Xposed Users - Can you please test this module for me? - G4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear Fellow LG G4 users, I need your help. Especially if you are using Xposed, I can really, really use your help! It shouldn't take more than a reboot and 5 minutes of your time, I would deeply appreciate it!
I use a corporate email client called, Good for Enterprise for my work email. This app of course cannot be used on Rooted devices. For this, an Xposed module was written over a year ago, and then the developer stopped his development. This module (v3.5) worked with Good for Enterprise (v2.7.1.390) for me for over a year, for several devices, until my G4 (H810l), which crashes the Good app with a (Unfortunately, Good has stopped working message)... I am thinking it *could* be because G4 is the first phone I am using with a 64bit processor.
The developers are unresponsive on this to help me, which means that if it's the phone, I'd need to go to another phone, but I need help from my fellow G4 users. Could you please use the Google Drive link below:
1. Download the APK for the security patch and the Good app.
2. Install the security patch, activate it in Xposed, and reboot
3. Install the Good app, and launch it
4. Report what happens
5. Uninstall everything and delete files, if you like
Googe Drive Link:

I would DEEPLY, DEEPLY appreciate ANY help guys! Please spare two minutes of your time if you could please ?? Thank you!

May or may not be because of processor, but I'm assuming it's not because you're rooted?

Yes sir, I am rooted, otherwise I wouldn't have Xposed or need this module. It used to work like a charm on every other phone. Do you have Xposed? Can you please help me test this?
Thank you again!

Come on my G4 brothers and sisters! I know we all love our Xposed here, 85 views and 0 people willing to spare 5 minutes? Come on, friends, we're nicer than that around here, aren't we ?
Thank you in advance for the kind ones!

Hey man, so I tested this out and I think the problem is the patcher module. Try disabling it and getting the RootCloak module. Enable it, then clear cache and data of the Good app and reboot.
If superuser asked you for permission before (it did for me) and you allowed or denied the request, you'll have to delete it from the SU app.
I can get to the screen where it asks for email and pin doing that. Not sure if it'll actually let you log in though.
Edit: Just saw your other post where RootCloak didn't work. Not sure what else you could do.

Hey buddy! Good to see you on this forum, and coming out to help! :good:!
Yes, asking for the Root permission is normal for the module, because version 2.7.1.390 was also checking for Xposed I think. I can't get rid of the module, because I need it to run Good.
Can you confirm that you did see the same exact outcome as I did with the module installed? That is, Good crashing, after getting the super user permissions? If so, are you on Xposed version v74? If so, it seems like the module may have run it's life on a 64bit architecture, without any updates from the original devs. I am wishing so bad and messaged @Phantasm4489 to see if he would get involved again. No response yet :'(!
As you read in the RootCloak thread, RC fails Good too :'(. But the developer is at least working on that one, so who knows?
I still request my other LG G4 friends to please test this for me for 5 minutes of their time, I would really appreciate it. If we get enough reports like mine, I think the next step to confirm a 64bit issue would be to see if others on phones like M9, ZenFone2, and Galaxies are seeing the same thing.
In the meanwhile, I appreciate this test/help so, so, so much @Nowak4G!

[Q] Your Thoughts On Apps & Their Permissions

G'Day,
To make a long story short.. I was wondering if there were applications that can actually seek out and tell you what permissions other applications that you installed on your phone are asking for, and then ask you if you would like to modify or deny certain permissions within that application you have on your phone? (I know Android tells you the permissions by default..lol)
I was reading on paranoid android how android works and how it all fits to different files .. with this in mind.. I also noticed that some applications you see posted on google play, seek extreme permissions.. (for example to be able to send text on your mobile ect.. or to find other known accounts on your phone)
This kind of thing concerns me as I dont like other information to be known to others ect. .specially if you use for phone for transactions like google play and email accounts.. Hence the question above.
If no one knows of any..an application that can change the permissions of an app without interfering with the normal running of a game or program on the phone, does anyone know of someone that might be willing to make something like that?..
What are your thoughts on that?
If you have the Xposed Framework installed, the Xprivacy module for said framework will tell you what you want -- every permission used by a given app -- and let you selectively disable those you don't want.

