Hey folks. I'm sharing something nice i've been using for a week that I am very happy with.
First of all, I'm a humble guy and I'm not into coding like many respectable members from here are.
Since I changed to Los based ROM ( ressurection remix + dragonxia kernel- thanks to pappschlumpf, the only complaint I had was the battery. With MIUI ROMs battery used to last a lot ( at costs of performance and limited multitasking, I must say), and this was a nice Thing
After googling a little bit, I found out on XDA another thread belonging to people who uses the OP3 smartphone. On that thread they've created a project called AKT that states for advanced kernel tweaks.
So thing is, those tweaks were first released for snapdragon 820 processor, but latest versions supports tweaks on our Chipset (snapdragon 821). Using the instructions on the thread I was able to get a good battery with consistent performance ( need more time to quantify - I'm using zana balanced profile), much better comparing to stock settings. Its also good to remember that not all settings are applied because of the limitations of the kernel..
So here is the link:
:cyclops:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/advanced-interactive-governor-tweaks-t3476589
Hope it helps you if you were having the same problems as I was, any other suggestions are also welcome

Been using Ghostpepper from that thread for a while now, works great on both Lineage/RR and MIUI. Good stuff!

Hey. Can you just describe 'Great battery' with farther information(or proof) like how much Screen on Time(from 100 percentage to end), total battery life, used apps during the session etc? Saying just 'Great battery' doesn't mean a lot though. Thanks.

Just install this app and choose a battery profile. You notice the difference for sure

I know that app for a while, didn't try it yet though. I just wonder what does 'Great battery' mean for anyone who puts it into word. It means +9H SOT over a day for me, which I actually get.
Im sure there would be a difference but that wasn't the point of my post.

I agree with you my friend, and I think the more suitable world to describe it would be "better"
Since this is the first week im using AKT, im running some tests and varying many of the profiles on my daily smartphone use, so my battery levels aren't consistent to a fixed kind of profile
Anyway, As other user said, if you are on a LOS ROM you will notice how battery drain is very high. If you try it you will see the difference, and I think it's worth trying since it's free..
Here are some screens of my battery life. Used battery (ZHANA)profile in akt app. And 15% performance profile to play mupen64 games.
So u see batterylife is amazing in my opinion. And still have 20% left
I think the phone would make 18Hours battery with one charge.

I dont use any battery saver stuff, only Mi's background restriction. And Im using my device with 9 active xposed modules, live status bar indicators, live widgets and wallpaper, lots of app including two or three games like RR3, brightness %60+ under the daylight, low 4G signal+wifi(Smart radio switch when screen is off) and here is what I get(sometimes):

That's very nice results, but:
1) Do you have problems with notifications on this MIUI rom(like messages not arriving at the real time when the phone is on standby)?
3) Do You also keep GPS ON?
2) Have you tried a LOS ROM?

Thanks,
1. Since background activity is restricted; nothing comes in background. Besides; I always disable whole notifications, led, for all those apps. I only check them when i want lol.
2. Yes, I've tried LOS for 15 minutes then returned to miui immediately.
3. I use navigation sometimes, it reduces SOT remarkably, that's why i keep it off when it's not needed.

I am trying up this tweaks on RR from today. Let's see how it goes. So far best battery on a LOS based rom I had with AICP, and still nothing approaches EPIC rom, especially the latest marshmallow build.

I would even ignore if the battery would worse on Los, or RR though. I don't really care battery life since i've got a secondary device on my pocket. The deal breaker is Xposed all alone [emoji1] Dammit I can't stand without my status bar set up, not even for a day to test Nougats.

