Chrome Crash

Hello,
I'm not sure if this is related to the GPS issue or the recent update, but my Chrome Browser stopped working. Every time I launch it it crashes within a few seconds without any FC dialogue.
My GPS works fine so I don't understand what's going on.
Has this been reported?

I'd try wiping cache and data for Chrome. I don't have this issue, and I haven't seen it reported by anyone else.

Yeah I have a similar set up on 15J, my Chrome does crash very frequently on certain pages. I noticed in CatLog it has something to do with Java. I suspect (although cannot confirm yet) it's related to Xposed Framework as it happened after I got it running on my device (or a module installed with Xposed).
For a temporary work-around I've been using Dolphin Browser with minimal usage issues.

Thanks for your reply. Great to hear it not stock issue rather a modification.
Hopefully, Xposed Framework gets updated soon, but I'm wondering why my N4 is not affected of that is case.

Maybe it's just something we have with our tablets. I wouldn't immediately point fingers at Xposed but that was just a correlation for me. I've just been too lazy to make a Nandroid backup, uninstall and completely remove Xposed and all of the modules, just to figure out if it was Xposed.
I would test it out before you say this is the plausible cause.
However, I find that my issue may be related to XPrivacy more, but I need to test it some more to confirm

I can confirm myself Xposed was the culprit. I was using version 2.1.4 and had upgraded to the latest '2.2' which had many bug fixes and updated 'XposedBridge.jar'.

For those of you taking the Lollipop update, there is an app in the playstore that enables all apps for Lollipop. It is also the only one I know of to work with Android L at the moment. Of course, this is unless any Devs here eventually modify the Lollipop UI on their own custom roms.

After download.......grant SU, select apps, save and reboot. It's that simple. The difference is that NOW your MW will be on the right side with no thumb/arrow pull. You will have to double tap the back button to use. I'm not sure if this was a patent issue with Samsung, but it works.

Yeah. I guess I typed that wrong. I meant that the devs on XDA have the ability to break down the UI to implement their own mods.
I multi-task with my phone, hence needing multiwindow. This app thankfully gives the solution "now". Great stuff.

What I do see is you quoting an Exynos version of your phones. Am I correct? There MAY be issues on International versions, as we here are on the Sprint(P) variant. I do know that not ALL phones will work with this app.
Are both of you rooted and on stock Touchwiz?
There was also an issue with the latest update as stated by the developer. Perhaps a simple clear of data and cache will solve this issue.

I am on stock rooted TouchWiz on the international version of the Tab S. 10.5. Clear of cache and data and multiple reboots have not helped.

Have you tried contacting the developer?
Can you open the app itself at all?
I fear that your tablet MAY not be compatible, although some comments in the play store section seem to suggest otherwise. The developer states that the app fits all Galaxy series phones, and most galaxy tablets with KitKat or Lollipop. I'm sure there are exceptions.
I've attached my screenshots so you can see what you SHOULD have. If you can not even open the app itself to select the apps that you want, there's a bigger issue. Perhaps even try reinstalling altogether.

In read in the reviews section of the Play Store that a Tab S user is having no issues with the app. I have tried reinstalling multiple times. I open the app. The loading message is displayed and the app closes within a second. And that keeps happening every time I open the app.

Yes. I have also seen that some Tab users have had success. Did you get the initial request for root? If you haven't, there is your first problem.

The first time I installed, I did which was followed by the app closing. I reinstalled and I stopped getting the root request dialogue. Root is working as other apps are actively using root and requesting for it.

At this point, I would just contact the developer by clicking the email link in the playstore.

help please.. n910c android 5.1.1 auto crash..

Im having the same problem with mw commander. It will open and immediately close. Im on ironrom tab s 10.5 (t800). Any known solutions yet?

For those of you with FC's.....
I found that once I uninstalled the app, all my apps were still enabled when I was on stock DeOdexed OA6. But of course, I am no longer on a stock rom.