Thanks for that, I am looking to Flash the galaxy s2 more so, to start learning more about smart phones.
The Jellybean 4.1.2 that i have on the S2 gets social hub errors and becomes unresponsive sometimes. so was looking at playing around with it and trying paranoid android or something else and then try that xposed framework..
Thanks again for that.. am looking into it. :good:

Package Disabler

For those of us not willing to root right now, I have to say using package disabler to turn off CleanMaster, S-Voice and S-Finder have done wonders in the last 48 hours for making this phone just as responsive as my 2014 Moto X was. I've been close to biting the bullet and trading it in for almost anything else, and this may have changed my mind.
Where would I find package disabler

samsung made the developer to remove it
now I can't find it anywhere
fXck samsung
Try googling it and selecting the play store link..I was able to download it that way....
Verification is failing
Wow I can confirm. Worked fine before and now it doesn't work. Doesn't even let me active the pack disabled anymore. Smh.
What do I do about the apps I disabled?
Doesn't work, License server error before program starts.
Also very dangerous tool as it needs internet to work.
If you by misstake disable something that has to do with connectivity you will end up having to do a factory restore !!
If you by misstake installed this crap onto your device, you might notice that the de-install option is greyed out, don't panic.
Go into the security section and de-select the app under device administrators.
Now it can be de-installed.
Here's a much better and SAFER alternative:

Doesn't work and useless unless the internet dependency is removed.
Usually these kind of apps are being offered for free at XDA forums, but there's always somebody who's trying to
turn it into a buck, totally disregarding the people who d/l this and softbrick their phones...
Also the whole purpose and usefulness of the tool is defeated if you need internet access to d/l and use it.
Reason being the phone fills up with crap, the same second you connect it to the internet the first time.
You want to run a tool like this before, not giving the phone a chance to fill up with junk/updates.
Especially important is this in regards to OTA.
Disabled junk is still junk eating precious space on your mobile.
Package Disabler works fine on S6 5.1.1 Stock without root

It only needs internet connection the first time by instaling procees, because the licence activation only works with internet. Once its activated it Work´s well
The server is very busy so it could mbe that you have to wait till all is fine again.
Im using it with my Galaxy S6 Stock not rooted 5.1.1 and i have disabled most of the system app
It´s easy to use and easy no enable again

I am not sure what you are saying about this app is correct! in Android please tell me which app do not require internet, and accessing internet is dangers then all apps in play store is dangerous. Debloater do not give any recombination for which packages to disable, if you disable system packages with Debloater the only option left is factory reset (I have to factory reset my Note 3 after using Debloater)
Pacakge Disabler is back
I found the paid version is back and working search for package disabler pro on the play store.
so any list of things we can disable to speed up this phone, touchwiz is really laggy after a few minutes of use

Package disabler has a disabler all bloatware option . it will remove 100+ apps . that you did not know existed on your device.
There is also coding to identify bloatwares. It will double your speed.

i haven't root my S6 edge and don't really want to yet. so i was looking for something like this.
yeah i debloated it with a few app i actually use, great thing about this app is that it shows you which app are "confirmed" safe to deblot. it actually debloted automatically like 140things from my system.
where can i get those codes i don't se it in any of the setting?
i was about to give up on touchwiz and this galaxy s6, since i got it touchwiz has been hell with the reloading of widget and icons, clear cache and data help but a few hours later the slowness would returned ( i already exchanged devices 4 times for other reason and all of them had the same problem), also phone would get hot, sometimes pretty darn hot.
This app has solve all problem (also a different launcher like nova solved it) but using touchwiz and this debloted app have giving me more battery life, super fast device, no more reloading, and it never heats up.
i for one would like to have a device from samsung that i would not have to deblot to get a lag free experience. i believe the only device i have never root from samsung was the note 3 which ran like a champ always.

About time someone thought about security. That program is being used a lot on the note 5 forum. I find it to be potentially a huge security issue. I initially downloaded it and installed. I later that about it. I just went ahead and factory reset. It has way too much access imo.

Google Phone with call blocking

I had been using the GPhone app that was provided by another dev, but it had a known issue where it wouldn't provide the call blocking/spam filtering features.
I recently ran across this article that shows a way to get these features working, and have the GPlay verison of the app download (and update) normally. I take no credit for the mod, but I did install it and it does work. I don't know if it call-blocks, but I guess I'll find out. I don't get many spam calls, but if someone else does please let us know that this sub-feature does work as intended.
Anyway, here's the article: https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...blocking-business-search-any-android-0192637/
Basically, it's a Magisk module that allows you to download the Play store app. It says that you have to install the app after installing the module, but I found this happened automatically... so maybe something changed on the backend?
In case the article disappears or something, the official project is here on GitHub: https://github.com/Magisk-Modules-Repo/GoogleDialerFramework
Just wanted to share this, as it seems to work... again, if anyone can confirm the call-blocking features, that would be great!