Hey, I got it and I agree with you, the best battery of this device is from MM MIUI.. But still you are keeping notifications not delivering properly and keeping GPS OFF.
Its a personal taste of course, but On LOS ROMS this phone is almost perfect, as another user mentioned here. On MIUI I had many problems about my notifications ( I didn't receive them without a significant delay) and with multitasking options, even disabling the tweaks to save battery.
Not to mention that MIUI is not customizable as LOS..
As I agree with the other user, this phone is a BEAST with LOS ROMS..
The only problem with LOS roms I had was the battery and the camera ( yea the camera has a better consistence on point-and-shoot mode on miui).
With this mod, battery is very good and acceptable, WITH GPS ON AND LTE ON AS WELL. For me, so far, it's lasting more than 12 hours with around 3:30 sot, LTE on and GPS on, and that's great
I think we'll have the best battery and performance when xiaomi releases official release nougat for our device

Konstantine, everyone understand that the battery is BETTER on MIUI ROMS. No discussion about it. What I'm talking about is a good battery that can last a Day with GPS, LTE on all the time, with no battery saving apps ( or background data restrictions), ON LOS roms. LOS ROMS .
If you use it on miui, I really don't know the results, but I think the battery WONT BE BETTER THAN IT ALREADY IS on miui Roms ( most specifically epic rom), if you use this mod
So, If you ever plan to try LOS roms, give this mod a try, it's nice.

Hi,
as the title suggests this smartphone is currently my top pick, i have a tight budget (120 euros/140 dollars); and the Le pro 3 sits comfortably at 116 euros shipped.
Would you recommend it? I have zero experience with modding but i'd like to learn; are the chanches of hard bricking it (x722) high? I would not be able to replace it for while.
Thanks!
At this price you can't get any better.
A few phones at this range might have a bet camera and the official support is almost non-existent, but it's beautiful, well-constructed, has good battery, a good community and it's super fast and smooth. Is runs everything without lags and the processor is equivalent with the ones of iPhone 6s Plus and Samsung Galaxy S7, 300€/400€ phones.
There are currently 13 Oreo ROMS for it and will surely be more, P included.
As long as you flash files compatible with x722, you will not brick it.
Normally, it costs 150€, so run for it. NOW!
P.S. I think you posted in the wrong place, maybe you can ask a moderator to move the topic.

My bad, i thought this was the right section, sorry.
It still worth it AS A FLAGSHIP.
why should be worth? you have a "OnePlus3" inside as hardware.
The right place would have been the questions and answers section.
Just make sure you use the ROMs for the x722 some are universal some are not if you stick with the le pro 3 elite x722 development section you'll be pretty safe as long as you're careful and read everything in the first post you should be OK just make sure and do a full backup in twrp and copy it to your PC in case of problems. If your unsure about something don't do it till you're certain you understand the guide. Good luck
Yes and no.
If you want a phone that just works then get something else. Yeah, the Le Pro 3 has better looks and internals than other phones but the software is never perfect.
Currently all Oreo Roms drain the battery pretty fast, battery life is still good but not outstanding anymore. Also there are always some other minor issues like a wonky signal, app crashes as so forth.
The Redmi Note 4 or Mi A1 are the obvious other choice. You're getting a more "stable" package but the phones don't feel as premium, the RN4 also has worse camera.

Ah ... bullcrap. What does it mean "Oreo..drain the battery pretty fast"?
In technical terms, I charge the battery in the range 20-85%, and this delta of 65% = 2,645 mAh.
That charge lasts me a week (my Nokia E71 would not last that long).
Standby discharge + some usage = avg. 0.5%/hr (20mA/hr), airplane mode overnite = 0.1%/hr (4 mA/hr)
Maybe A1 with Nougat lasts longer with smaller battery, than X72x with Oreo...
And the RN4? To beg the commies for letting me to unlock my phone?
Really?
At this moment, the X722s (X720s long gone) are disappearing from the [Chinese] warehouses, ergo the price went over $200,
but if one doesn't have to pay any duties/taxes ... it is still a bargain for this 2 years old phone. https://tinyurl.com/ydamcw9y

Don't worry, the phone is fine. The battery still lasts quite long but I haven't gotten 9h screen on time on any Oreo ROM anymore. Things are constantly improving, you just need to spend a little time to reading the forums and flashing a new ROM now and then.

