Hello,
a few days ago my Mi6 (4GB/64GB) upgraded to Pie (9.5.9 Beta) by OTA.
After that, the phone isnt smooth as in the past.
Sometimes starting apps from links while browsing - like ebay or amazon- fails.
Phone take little brakes.
Soundstreaming to a Bluetooth Soundbox is horrible, many little stops.
Does anyone has the same experience or issues after upgrading?
Best regards Christian
I always have this rule, if i upgrading. Example: from Android 8.0 to 9.0, then i doing full wipe, but older system leaves so many trash in system files.
I install 9.5.9 on my Mi6 128GB with MiFlash and dont have any problems, very stable rom, good battery performance.

Thanks mate. I will think about doing a full wipe. The battery performance is also not the best. Its not worse , but battery drain in oreo was much better.

Hi, does anyone know how to fix android system battery drain, i had this since i upgraded to android n and im on oxygen os 4.0.3
Nope.. How is your SoT? How much power does Android system consume? Mine is 403mAh after 4h SoT. As I can see it is not ridiculous high.

I also have the same issue. Since upgraing to nougat andeoid system drain has always been high even on custom roms although not as high as oos. And yeah based on my usage i too get an sot of 4 hours whereas i used to get 5 hours on similar usage on marshmallow.

Have you tried wiping caches? Letting battery go to absolute zero. Then charging without turning phone off?

I have no interest in doing any such maintenance things. Which is a strange thing to be saying on these boards, I know
I started having issues with the OS using an unusually high amount of power a week ago. I was using EX kernel and manager. I didn't change anything, but I don't morning my phone was noticeably warm and the battery was draining very quickly. I tried a few different OOS based rom/kernel combinations. Anytime I install a custom kernel or even any apps that provide kernel tweaking options (even if I never open them), the issues return. The small cores rarely dip below 1190 MHz and the big cores stay at 1478mhz or higher. It sleeps normally when the screen is off. The only way to get lower speeds with screen on is to set max lower than that, then they just stay maxed out and everything lags. I tried with fresh installs and even went back to ext4. It's strange, as I'd been using the same Experience rom/EX kernel setup for quite some time when the issue arose. Now I'm still on Experience, but with stock kernel and no tweaking apps, and I'm back to 5+hrs SOT.

So you'll complain but not do anything to try and fix it. All phones have problems eventually. Just like cars. They all require maintenance.

You expect aunts and uncles and mother and fathers to mess with wiping cache in their phones?
That's insane.
OP3 have themselves said "flagship killer" which means it0s intended for the same audience as GS7 and such phones. So no friking tinkering. it has to just work.
That being said, i'm still happy with my OP3 and Nougat overall. But battery life is somewhat worse.

I don't think it's insane. I know a lot of technologically capable older folk. They're definitely the minority xD but seriously, that does not change the fact you came on here, complained about batt life, see things that could improve it that are extremely simple, but won't do it. Leave the aunts and uncles out of you not wanting to do maintenance.
In my experience, I've seen every single phone had problems iPhones every generation, flagship Samsung DEFINITELY, ZTE, etc. I don't think any phone automatically "just works." At the same time, while my note 4 was running at an ambient temperature of 60°C on a daily basis, I've had friends who have faced identical problems and never had their phone get hot. No phone is perfect.
My mom jailbroke our iPhone 3 and 4. When we went to Android, she knew how root and remove bloatware a full year before i did. She's a City bus driver. So i don't think counting out my elders is quite fair. I was introduced to OnePlus by someone well over 55. Back when it was the invite system lol.
These experiences may or may not be considered anecdotal, but i am very happy to hear you still enjoy your OnePlus 3 man.
Hi guys,
Actually the battery life of my Mi 5s doesn't satisfy me.
Previously I owned a Mi 5, and battery life was better!
And this is uncommon, because Mi 5s should have a better battery life than Mi 5.
Also, phone is often hot.
I've tried many roms, nothing changed.
Anyone with the same issue?
In the beginning this was also the case for me, but after flashing newer firmware versions it got way better.
I think no because my friends buy new mi5s and he have very good battery life but my mi5 very bad battery life.
I have 4-5 s.o.t daily usage
My friend mi5s 6-7 s.o.t daily usage ( he and me same usage ) whatsapp browser camera ...

Which firmware are you using now? How about of Sot?
I don't know, sometimes I think my battery could be faulty.
Not sure about SOT, but it lasts the entire day without a problem under medium use with the screen on more often than most people do. So it will indeed be around the 7 hours like bugra333 says. I use the latest official LineageOS build.
The firmware is here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=72580452&postcount=663
/EDIT: Do also check if some app isn't draining your battery too much. Some bugs may cause this behaviour.
And with Miui do you have similar results?
Worse than currently, but not quite sure by how much.
Anyone else?
i have over 6 hours of sot on xiaomi eu rom, official miui, rr and mokee. official los gives just over 5 hours for me
My mi5s is the only Xiaomi to ever disappoint. The battery is so bad that i never take the phone out of the house. I use it mostly to run the incredible Xiaomi vacuum. As others have noted, the phone runs abnormally hot and that is a huge waste of power. Source of the power loss is unknown. Also, there isn't a Sim card in the phone, so it's not the radio. Global 9.5.2 makes no difference.
Hi,
as the title suggests this smartphone is currently my top pick, i have a tight budget (120 euros/140 dollars); and the Le pro 3 sits comfortably at 116 euros shipped.
Would you recommend it? I have zero experience with modding but i'd like to learn; are the chanches of hard bricking it (x722) high? I would not be able to replace it for while.
Thanks!
At this price you can't get any better.
A few phones at this range might have a bet camera and the official support is almost non-existent, but it's beautiful, well-constructed, has good battery, a good community and it's super fast and smooth. Is runs everything without lags and the processor is equivalent with the ones of iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7, 300€/400€ phones.
There are currently 13 Oreo ROMS for it and will surely be more, P included.
As long as you flash files compatible with x722, you will not brick it.
Normally, it costs 150€, so run for it. NOW!
P.S. I think you posted in the wrong place, maybe you can ask a moderator to move the topic.

