So I have seen many people trying to edit the build.prop to get small arrow that makes navigation bar appear/disappear. Many people sometimes brick their phone in trying to do so. Some people don't root their phone to avoid voiding their warranty.
SO here is quick solution for the problem
1.Download the attached zip. and unzip it.
2.You will find a folder HuaweiBackup after unzipping.
3.Now put this folder in your sdcard or internal storage.
4.Open Huawei backup software.
5.Select restore from sd card.
6.U will see an option of restore having only settings.
7.Press it And U will see the small arrow on Navigation bar.
Please Tell If This Method Works. Hope it Helps.

Hi
Do you have to buy rootexplorer from the market?
Got as far as cm7 so far
You can use free root explorers like Yaffs Explorer made by one of Defy CM7 devs, or Super Manager. Both are available for free on Android Market.
Hi ok downloaded yaffs.
Download the software and put the system folder into my root of the sd card what do I do next?
Can anyone help still stuck....
Hi mate. You need to put them in the system on your phone not SD card. Put them in the directories exactly the same as the zip file. Ie copy paste to those directories

Thanks for that !
However still not working I open the system file on my sd card , copy bootmenue file, then go to system on phone then mark the original bootmenue file and paste , did that for both files but still asking me for a code to use another sim card !
What I did was copying just the specific files inside of the folders:
init.mapphone_umts from 2nd-init from bootmenu
and
bp_ptc from bin
Now make sure to press Mount R/W in the top of the android file system.
Hope it helps...
dealstokie I suggest to wait someone more experienced to do it and test it otherwise you might softbrick your Defy. Meanwhile you can look for alternate (not free) methods to unlock your Defy as this might be cheaper than buying a new Defy.
I'm lucky and I have an unlocked Defy therefore I'm not so eager to try it, but maybe you are lucky too and there will be someone brave enough to do it.

Ok swapping is easier in manual mode so you have to follow the steps correctly
Before we start i just want to warn you all you apps which are installed on your sdcard must be moved to internal phone memory or they will be lost after swapping.
1- get a file explorer that has a build-in text editor and could use root.(i prefer es file explorer)
2-go to /system/etc and open "vold.fstab". And open it in your text editor.
3-ONLY swap the word "sdcard" with the word "external_sd" as i wi show you in these attachments.
4-reboot (i make a fix permissions before it) and enjoy.

Hi! friends do you know?you are able to hide a folder from anyone without using any softs or apps.It can possible with your android's file manager;which are almost inbuilted in your phone.Just follw the easy steps to hide a folder with it's contains.
»»INSTRUCTION:
First open your phone's file manager, then choose the folder you want to hide.Next just RENAME the target folder you want to hide, just give a 'dot'(.) on before the name of the folder, and see the magic...BRAVO!!! folder was hidden successfully. To view the hidden folder, just go to the settings of your file manager and select "SHOW HIDDEN FOLDERS/ITEMS",then the folder appears;to hide it again just unselect "SHOW HIDDEN FOLDERS/ITEMS",the folder will be hides again.
If you have a bit problem with understanding the method, just see the example bellow-
»EXAMPLE:
Here "PROJECT" is a target folder which i want to hide.Just rename this folder from "PROJECT" to ".PROJECT".The folder will automatically hides.
»NOTES::
If your folder does not hiddening, then please check your file manager settings options to view hidden items. If this option is at 'on' mode so please 'off' the option to hide your folder. Then it works fine.

Nice idea. I don't mean to be a spoil-sport, or a smart-ass.... But here goes...
Either that, or you can wear your geek glasses and do the following (root required).
1. Get Root Explorer or a similar app.
2. Browse to /data or /system or the root / or any other folder you like. But make sure you have got some free space left.
3. Mount R/W
4. Create a folder in any name you like. Let's say rktcool.
5. Put your contents in there.
6. ta da! You are done.
Now, your data is relatively more secure
If you want further security, backup Root Explorer using appSaver, or something similar, and then uninstall it. Now, the stock file managers can only browse your sdcard, and you have to install it (Root Explorer) again to be able to view your hidden files...
Pardon me OP, but I just happened to think about this one. Sorry for messing up your thread

I think the data being lost during a firmware flash is not much of an issue. It is same as an sdcard - you will always have a backup when you are going to format it.
I meant /system as an example. If that causes any problem, there are always other folders out there like /data where applications you install on your internal memory go. You could keep your files there and install apps on sdcard always.
Better still, you could partition your sdcard, and store your secret files in the second partition, so that they are not even accessible by the normal file managers!