Oc kernel is not included. You can find it on dev sections.
hello there, been following this forum for ages, and a owner of a htc 10 for two weeks....
But I have a big problem....... the battery.....It really is abysmal......
I am currently on LeeDroid oreo, but have tried other roms, and come to the conclusion, the battery sucks!
I know there are kernal tweaks, but with this phone, i just like running the basic custom rom, no bells and whistles......
i am s-off and know how to downgrade/sort signal out/CID/ADB and everything, but I am reluctant to go too far back (Although I do like marshmallow)
I know on other phones, that going back to a previous firmware...sometimes improves the battery
but will it improve my battery????????
I went from Oreo to Nougat. Battery much improved. I was running pure stock rooted. No other mods on Nougat. Took a day to settle, but I could finally leave the house not worrying if I needed to carry a USB cable with me for a charge.

I would say so, yes I had problems. I bought this phone 2nd hand as well. A mint Red one. Pristine condition - at least in appearance. I also have/coming from a daily driver LG V20. Which also uses same 820 chipset. So I had some kind of expectation as to what battery life around. I was kind of shocked how bad the battery was on the 10. Phone was dropping like maybe 20% overnight. In the daytime on stock before I rooted I was getting maybe 1.5 - 2 SOT hours depending on use(i'm not a heavy gamer). I had never experienced such bad battery life before on an HTC phone. I unlocked it/rooted it and started playing with mods. The most success I had was with the Helix engine. I also had some Magisk modules installed to help deep sleep. Probably improved to getting 3 - 3.5 hours SOT. There is a thread dedicated to getting better battery life on Oreo in the guides section and I'd follow that thread and try various things. Also I had done the HTC calibration a few times, and the HTC battery test just to get a sense of the battery's health. In their test, I scored an 85, so I'd say the battery was OK. Not in the area of being a replacement.
But in the end, I was curious to go back to Nougat and then maybe on to Marshmallow to see how battery life would be. Simply going down to Nougat, I was satisfied. Not quite as good as my LG V20, but close enough. Don't feel the need to go down to marshmallow for it.
Maybe in the future I'll go back to Oreo on the 10, but for the most part, Nougat is fine.
From what I've read as well, HTC sort of 'unleashed' the power of the 820 chipset in Nougat, therefore when people went from Marshmallow to Nougat they reported worst battery life but improved performance especially in gaming.

Im aware on the unleashed power htc did on N, but it just don't justify the amount of energy drained. It does not make sense to remove social or other apps from background just because you need to retain battery. Still have a one M7 and the battery still is way better than this htc, with all the apps and settings i need on both, almost a clone of my m7. Im no gamer at all, and don't use whatsup, viber, FB, g+ etc.
You are saying that just by returning from Oero to Nougat, your htc 10 battery got less discharge, like it got fixed? without any mod's?
Thanks for your time to answer me!
Yeah, for me moving back to Nougat fixed my drain problems. Keep in mind, I didn't own the phone before Oreo, so I can't say what it was like pre oreo. But I finally felt comfortable with the performance/battery life I was getting on Nougat. I can't say this will work for you, but others have reported the same. Moving back to Nougat improved battery life.
Before you do it, I'd advise to rule out a hardware problem though to save the aggrivation of downgrading. Do the HTC battery test. If you fall below 70% in the test after an hour, I'd say it might be more hardware related than software.

