Hello
I want to bring up an issue that started a week after the latest security update I received (WW_ZS620KL_90.11.162.50_20190326). I am helpless with this issue.
ISSUE
SIM card network fluctuation
Every minute or so the sim card networks go down and after that, the phone says that there is no sim card inserted.
After a couple of minutes that signals are restored and this happens again.
This sometimes makes the phone restart abruptly.
I didn't find ways to reproduce this but it happens every now and then.
THINGS I TRIED
Downgrade to the stock version.
Factory Reset.
Turn off Dual VoLTE.
Nothing worked

I rarely have this issue too. It has only happened around 2 times this month. But it can depend on the provider as well.
I got a low signal in a very specific building in my area.
I use only one sim and micro sd card.
I have observed this issue when 2 SIMs of same network are used. I'd recommend you to walk in to the nearest service centre as downgrading and data wipe has not worked for you. I don't think any further resolution can be provided on xda.
This seems to be a sub-standard quality issue, please visit the nearest service centre and ask for assistance and try to get your handset replaced.

Hi All,
I'm hoping someone out there could help me with a very puzzling problem I've been having since yesterday on my HOX.
I recently moved back to Australia and bought a SIM from Vaya, who use the Optus Network. Everything was working fine for the first 4 or 5 days, but since yesterday, I have been unable to connect to the Optus network for the majority of the time and when I have been able to, it has only lasted for a short period and then I lose reception again. I did not make any change to the phone in the last week, besides regular automatic updates to installed apps like Facebook, etc. I have also tried the SIM card in another phone and it is working fine, so figure it must be a problem with the phone, and not the network or SIM card.
When I try searching for networks, sometimes I can see YES OPTUS, and when I try to connect it gives me the message "Your SIM card does not allow a connection to this network", and other times it just cannot see the network at all, even when in the same location where I have full bars on another phone. I have rebooted the phone several times, gone into the phone diagnostic screen and set the radio bands to AUS, AUS2 and back to Automatic in case that may have been the problem as well.
I have a WWE HTC One X, CID HTC_001, bought factory unlocked, rooted, S-ON running:
Rom: ViperX 2.7.0,
Kernel: Faux 010m
Baseband: 2.1204.135.20
Build: 2.17.401.2 CL89015 release-keys
HBOOT: 0.43.000
Any ideas?? I'm just really puzzled by this since it was working for the first few days and just stopped working overnight after nothing that I can think of has changed
Nobody?
make the setttings for the internet urself..or try to use another SIM card in ur phone and see if you still have that problem ..better use a sim another carrier..
I had this problems and a manual configuration for the internet resolved it
Yeah, it's not an apn problem, it can't connect to the network provider at all (to make phone calls or sms's).
Having a little trouble getting my hands on another micro SIM, but will hopefully have some luck soon
This is my first post here, so apologies if this isn't where my post belongs or I screw something else up.
So, I had a previous CM on my phone for awhile, whichever used 4.0.4 as memory serves.
Decided to try a 4.4.x based rom, and found a 4.4.2 rom which actually has a working camera, which seems to be always the problem with roms for the Gio.
I *thought* everything had gone smoothly, only to realize that my phone had no connection to the Mobile Network wasn't working. it took me a moment to figure out how to get that connection to work as this had not been a problem previously. my problem is the connection seems to be forgotten, on occasion, with little or no warning that I can neither make or receive calls nor SMS. Forcing me to search for the network, and reconnect.. shouldn't this happen automatically?
I hope I've provided enough information to be useful, if not I'd naturally be happy to provide what I can.
Thanks!
I'm on Virgin Mobile in Canada

I am using CM11 RC9 also meet the same problem, after a soft reboot then it show "Mobile Network Is Not Available", everything is work except using mobile network to surf the internet.
And there has another problem, sometime Wifi suddently no data transfer, I have to turn it off and turn on again, and it's working again.
A newly flashed rom or sudden reboots activates 3G network mode. So switch to 2G in these cases.
It's a 3g/2g phone and 2g coverage doesn't seem to be as good in this area. I could understand if I were in a low-coverage area but it seems to be intermittent, it will be working fine, and then stop, then it will have trouble finding a network after searching multiple times. even then, again, should it not be doing something like this automatically? It shouldn't require manual intervention every time I lose signal.

