Thanks BTW bro. I have a doubt regarding this bootanimation stuff. When I unzip the bootanimation.zip file, i see folders like part0, part1, part2,etc which contains png images of the ultimate boot animation (even in the zip file u gave). And I've seen in other zip files where there are no png images but instead an mp4 file of the boot animation. The zip files containing mp4 files doesn't work on my phone. Do you know anything about this? Please help.

Bootanimation .7z

So i've just recieved a new boot animation from my friend and it is a .7z file type and I've only ever played around with .zip file types. how do I go about getting this one to work? do I rename it .zip? flash it?
He probably just compressed the zip file using 7-zip due to it's superior compression.

[Q] Make a BootAnimation

Hi, everybody....
I've just edit a bootanimation.zip file, but It doesn't work. I use Nexus Prime bootanimation.zip, then I open it with WinRAR. I replace all *.jpg files that comes with Nexus prime bootanimation file by drag N drop several image file with .jpg extension. I also make sure that the file's name is same with Nexus Prime image.
After replacing, I send the new bootanimation to SD card, moving it to System/Media by using Root Explore, then Reboot my phone...
But, I don't see bootanimation while the phone's wake up...
Any solution??
Is the compression the same as the originals?

Emmm.... I don't know about that... I've just replace the original image files with mine... Then just click "Ok". Am I wrong??
Hurm.
open original bootanimation using winrar,
make sure the file name and resolution that you are using same as the original inside the zip.
Now just drag and drop your file to the bootanimation.zip, it will overwrite the original file inside the. Zip.
Close zip and copy to sd, and place it in the right place. Set the permission if im not mistaken 6-4-4 or rw-r--r-- .
Now reboot and see if it boot using you custom animation.
But aren't bootanimation only in. Png format??

Hai Nujhum... Yeah, right... I've done it before... Same with what you say...
Maybe try using something like 7-zip. I know for fact that WinRar sometimes changes something in the header of the file and even though it's ZIP file not all un-zip utilities can extract it.

What are you talking about? The files don't come in *.bin format, they come in .qmg format
I would upload it for you, but idk what package it was that I froze and broke Dropbox...
Just use winzip, 7zip or jzip and open the stock ROM package, Navigate to system\media and extract your .qmg files you need.

Ok fellas....for the ones who cant get this to work by flashing I will tell you how to get it to work. Very simple...
You need to open the zip. With either 7Zip on your pc OR a file manager like FX with root permission.
After you open the zip there is 2 files. You want to open the one named system. Inside that file is a media folder. Open that folder...
Now you should see 2 qmg files. You want to take those 2 files and replace the current ones you have now.
Go to system/media. Copy the 2 new files from the zip and replace the ones in system/media.
Reboot and your done.

Alternative workaround to pursue: there is a way to use regular boot animation zip files instead of samsungs qmg. You've got to research this i dont do it myself. I just saw it somewhere. This way might suit you better.
Is there a way to do the opposite? To turn a qmg into png files?

To the best of my knowledge you would need proprietary Samsung software to modify .QMG file. Your best bet is to find a kernel or ROM with custom boot animation support and put the boot animation. Zip in the /system/media folder.

Hi mate.
Thanks for your advise. The ZIP file (folder system) have 4 .qmg files. I have copied all 4 files in the root\system\media and now the new bootanimation works perfect.
Cheers

There is a way to create a qmg from Android without a PC. I heard that there is an app called qmg boot animation maker that works

Custom boot animation

Hi, I'm new to Samsung devices. In my Sony, i just had to create a ziped folder named bootanimation.zip with the part0 and part1 folders with the intro and looped intro images, respectively, and a txt named desc with the resolution and speed. With root explorer I was able to change the system boot animation into any custom one I wanted.
Now, I see that Samsung uses a .qmg file and both parts (intro and looped) are different files. I already changed my images to the device resolution and got them numbered on their names. My question is, how do I change the .zip folders with the images into .qmg ones? I searched for tutorials, but all of them were very old and wanted me to use WSamsung Theme Designer, but I don't think this is supported anymore.
So, how can I turn this images into a boot animation for my Galaxy S20+??
a zip file is an archive its used to compress and store files so you cannot turn a zip into a qmg file.. if u mean take a bootanimation.zip and use the boot ani inside the zip on ur device then try extracting the zip or flashing it.. if the animations are not in qmg format then u need to convert them.. this is assuming ur rooted and unlocked of course.. if not then u cant change ur bootani to begin with

Yes, I meant changing the images inside the .zip file into the proper .qmg file. I don't know what kind of file is .qmg, so I didn't know if images could be converted into that. Anyway, what I mean is, how can I use the boot animation (images) that I used in my .zip file as the boot animation for the Galaxy s20+?
And yes, my phone is rooted and unlocked. Could you provide a guide or link?
