webiste and it was .hwt format
i connected my p6 using mtp opened the folder HWThemes then there are 2 folders .cache and Diytheme
i tried placing the .hwt file outside these 2 subfolders but within the main HWThemes folder
i tried placing it in the Diytheme folder
then there are 3 folders named "audio" "preview" and "wallpaper" in the .cache folder - i put the .hwt theme in the.cache folder but left it outside these subsubfolders. i also tried putting in in the preview folder
anyway the device didnt pick it up on ANY of the occasions (unless i have to reboot? for it to recognise)
(each time i deleted it from the previous folder before placing it in the new one so that the .hwt file was only present once)
also there are 2 files in the main HWThemes folder called "unzippedpackagelist.serv" and "installedwallpaperlist.serv" - idk what there purpose is.

Yes u can ! Just download firmware from here :http://www.huaweiblog.de/firmware/huawei-ascend-p6-firmware-leak-b118/
When u will unzip the downloaded file u will find a folder "dload" having update.app in it. Just paste the "dload" folder on sd card. Now go to settings>about phone>system update>local update>confirm....it will then install firmware.
Ur phone battery should be abt 80% and backup ur data if it wipes ur data. U dont need root to install this. :highfive:
Hey!
I have a Huawei Ascend p6 which is stuck at the boot screen with no custom recovery installed.
I have an sd card with a new firmware, but everytime i try to flash a .zip the phone says:
E:signature varification failed
Installation aborted.
Does anyone now what to do? Please help.
Since its stock recovery that you have on the phone tou must update it eith putting an update.app file inside a folder named dload on your external memory card and booting the phone by presing volume up&down simultaneously and letting it finish the update.

What kind of update.app?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2566453
On this page you can find the links and explanations on how to do everything you need to do. The update.app file can be downloaded from the stock rom sections, you have links for international P6-U06 like B111 up to B132, they are zip archives containig the dload folder in wich is the update.app file just extract it from the zip and put it on your sd card as it is(folder dload/update.app)

Hello,
My huawei p6(international version) failed to update to KK 4.4 from B132 JB 4.2.2.
Here's the reason:
E:Error executing updater binary in zip/external??
Error flashing zip ' /external_sd/dload/B510.zip'
FAILED
Anyone had this issue ?
I'v tried all the options what are around the web.
Any other suggestions?
You can't flash official rom in zip file.Unpack zip, folder dload copy to ext. card and than flash rom with stock recovery.

Also i tried trough Huaweis suite and it tells me an error like this"Unable to unzip zip" on every firmware i try.

It seems like you've put the zip file directly into your SD card, you have to extract the folder named "dload" and then put it in the root directory of the SD card.

Where in your SD card are you putting the dload folder with the update.app file?
So you have to rename B510.zip to update.zip and then put the zip onto your sd card in a folder called dload, after that just use local update or force update via the three button method.

I'm no expert, but I think he has to unpack the update.app file, put it inside a folder named "dload" and then move that folder into the root directory of the SD card. I don't think the system can read the zip file directly.

Normally this would be right but it's an OTA update so it has to be a zip.
