PitchBlack recovery for Asus Zenfone 5 ZE620KL based on TWRP 3.2.3.
Bugs:
- When restoring backup system is mounted as readonly which results in error.
- When installing official Asus OS: error:7 this device is omni_X00Q not WW_phone (fix for this below)
- Cannot decrypt /data
To Install:
Refer to other more specified guides on how to install custom recovery. After that download zip from below, extract recovery.img from zip (will be in TWRP folder) and flash it as in the guide. After that reboot into recovery and re-flash full zip provided to gain more functions like ability to flash latest magisk provided by Pitch Black team.

Copy the downloaded ROM to your phone.
Boot into your recovery
Back up your ROM
Enter recovery
Make a full wipe (system, data, cache, dalvik)
Install the ROM wipe cache and boot
Reboot to recovery and flash root and gapps
And clear cache again.
Reboot - each boot can take up to 5 minutes
you need gestures for cm actions to work.. you can find apk in telegram channel @customwallzbyu. change permissions and set to priv app folder reboot thats it. i will post tutorial below.. all is working you need to flash root. super su reccomended but magisk will work.

Put apk in folder and name folder gestures. Change both file and folder to read and write permissions put folder containing file in system/priv app and reboot and gestures will work I will fix in next update so this is not nessesary

Hello all,
Tried to build Los 17.1 from source, build is successful and flashes via TWRP.
Gets stuck at Los bootanimation, if I flash TWRP and switch to a different slot. Device goes back to OOS without any data loss.
Would really appreciate if anyone could help me get this booted.

Edit 1: Rom boots if flashed on slot A, but doesn't resize partitions, so not able to flash gapps.
Edit 2: Gapps flashing issue fixed.

I'm not a Developer, but I have many years experience tweaking and flashing all my devices.
One of the first things I try is to format my data in twrp (so factory reset). It's an inconvenience but it usually fixed a bunch of issues for me.
2nd one is making sure I flash to the A partition. Never been a problem on this phone but on my razer phone I could only ever boot LOS on partition A
MIUI ROG Rom based on MIUI 12
ONLY FOR CURTANA DON'T FLASH ON JOYEUSE
Other roms port:
1. Masik X
2. Xiaomi EU
Instructions:
1. Download
2. Flash MIUI ROG rom zip in TWRP
3. Flash firmware: 11.0.10
4. Format data if your data is encrypted / Wipe data if your data is decrypted | + wipe cache
5. If reboot to fastboot, flash stockboot.zip in recovery and reboot.
Your data partition will be decrypted too after flashing this rom
6. Magisk patches not needed anymore, but do check Magisk patches from third post to see if there is anything necessary.
Warning: Other roms may not flash successfully after flashing this rom. I blame their flashing procedure.
Workaround: Either flash stock or eu rom or old masik rom from fastboot.