Okay, I was out with the phone today and it was constantly losing the signal then not being able to find any networks "error searching for networks" so I think this rom is not really in a good place yet, I'll have to try my luck with something else.
Looks like it was a noob mistake on my part, I think the baseband was changed to an American S5660 one, namely XXKS2
I was able to apply one from an older Canadian S5660M rom from samfirmware.com, namely UGKG3.
So I *think* it's sorted, but I'll keep you up to date.
Dear XDA forum members,
I've been experiencing this issue with incoming calls from a specific number since the upgrade to Android 8.0 (Oreo):
(this is a quote from my post on the Google productforums)
Hi all,
I've been experiencing a weird problem with my LG Nexus 5X phone. Let me explain:
When I dial my mobile phone number on my company's internal phones, I hear a dial tone on the line but drops after two 'rings'. With no redirect to voicemail. The phone itself does not ring, there is no trace of the call.
There is no problem when I call from a fixed residential or mobile phone.
Troubleshooting steps:
I work for a telecom provider myself, we checked the RAN and see paging going out to the handset, the handset responds to this paging. We then see the 'ALERTING' phase which means the call is in fact routed to the handset.
I then switched my SIM card to an iPhone and another Android phone, the problem does not occur with these handset.
So I tried a factory reset of my Nexus 5X, this didn't solve the problem.
Afterwards, I did another factory reset, but then set up the phone as a new phone instead of restoring a back-up. This also didn't solve the problem.
The phone was on Android version 8.0.0 (OPR4.170623.009, Oct 2017), I flashed it to Android 7.1.2 (N2G48C, Aug 2017), and the calls were working again!
I also forced the handset on 2G, but this also doesn't solve the problem.
I then flashed the handset again to the latest Android 8.0.0 (OPR6.170623.023, Nov 2017) release, but the problem occurs again. This time, I noticed that when the call is made from our company's internal phones, my cell phone's signal goes away and comes back up a few seconds later. So it seems that the radio crashes. I've attached a log of the radio made with 'adb logcat -b radio'. I also added the relevant crash log.
I've also tested this with a colleague who has the Nexus 5X. The problem also occurs on his handset.
When calling my brother who currently lives in the States (and also has a 5X), the problem does not occur.
Thanks in advance,
Ruben

The thing I've been wondering, would it be possible to flash the radio image of the stock 7.1.2 (N2G48C, Aug 2017) version on a system & bootloader image that runs version 8.0.0 (OPR6.170623.023, Nov 2017)?
So basically, use the radio software of Android 7 on an Android 8 system. Could this break anything? Otherwise I'd figure I just test this...
Thanks in advance!

It is perfectly fine to do this. Just flash and see which gives you better dBm signal and data speeds.

Thanks for the answer! I flashed the radio-bullhead-m8994f-2.6.37.2.21 image, but the issue isn't resolved.
Guess I'll have to wait for Google to fix this.
Hi all,
So today I was updating Havoc OS to the latest build on my OnePlus 3, everything went well but it was only later when I either made of received a phone call, I would notice my network signal on both my SIM cards would disconnect then reconnect some time later.
Ive tried rolling back to the previous version I was on and still receiving the same problem.
Ive also tried stock Oxygen OS, Lineage 16 and Resurrection Remix all with the same result.
Just to check to be sure, I removed the back panel and cleaned all the antenna connections and same result.
Ive been into the phone information screen (*#*#4636#*#*) and tried manually turning on and off the radio power and still no joy.
Ive also put both the SIM card into another Duel SIM phone and there working fine.
If anyone has had some sort of experience with this sort of situation, your help would be greatly appreciated. :good:
Did you ever fix this issue?
Accidentally I flashed India Retail stock pie rom(nash-user 9 PPX29.159-19 02844 release-keysM8998_50.71.02.95R) on my XT1789-04 and when it booted normally it didn't have any network.
I tried flashing custom roms Lineage 16 and 17 (Android 9 and 10) but still no network, everything else works perfectly fine.
I tried flashing TMO stock rom BUILD NUMBER OSX 27.1.7(NASH_TMO_C_OCXS27.109-51-14-7_subsidy-TMO_RSU_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC) but still no network, I still have wifi and baseband(M8998TMO _ 20207 . 117. 02. 41. 08R NUS).
I tried flashing on slot A/B and both slots at same time still same thing. I also did wipe data or factory reset after flashing stock rom. I also tried Lenovo moto smart assistant and it successfully flashed the same rom as mentioned above but still no network.
I couldn't able to do blankflash as I couldnt get into edl mode, I tried adb and from TWRP as well, it goes to blank screen and immediately boots normally.
Current status:
I have baseband showing on my phone: M8998TMO _ 20207 . 117. 02. 41. 08R NUS
IMEI : showing normally
STOCK ROM :- OSX 27.1.7(NASH_TMO_C_OCXS27.109-51-14-7_subsidy-TMO_RSU_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC)
Wifi : Working
Network/Radio :- not working (no network / sim card is not detecting)
Bootloader : Unlocked
Can somebody please suggest some solution to get network signal or sim detection back?
I currently have the same issue after having solved the 'no baseband' problem and could use some help as well.
No solution, I'm sorry. I have the exact same problems on my 1789-04... Wi fi working, no mobile network.. My sim is detected in the phone. using a phone info app it detects the sim, lists the sim icc number... only the phone ICC is unknown.. I am nearly positive that this is a software issue (theres nothing wrong with the modem or phone hardware wise). Still have baseband and imei.

Hello I have the same problem, I tried several roms and everything works except the mobile signal.
I installed the original version that I had backed up (android 8) and I still have the same problem with the mobile signal.
I don't know what to do anymore. I want to get my phone back, there has to be a way.
My original phone is model XT1789-04 tmo with July 2019 patch, it is from the US, unlocked for use in Argentina, it worked fine until I wanted to put the android pie 9 on it and since then all this started. Help!!!!
Hello. I'm following this post...any updates ?