My bad, i thought this was the right section, sorry.
It still worth it AS A FLAGSHIP.
why should be worth? you have a "OnePlus3" inside as hardware.
The right place would have been the questions and answers section.
Just make sure you use the ROMs for the x722 some are universal some are not if you stick with the le pro 3 elite x722 development section you'll be pretty safe as long as you're careful and read everything in the first post you should be OK just make sure and do a full backup in twrp and copy it to your PC in case of problems. If your unsure about something don't do it till you're certain you understand the guide. Good luck
Yes and no.
If you want a phone that just works then get something else. Yeah, the Le Pro 3 has better looks and internals than other phones but the software is never perfect.
Currently all Oreo Roms drain the battery pretty fast, battery life is still good but not outstanding anymore. Also there are always some other minor issues like a wonky signal, app crashes as so forth.
The Redmi Note 4 or Mi A1 are the obvious other choice. You're getting a more "stable" package but the phones don't feel as premium, the RN4 also has worse camera.

Ah ... bullcrap. What does it mean "Oreo..drain the battery pretty fast"?
In technical terms, I charge the battery in the range 20-85%, and this delta of 65% = 2,645 mAh.
That charge lasts me a week (my Nokia E71 would not last that long).
Standby discharge + some usage = avg. 0.5%/hr (20mA/hr), airplane mode overnite = 0.1%/hr (4 mA/hr)
Maybe A1 with Nougat lasts longer with smaller battery, than X72x with Oreo...
And the RN4? To beg the commies for letting me to unlock my phone?
Really?
At this moment, the X722s (X720s long gone) are disappearing from the [Chinese] warehouses, ergo the price went over $200,
but if one doesn't have to pay any duties/taxes ... it is still a bargain for this 2 years old phone. https://tinyurl.com/ydamcw9y

Don't worry, the phone is fine. The battery still lasts quite long but I haven't gotten 9h screen on time on any Oreo ROM anymore. Things are constantly improving, you just need to spend a little time to reading the forums and flashing a new ROM now and then.

Just follow the instructions and get support in telegram, xda, google +...

Hi guys been using miui 12 for two months and I don't want to go to custom roms. is there anyway to get SOT like miui 11 android 9.
now only getting 5-6hrs at most.
what will i do.
is Chinese rom better than Global?
Using stock MIUI 12.0.3
I have never run the battery down all of the way, but by extrapolation it looks like I can get about 10 hrs, assuming just screen time with minimal standby.
With my normal use, overall I get 2 full days on a charge, each day with 3-4 hrs SOT.
Unplug early in the morning, and plug back in evening the next day.

Ever since I upgraded the battery life has been terrible and I tried the ADB method, and honestly I haven't noticed that much of improvements, now I'm considering to format my device.

it happens with every major update where the battery life and the performance become a little horrible, a factory reset is always advised.

For me miui 12 has better battery life then miui 11.
I'm getting 10 hours SOT easily and am very satisfied with the overall performance and gui after debloating.
I kept data but cleaned system, cache, dalvik and vendor.
But clean installation is as always recommended.
Another thing, give battery life a couple of days of use to normalise after upgrading.
In almost every case after upgrading, especially dirty flashing, there's a noticeable increase of battery usage as the system has to rebuild caches and kernel to stabilise.
Especially the media scanner is consuming power in the background depending on data storage. Adding .nomedia files to folders you don't want to be indexed helps a lot.
Overall, don't judge the battery life too soon after upgrading.
Hi,
Did you guys find out a solution?
I have the EU rom 12.0.3.0 on my Mi 9T and I still have a 5-6 hours SOT.
The battery is not draining when I put it on flight mode which is good.
I do have a normal use of my phone: whatsapp, emails, internet...
I have as well restricted many apps in the background.
I dont know what to do more to have a better SOT (2 days without charging my phone), except coming back to miu10... which is a shame because i bought this phone to enjoy last os.
With OOS11 , The highest SOT im getting is 6.5 hours
How is the battery life in Android 12 OB1 ?
There is a hope for a good battery life on Android 12?
My battery life is noticeably better on OB1. I was getting about 6-7 hours SOT, but so far on OB1 I'm consistently getting over 8.

I haven't run into any of the issues I've read about, but then I've only been on it for like 5 days so far. The only issue I've encountered is my 3rd party alarm app isn't working in the mornings, but that happens to me every single time a major Android update comes out and they change how they do process management. Probably just a new setting I haven't found yet, and the built-in clock app works fine until then.
Not all apps are compatible with Android 12 yet
Mine is very good.
But that depends on your usage. If you don't put the phone down, ever, no battery, no phone will ever be good.
Seems good enough me, but still watching it for a while....
6 hours 30 mins when the battery remaining was 3% with similar usage, it totally depend on the usage.
Much better than Android 11
