Hey So iv had some issues rooting this phone. Im new to the whole rooting thing and would like to learn more. This is my old phone and I want to root it. Iv spent around two days trying to get this to work. So the current problem is I think the boot loader on it is locked and Iv been trying to unlock it. For some reason when I do adb reboot fastboot then the phone just restarts. Any one have any ideas about this? I have been trying to follow this guild <https://highonandroid.com/android-root-101/how-to-unlock-bootloader-on-any-android-android-root-101-1> any help would be appreciated as I said im new to this.
Modle Number SM-G925R7
Carrier- Cspire ( i heared that c spire and T-mobile are basically same thing. Ill delete post and move it if this is wrong)
Android Version 7.0
Edit: Found out that this phone might not have fastboot on it. Any way of knowing?
More Info:
when I try to run Odin it restarts 2x and the root is unsuccessful.

I know nothing about rooting. Last phone I ever flashed a rom on was a touchro 2 aka rhodium. I just purchased my evo and its the newest model with the latest software. Is there a easy guide out there that I could understand? i been searching for a few days but I dont understand some of these methods. Any help would be appreciated.

i am looking to get 2.3 onto my phone and get free wifi hotspot tethering.
i am running windows 7 ult. 64.
also, any links where i can get apps that only rooted phones can get?
any help would be great. sorry for the noob questions
Root using Unrevoked. It is the easiest method by far. Once you have root and s-off, you can worry about flashing custom roms. I'm not sure what you mean by "simple root .1" so you may want to post a link to what you tried so we know where you stand.
Also, it'd be easier to help if you provide your phone info as far as which hardware version, what software is on it now, which hboot, etc. If this is all new to you, then read some more and get a better understanding of this before you mess up your phone.
Can you boot your phone normally or is it stuck somewhere?
Simple root it outdated, you can check out the following thread for info on how to root.

i searched and searched up could not find any other forums to help me out here.
im following Jboogie's guide to rooting using the DROID2ROOT method and when i get to about step 4 to begin to push the files in i get an access denied , id post an image but no can do ...
what can i do to help me get thru this and fulfill my dreams of Rooting and Custom Romming?
P.S i have a T-Mo usa motorola defy , got it a couple days ago , motoblur makes it slower then my old behold ( the first one -_-) and i need to get rid of it before im forced to send this thing back ( i really love my almost bulletproof phone ! :/)
A T-Mobile US Defy can be rooted very easily using Z4Root, unless you downloaded and installed the 3.6.360 update.
i havent updated anything it came with build JORDN_U3_6.360 , does this mean no root for me ? :/
Try the SuperOneClick method. That might work.
I need to carrier unlock my OGP. I have a factory code from ATT. My phone is rooted and running Cyanogenmod 11, which is how I bought it. Now, for the life of me I don't know why anyone would root and flash a rom to a phone prior to unlocking it (for the buck or so that it costs), but thats another story. Anyway, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to take this phone back to stock in order to unlock it ( it will not unlock with the cyanogenmod on it). I've read the guides, etc, but nothing works. The phone absolutely will not connect tosh LG Support tool. Im running windows 8, the drivers are installed, the computer recognizes the phone, but the tool does not. None of the guides say if this method (LGST using options/ recovery requires the phone to be in download mode--in fact, nothing is mentioned about that).
I am completely stumped and would sooo appreciate some help. All I want to do is take it back to stock, then unlock it. I will then worry about rooting it and flashing roms again.
Thanks in advance for anyone who is willing to help a complete noob. That said, I have read the guides, tried the methods (although I think I may have an outdated link or tool or something) so anyone willing to help, please just don't point me to a link on this forum. I've been there, tried that, etc.

So, my parents just got me my 1st phone and I'm looking to root and get custom ROMS but unfortunately I haven't been able to find much on doing either of those things on my phone, however I did try the low effort root on here but with no success, when i type id in the terminal window after connecting to the DIAG1 port (yes I tried the other ports) it simply reads back fail and absoloutly NOTHING on bootloader unlock. Even if you can only can tell me how to do one of these things it would be great. My model is a LG G4 H810 (AT&T). Thanks in advance. Also, sorry I'm kind of a Android newb
