okay guys this is my first android phone, first time rooting, first time for all of it basically.
i have a galaxy s3 i747m that i managed to root already. now i downloaded a ROM that i want and using android file exchange( I AM ON A MAC MAYBE MY PROBLEM?)
so i found the file on my mac, opended file exchange, put the file on my SD card.
now when i go into ROM manager i go to "install ROM from SD card" but it shows me everything thats on my phone not my SD card....i looked everywhere but the file is not there and i cant figure out why its doing this.
so i thought maybe if i save it to my phone i can find it,so i did that and i found the ROM file, but now when i open the file it just shows me
META-INF/ and system/ but on my computer it shows me something called BOOT.IMG.
im guessing this is the part of the file i need since nothing else works?
let me know guys im stuck, and sorry for the long post.
thanks guys!

DON'T touch this boot.img you taklking about.
Can you cannect phone by USB to your mac? ( sorry i'm PC guy). If you do just go open your phone with explorer in you mac then create folder on SD card "ROMS" in example , copy downloaded rom from your mac to phone this way you will know where it is. Now if you did not install CWM (clockwork mod recovery) install one from Rom Manager and reboot in it. Choose install from card and find roms folder you created and rom you copied in to folder choose this rom. Now follow instruction.
BTW. Before you start flashing roms READ more anthill you sure you know how is done for 100%. There are so many info how this should be done. READ this first :http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1725839 Twice if you have to.
Good luck

But the wierd thing is that i have the superuser icon on my phone. I did everything wright. I downloaded the update zip file, i copyed the zip file to my sd card. And then i went in recovery menu, update from sd card and selected the update zip file. So how is it possible that i dont have any root access with link2sd?

So I have seen many people trying to edit the build.prop to get small arrow that makes navigation bar appear/disappear. Many people sometimes brick their phone in trying to do so. Some people don't root their phone to avoid voiding their warranty.
SO here is quick solution for the problem
1.Download the attached zip. and unzip it.
2.You will find a folder HuaweiBackup after unzipping.
3.Now put this folder in your sdcard or internal storage.
4.Open Huawei backup software.
5.Select restore from sd card.
6.U will see an option of restore having only settings.
7.Press it And U will see the small arrow on Navigation bar.
Please Tell If This Method Works. Hope it Helps.

I have used both, and funny it is, both recoverys show the same error. I just flashed TWRP and tought it might give me a better answer.
Also i tried trough Huaweis suite and it tells me an error like this"Unable to unzip zip" on every firmware i try.

file_getprop:failed to stat "/system/build.prop":No such file or directory

It seems like you've put the zip file directly into your SD card, you have to extract the folder named "dload" and then put it in the root directory of the SD card.

Where in your SD card are you putting the dload folder with the update.app file?
So you have to rename B510.zip to update.zip and then put the zip onto your sd card in a folder called dload, after that just use local update or force update via the three button method.

I'm no expert, but I think he has to unpack the update.app file, put it inside a folder named "dload" and then move that folder into the root directory of the SD card. I don't think the system can read the zip file directly.

Normally this would be right but it's an OTA update so it has to be a zip.

Local upgrade method.
https://www.oneplus.com/uk/support/softwareupgrade/details?code=PM1574161738631
It's a regular update, so no.
Is there any reason that I can just directly download the zip file to my phone, instead of PC and transfer to the phone, as in the instructions below?
Thank you
How to upgrade system?
Download the software build for your device on this page. Please back up your data before flashing your device.
Plug your phone into your computer and copy the downloaded .zip to your phone’s storage. If you’re using a Mac, you can install Android File Transfer Android File Transfer for this operation.
After the .zip file is copied to your phone, go to 'Settings' - 'system update', click the 'settings' icon on the top right corner, choose 'Local upgrade', find the .zip file and click on 'Install' to confirm.
The update takes about a minute (depending upon the file size), once done reboot your device to boot into the latest Oxygen OS.

You can download directly in your phone, and place it in root of sdcard.
Also be sure the file ends with a .zip extension.
So I downloaded it, it was a jar, so I extracted it and put it in the root of my sdcard. When I try to do local upgrade, it says, "Move installation file into root directory." I moved the jar file as well, and it does not detect it.

I use it to notify me when an update is available and to handle the download. After that I switch to the system updater to perform the local upgrade.