I had too many issues with Xposed in the past (on previous phones), which is why I stopped using it on this phone. I also did not know that such a framework existed and was the solution to the blocking capability. It makes sense that Xposed could do this, though, as you have said.
Does that mean you confirm that the framework fixes the ability to call-block/filter?

Thank you for this....I really very much appreciate it! Seems the most complicated tutorial/walkthrough than most others (simple magiskhide and/or modifying certain files...), but it seems most promising as well.
I just wanted to ask (specifically a person who has experience with this successfully and is possibly continuing doing this) if you do the monthly updates and if it resets everything and you have to edit a database file via SQL editor every single time? I, myself, imagine that if you do a Full Factory flash-all update, it would overwrite either the permissions and/or the .db file, but I wanted to confirm with someone else as I've already updated to the August security patch...
Thank you again for posting your response here and I look forward to seeing my GPay work in the stores!

I have not done any sql editing. I deleted the db file then made it read only on next reboot. When taking the monthly Q beta update, via flash-all without -w, I redid the fingerprint with magisk props module then added my card back in. I do get an error every once in awhile due to the db being only read only but Pay works.
I have no idea what will need to be done when Q is finalized.

I just wanted to come back here and give my thanks to this thread and specifically to alershka!
I was able to finally try and pay for something at a store front and was so happy (and shocked tbh) when it worked flawlessly! As I've mentioned before, I've tried many other methods and "workarounds" ranging from simple to complicated, and I have been successful from searching, finding, installing the app up to running it successfully without errors or blocks and even successfully loading credit cards and verification for "in-store purchases"! But, in the end, I would be able to get that far, but still not be able to make a purchase as the app would come out with an error; which was weird because the NFC would still detect and vibrate so the signal and data would exchange, but would be stopped on the app end...I actually ended up giving up using the app/feature for the last couple of months with the compromise of keeping rooted.
Now I can breathe easy and relax with the knowledge that this is an open option available to me when I need/want it.
Now, the only thing I'm wondering/curious about is, as I update by using the Full Factory image and the flash-all way, that this usually formats and resets system files and permissions and if I'm going to have to re-do this workaround method every single time; although, if that's the way it has to be, I'll be glad and more than willing to if it saves me this...
but GOD! sifting through the SQL trying to find "attest" and changing things to "0" is sooooo damn tedious...!!!
Anyways....this is so great and after a considerable amount of time I'm super happy for this!

Thanks for this! I hadn't read all of the thread and wasn't aware of the module that automates all of it by @73sydney! I'll consider utilizing it! Especially if it survives a Full Factory update and doing it manually wouldn't...
But, in the end, I don't mind that I did it manually; learned a considerable amount and, for all I know, it may be better or would work best if the module wouldn't work perfectly (maybe)...

Sadly the modules wont be accepted into the Magisk Repo as they "dont do enough" (i.e. theyre considered no more than doing system property edits, and do not do enough to warrant adding to the repo, i did try), so theyre not easy to find unless you do read the whole thread, someone mentions them, or you see the link in my signature ...

An app doesn't want to open since I rooted my phone

Hi guys,
I got a Poco X3 NFC and I hope you can help me.
I'm not on the Poco X3 NFC forum because I think this is related to the fact that I rooted my phone rather than my model.
I use an app called FreeStyle Librelink that is used to monitor my glucose level for my diabete using NFC and a sensor on my arm.
I read online that they locked the use of the app for rooted phone. (yeah, what a jerk move)
The app simply crash when I launch it. I tried to hide the root through the magisk app without success. Do you think there is a workaround for me or I have no other choice than unroot the phone ?
And I deeply hope that it's not the unlocked bootloader that is the source of the problem rather than the root itself. I have the classic method involving a drop of blood to test my sugar level but I will not give up the confort that this sensor is.
Thank you to anyone that can think of something.

You can send feedback about it. You can unroot mobile. You need to remove super user from sbin.
i had the same problem with my librelink app, the solution is open Magisk app and click Uninstall Magisk then once the device reboots, you can use the Librelink app as normal
reflash Magisk/install again with whatever modules you use
you need to uninstall Magisk each time you want to use the librelink app, hope this helps anybody
There's an easier fix that lets you keep root.
Go to magisk, shield icon, magiskhide and select librelink. Didn't need reboot.