S6 Edge + supports MultiWindow, why is it that I don't see the app I'm the Play Store app but I can follow the link, then I can see it but with a message - Your device isn't compatible. wtf?! been using it for years and now it's not cpmpitable on the device with MultiWindow support.

Marshmallow is supported by the app. Even if you side load the apk it will just open then immediately close. Xposed with Xtouchwiz module is the only way to go rightnow bro.

Unfortunately, Google play services has stopped

I'm trying to determine whether google play services stops because of the ROM or because of xposed mods I'm using. Its happening frequently but doesn't really affect much. There's no apps crashing. Its just mildly annoying needing to dismiss the message.
Are others experiencing this? Thought it might be the app amplify so I disabled it but the message still appears. Right now my mods areEnable call recording in CM, xposed torch, greenify, and YouTube adaway.

No, you're not the only one having that issue. In the CM11 for Fire Phone thread you can see people were reporting it. At least for now, since the ROM is beta, we can't expect it to work flawlessly.
P.S.: For the next threads you open in this forum, for Fire Phone or for any other device, it'd be better if you specify if you're rooted and if you used a custom ROM. Otherwise it could cause confusion. Someone reading this question could think stock FireOS has these issues.

Need root for xposed. I was gonna say xposed wouldn't work on fire os but I actually do use it on fire TV so I know that's probably not true. But you're right. Next time I'll give more details.
Beta is typically prone to bugs but I didn't get the "stopped working" message until last note, after activating xposed. Even that's not a clear cut trouble shoot because I've had ROMs run problem free for days then issues arise.
But overall, I am extremely pleased with CM 11! everything I use is working great.
On a side, off topic note, anyone found a way to install milk music on this?

That's weird. I'm using CM11 too, rooted and with Xposed and I don't get the "stopped working" notification. Maybe it's another thing. I remember that when I installed the Android Wear app Google Play Services crashed every 2 seconds (no joke, and no fun).
And about Milk Music, isn't that like asking for Live on YouTube - By Xperia™ to be available on non-Sony phones?

There's an xposed mod called chocolate milk that enables milk to run on many devices but far as I can see its a little dated and not sure which version works (the newest apk from playstore does not install),or if its even supported anymore. Not something I need but trying some new things.
Edit--actually I'm not 100% on the play store apk because I couldn't get apk downloader to fetch it on my Mac. I did pull a couple from other sources and those didn't work.

Oops- this was supposed to be for Milk Music install. Sorry guys!0 uhhh...Nevermind. I'm good.

The apk's did install, I was able to open the milk app, but no sound would play and it prompted that this version was no longer supported and to download the newest version from the play store. This might work for anyone om CM 11, but I couldn't get to the play store to update, it always links you to amazon store. When I opened the play store it wouldn't show to download. There are tricks to change build props with root explorer if you google it. I am not rooted yet so I can''t give it a try. If you click a blank spot the pop up would go away, but the sound wouldn't play.

I use a corporate email client called, Good for Enterprise for my work email. This app of course cannot be used on Rooted devices. For this, an Xposed module was written over a year ago, and then the developer stopped his development. This module (v3.5) worked with Good for Enterprise (v2.7.1.390) for me for over a year, for several devices, until my G4 (H810l), which crashes the Good app with a (Unfortunately, Good has stopped working message)... I am thinking it *could* be because G4 is the first phone I am using with a 64bit processor.
The developers are unresponsive on this to help me, which means that if it's the phone, I'd need to go to another phone, but I need help from my fellow G4 users. Could you please use the Google Drive link below:
1. Download the APK for the security patch and the Good app.
2. Install the security patch, activate it in Xposed, and reboot
3. Install the Good app, and launch it
4. Report what happens

Yes sir, I am rooted, otherwise I wouldn't have Xposed or need this module. It used to work like a charm on every other phone. Do you have Xposed? Can you please help me test this?