Good morning.
Wile i was chating with you (yesterday), finally used the htc battery test and to my surprise it went from 99% to 88% in that hour test (99 because it was off and spent that ~1% booting). So, hopefully, will experience the same as the most of you who made the downgrade.
Perhaps its some part on the process of downgrading that fixes something, maybe the format of the [persist] partition one have to wipe to recover access to the baseband (thus the imei) repairs something, a kind of file system error that makes the android system use a lot of power(?).
As i told before, if do mobile repair and to this day, after several hundred of phone fix (hard and software, various brands as lg, samsung, htc,, iDeveices and china phones, never seen this type of problem unless it was hardware problems like pmic (power management IC) due to use of bad chargers / bad cables, water damage, drop damage, etc. Got this 10 and as soon i got here (xda) immediately noticed the amount of people that had the very same problem. And we are (here on xda) just a few to the many thousands of 10 owners around the globe that don't use xda or any other forums to talk about this problem.
Going to do this downgrade today. Im eager to see the result and use my 10 finally (another agnostic hope :angel!!
Thanks!
Hello,
The battery of my OnePlus 3 has to be fully charged to survive a day. I want to keep my phone as performance, camera and display are still fine and new phones have so many downsides somehow (no headphone jack, weird notch situation, high SAR values, oversized,..).
What are my options to extend the battery life?
- replace the battery with a OnePlus 3T battery?
- which custom kernel or custom rom do you suggest?
- other suggestions?
Currently i am on the Pie community beta. Battery life has gotten worse when i updated, i can tell you that. My personal preference for the next OS would be a privacy-focused OS.

Have a go at the skydragon ROM it's normally very good with battery but for more privacy focused you'd have to flash lineage with no gapps and use alternatives from f-droid or yalp store for things like playstore and messaging etc...

Thank you for the answer. I've heard of both Skydragon and Lineage OS. I was hoping for something like LineageOS with a battery-saving Kernel (I've no experience with flashing kernels).

u flash a kernel like a rom thats it just do it at separate times
@orawnnd
I wouldn't advise a 3T battery. It may create issues. In addition, the 3 and 3T batteries were likely manufactured a couple of years back and sitting on the shelf all this time. So they may deteriorate fast. Still a better option than going for 3rd party batteries.
Regarding ROMs, the OOS Pie Open Beta has been excellent in all respects, including battery drain, for me. May be a clean flash and not restoring apps will make a difference for you.
As for SkyDragon, I was using it for sometime and it was also excellent in all respects. But, of late, there are complaints of unexplained battery drain in its thread, not for all but atleast for some. I have not tested LOS in my OP3 though I run it in my N4. Again excellent results.

This is true. Settled on LOS after trying all other roms, they had explainable battery drain issues with time. Even tho, I don't see a plus in battery saving on LOS. Battery performance is "OKAY". LOS is just smoother.
IMHO stock is the best for battery. :good:
I recommend you install accubattery from the play store( free app) and check your battery health before you decide on a battery change. It also lets you see how much the battery has degraded over time. My OnePlus 3 is currently at 86% life

1. Replacing OP3 with OP3T battery won't work. This is debunked already - don't try it.
2. Sadly your only options:
a) Replace battery with new one.
b) Flash custom ROM onto your phone. Read comments about latest build on every ROM thread - people point out things like battery life etc. e.g. SkyDragon latest build seems to have battery issues (people reporting it in comments).
c) Power bank. Really. Things like this is also an option, but I don't see any on ebay for OP3.
I'm ordered a battery for my op3,this battery it's for op3t,in about a month I will tell you how it's it.

Sorry for the late response, the phone with the new
battery not booting.
I'm on official pie rom from OnePlus.
Have you got anything important on the device
use any custom kernel that supports cpu frequency changing. Underclock cpu to 60%(bit cluster have huge impact on battery) when you dont heavily use your op3/t . You will notice significant battery improvement.
Hello,
a few days ago my Mi6 (4GB/64GB) upgraded to Pie (9.5.9 Beta) by OTA.
After that, the phone isnt smooth as in the past.
Sometimes starting apps from links while browsing - like ebay or amazon- fails.
Phone take little brakes.
Soundstreaming to a Bluetooth Soundbox is horrible, many little stops.
Does anyone has the same experience or issues after upgrading?
Best regards Christian
I always have this rule, if i upgrading. Example: from Android 8.0 to 9.0, then i doing full wipe, but older system leaves so many trash in system files.
I install 9.5.9 on my Mi6 128GB with MiFlash and dont have any problems, very stable rom, good battery performance.

Thanks mate. I will think about doing a full wipe. The battery performance is also not the best. Its not worse , but battery drain in oreo was much better.
Battery is really bad in mi6 like using an iPhone