Hey man, so I tested this out and I think the problem is the patcher module. Try disabling it and getting the RootCloak module. Enable it, then clear cache and data of the Good app and reboot.
If superuser asked you for permission before (it did for me) and you allowed or denied the request, you'll have to delete it from the SU app.
I can get to the screen where it asks for email and pin doing that. Not sure if it'll actually let you log in though.
Edit: Just saw your other post where RootCloak didn't work. Not sure what else you could do.

Hey buddy! Good to see you on this forum, and coming out to help! :good:!
Yes, asking for the Root permission is normal for the module, because version 2.7.1.390 was also checking for Xposed I think. I can't get rid of the module, because I need it to run Good.
Can you confirm that you did see the same exact outcome as I did with the module installed? That is, Good crashing, after getting the super user permissions? If so, are you on Xposed version v74? If so, it seems like the module may have run it's life on a 64bit architecture, without any updates from the original devs. I am wishing so bad and messaged @Phantasm4489 to see if he would get involved again. No response yet :'(!
As you read in the RootCloak thread, RC fails Good too :'(. But the developer is at least working on that one, so who knows?
I still request my other LG G4 friends to please test this for me for 5 minutes of their time, I would really appreciate it. If we get enough reports like mine, I think the next step to confirm a 64bit issue would be to see if others on phones like M9, ZenFone2, and Galaxies are seeing the same thing.

Phone app won't wake screen!!!!

This is driving me crazy!!!
When my phone is off sitting on a table and it rings, the screen does not come on. Just sound. I thought it was the theme, so I removed it from the dialer app and that didnt help. I removed the update in the Playstore and the screen comes on again when it rings. I removed auto update for the app, but what could be the reason the updated app isn't working for me?

Stock dialer or a custom app from app store?

Your issue has been reported by several others as well. They are doing the same thing you are to make it work. Would recommend you log complaint on play store under the phone app and see what happens. I truly think Google does this to jack with the themeers!

Stock, but I can't take it anymore, so I removed the update and installed Simpler dialer. I can't even disable the stock dialer or the screen won't come on. It's just been removed as default at this point.

I just read reviews for the app and tons of people are reporting it. What a joke!!!

I don't know if this will help or not, but a couple weeks or so ago, the Google phone app was giving me trouble with themeing. It was due to the fact that the theme was actually ahead of the Google update(go figure). So another user figured it out and linked me to the phone app on apk mirror. So I uninstalled the phone app, downloaded the apk mirror version from December 14th, installed it, and it worked great with my theme. What's more is that even after the update from Google, I'm not having the issue that you are, or many others for that matter. Here's the link if you want to give it a go. Can't promise anything, but what the heck :good:

I uninstalled it using my root explorer. I just delete the apk, reboot, and gone. Have to be rooted though. If nothing else, just install the apk, then if you wind up with 2 phone apps, just disable or freeze the bad one. Or, just do what your currently doing. The updates aren't that big a deal anyways :good:

Figured it was a root thing. I can't root my phone due to work email MDM detecting it and harassing me. Going to try your suggestion. Much appreciated

Just tried it. Once I apply theme, phone won't light up. Deleted 3rd party dialer, removed theme from dialer you provided. Now I'm using the Google dialer you gave me in stock white blinding form. A bit pissed...

I have the same issue. In my case I have a gear s3, and if I disconnect the bluetooth, when the call is coming the screen turn up normally, but if the gear is connected, the screen stays black..Additional, when you take a call or do a call, the sound automatically is route to the bluetooth device, I have to habilitate the sound in the phone manually. I think it was with the January update or the phone app last update, because other people have the same issue in their android devices. The solution for now is go to Play Store, search Phone app for Google, uninstall the updates, then go to settings in the phone - Apps - Phone, and clear the cache and data, force stop of the app. The phone app come back to another version (12.1...) which doesn't have this issue, after that the calls working normally. I hope for a fix from Google...
